Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

My prediction is that the next dedicated Pokemon game (NX or otherwise) will be a massive extension of this. And this game is the gate way to getting people back on Nintendo hardware. GO will be like the gimp version.

If I'm being a freeloader what resources do I really want to conserve?

That would be pretty awesome, personaly I'm bummed that this game isn't on 3DS because my phone can't run it. I know 3DS has AR too *cry in a corner*

Just saw this pop on my FB feed, Local Police Departments are annoyed: Just use common sense people.

My game freezes immediately after I catch a Pokemon. I have to force quit every time. The Pokemon will be in my inventory after restart but it's super annoying.

In power save mode sometimes the game will no longer register my screen presses. Once again I have to force quit.

Anyone have these issue?

Try turning off AR, that's what worked for me

Another 10km egg hatched, another Scyther! Alway glad to have two, and it has Steel and Dark moves so it's not a copy of my first one.

Just one more 10km egg to go for now, and it's almost done.

I do it whenever, but supposedly when the green circle is bigger the chances of catching it is higher.

I've been hearing the exact opposite that if you make a skilled shot into a smaller circle that the chances of the catch is higher. lol.

EDIT:

You have the greatest chance of capturing the Pokémon while the colored ring is at its smallest diameter. At the opportune moment, fling the Poké Ball toward the Pokémon.

I honestly see it more like a "walking companion" that a proper game honestly. The mechanics are pretty rudimental but they're simple enough to cater to a huge variety of users, just don't expect a mainline pokémon game with deep growth mechanics and battles, at least for now.

I'm not even expecting a mainline game, it's fine not to have battling or anything else, but I was hoping it would take advantage of aspects of mobile that the handheld games couldn't. Connection to your Pokemon, raising sim aspects, something. Aspects of Pokemon-Amie would have worked great here, too.

Even with the walking app aspects in mind, I feel like the old Pokemon Pikachu virtual pets/step counters did a better job of "connecting you" to the Pokemon.

I was surprised to read this generaly people just stay in front of the police station or fire station. Those people must have been hell shy, lol.

Anyway, I advice them to put a picture behind the station to send the message just like a skatepark did.

It happens. I assume it's a server issue.

You can use a razz berry.

I'm guessing the Trainer Club Servers went down again? I was playing just fine an hour ago but now when I try to log in it gives me a message that says:

Unable to Authenticate. Please try again later.

Well hopefully they'll expand it. They already plan to include more pokèmons, I think trades are planned as well so we might just have to wait and see.

My girlfriend has two Pokestops at work. I have two that are just out of reach. I feel like Tantalus. I'm gonna die. I have no Pokeballs and there's a Dratini near by. Someone kill me.

I almost feel bad. I've been out of NYC since Thursday and I still have over 100 PokeBalls.

City Mouse won this one hard.

This is making me wonder a lot about the future of Pokemon. This feels like Pokemon in its ultimate form. I could have imagined a Pokemon MMO where you do a lot of the things you do in this but in a virtual world (lock down Gyms for your team, etc)... but this almost trumps that as an experience as well.

There will clearly always be people who prefer a traditional gaming experience and prefer the traditional Pokemon games... but WOW does this ever have potential to be something great and revolutionary.

I agree. If you could pick a favorite and improve it through a pet sim, or like track your Pokémon's happiness, and get benefits from sticking with certain ones, maybe giving them food or gifts, that would be neat. Leave it optional if need be, but I think it would go a long way toward fostering that connection. Right now cp is king, all the weaklings get minced into candy.

Been happening to me too. I caught a paras and it stayed on the catching screen without verifying whether it had been caught. Closed the app and found it in my inventory. I think it may be a power-saving thing, but I can't say for sure.

That said, I don't really mind as long as it ends up being caught!

I have read that it will, this was my plan as well.
It should work!

Smaller. You're trying to hit the ring. The harder it is to do so, the better your chance of catching!
...i've been doing it wrong all this time? D:
You haven't.
How does this power up and evolve thing work? Which is better?
Unless you immediately just need the higher cp, say to attack/place a defender in a gym, and don't yet have the candy yet, evolving is better. Or more specifically, both will raise the Pokémon's CP, but evolution also has other benefits.

That's pretty good for level 7 :)

Is it a way to tell people to not trepass private property ?

It's so odd to me that some people claim they have to trespass to get points. I haven't experienced any gyms or Pokestops yet that are on actual private property. I imagine they're out there somewhere though!

Some people would think that there are not many people playing the game on Europe, with it not being officially released and all. LIES
I just met another player that was capturing a gym in my area.

I have found one (a Gym), out of probably the range of 100 total gyms/stops I've come across. It can be accessed without getting onto the property though, from across the street.
