I've went for smallest possible circle and had it fail a ton and last time i just flinged my balls at the pokemon at the giant circle, got the word "Nice" pop up and captured it.

Your goal is to hit inside the circle with the pokeball. The smaller the circle the better bonus you get when you hit inside of it. It goes from nice (10xp large circe), to great (50xp medium circle), to excellent (100xp small circle). You can also hold your finger on the ball and spin it to get a curveball bonus (10xp).

I ran into a 10 CP Caterpie last night. It took me like 10 pokeballs just to catch it.

I think the higher your trainer level, the more random it is that pokemon will escape.

I got a Dratini as well, though have yet to see another.

As for Ditto, I have this weird assumption that it'll show up on the map as another random Pokemon as opposed to just Ditto itself, but "transformed".

Game has been super buggy for me today. Bad tracking, lots of capture freezes, bugged stops and gyms. Fuck, so annoying

I've heard you can also get "Perfect" but I've never done it, personally. I would assume it's an extra 75-100 EXP.

I have all the eeveelutions but our area is lousy with eevees.

The ones I have that I haven't seen anyone in my area with are omanyte, magnemite, kadabra, golbat, butterfree, and beedrill.

Really? When I've hit as close to center of the circle as possible its been failing like crazy but when i hit as close to the outskirt of the circle as possible its always catching them.

I'm so confused.



Maaaan my game just threw my pokeball and just had the ball sit there for 5 minutes. Had to quit the game and lost the pokeman :| It was a evolved one too. Sadface

He's gotta be though right? The Kanto badge has three levels with 50 being bronze and 100 being silver. You've gotta assume that the gold is 150 and that would include ditto. Probably going to be an event pokemon tied to a business. "Come on down to your local McDonald's to snag your Ditto!"

I hatched a Jynx and Aerodactyl from 10km eggs and have yet to see any of them in the wild so that's probably the rarest for me.

Playing on iPhone 6, I have been noticing issues where I have the game in battery saver, I feel a vibration to alert me of a nearby Pokemon, then the game is actually moving and my character is moving, but I can't input anything to the screen. I have to quit the game and re-open for the screen to become responsive again.
 
There are three gyms near my work and they've been cycling between the three colors all morning :O

Drama!

My building is a pokestop but I'm just out of range of the nearby ones with all the lures :(

Also depends on the CP of the pokemon and the difficulty level of capturing it. The color of the circle is a good indication It goes from green (easy) to red (hard). You can also see the color change when you switch to a better kine of pokeball.

People, please don't be a creep and say hello to people at least to shop owners. (ex: wave at the person at least and show the game XD)

I've received several 911 calls about suspicious people walking around businesses at night. Especially for local pokestops and gyms.

Please tell an employee what you're doing, especially if you're going to be there for a while or if you're in a group.

Business owners get concerned when there's several people just standing around, seemingly doing nothing. I know this is a huge game, but not everyone knows about it or knows how it works.

It really would be bad for all of us players if Pokemon Go got a bad reputation. It'll also save you a lot of trouble. Just a suggestion. Good luck everyone! And please be careful!

Edit: Holy shit everybody.. it was just a suggestion to try to help prevent potential problems. As a player, I'd like for the game to have a good reputation. I'm not saying that anyone should be "required" to do anything. That's why I said it was just a suggestion.

Yeah aerodactyl has to be up there, thats so rad! Cool stuff man.

I love the ditto idea as well, it being transformed into another pokemon would be neat!

Me and my girlfriend also have electabuzzs which I've not seen anyone else around have now that I think about it. Ugh man this game scratches such a huge nostalgia itch! And this is after I skipped on oras thinking I was passed the whole pokemon thing.

Just to be clear, I'm supposed throw it when the circle is as small as possible on the pokemon right?

If so I've had some weird RNG in this regard lol
 
Nobody loves this game more than my dog, who clearly does not care one bit that this Pokemon is threatening me.

With ingress (they're previous game, that Go gets it Pokestop and Gym locations from) users were allowed to submit locations for a while. They had to rely on their playerbase to submit locations and provide photos for them all, because covering the entire world in this level of detail would have been impossible otherwise. I would love to see them open this up again for Pokemon Go players, but ask for wilderness locations and highlights. Things like ancient trees, memorial benches on footpaths, woodland glades, awesome rock formations. This is a Pokemon game so natural points of interest are going to be just as useful (if not more) for Pokemon as man-made points of interest.

Yeah, pretty sure it was a fake story for a lame punchline. The tracking system is garbage. If they updated it to allow the footprints to rotate 360 degrees, so they always pointed in the direction of a Pokemon, that would be awesome. And it would make a whole lot of sense. If I can see a Pokemon's footprints then I should also see which direction they're heading in, right?

If you're going for the experience bonus, yes. I also believe when you get the nice, great, and excellent messages that it ups your chances of catching it but I could be wrong.
 
People who phone the cops need to be the ones who adjust their behaviour. A simple "can I help you?" might go a long way if they are mildly concerned. Nah fuck it let's waste police resources to placate our anxieties.

My non gaming friends are playing this. Tons of ppl walking down the street in NYC too. I work at city hall and its a freaking goldmine for pokestops and stuff.

Anyone know if there is anything rare/badass at Nintendo World? I'll check it out tomorrow.
