Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I don't quite understand how to look for Pokemon on the list lol. All of them point left.. Never any Pokemon to my right

Those are footsteps which represent how far away the Pokemon are. To find a Pokemon, tap on the Pokemon you want to find and walk around. The steps should increase or decrease depending on how far away you are.

Ah this game... after an awesome day of finding a sudden influx of yellow team at work and locking down the gym like crazy, I was pumped to come home and go on a long poke journey.

App has been horrible all day so I was leery but at home was working fine, so I popped an incense to get to level 10 before I head out, and I can't catch anything cause every encounter ends the red error bar and the pokemon vanishing...

so... thats cool.

Edit: God help us when Europe and Japan etc get online... this game is a hot mess.

We need a support group for Go players in rural and suburban areas. I understand that not everywhere can be equally stacked with locations, but must that mean some suffer a less fun game?

It may not be easy to fix that. From the interview posted, they actually asked Ingress players to photograph public monuments and submit them, and they use that database as pokestops, with some of them getting elevated to Gyms. So without that submission/vetting process well underway for rural areas it won't be a fast process to add more. They can't just sprinkle them randomly, based on those rules.

Someone please god help me understand what the fuck is going on with moves

How do I know what moves are going to become upon evolution? I swear it didn't appear to be set. I thought I saw Drill Peck turn into two different things for Fearow.

In any case, pls help.

Were they dead? Probably need to use revive on them.
I don't think they were lol. I used Potions before doing anything else. Oh well

lol you don't. and that's where the grind is, doing the same evolutions over and over!

at least it's quicker than breeding in the main games

Well I guess I might as well uninstall the app then.

Pulled up to my apartment, saw a shape I couldn't recognize so I head out to the subdivision street and here comes 4 other guys all about my age heading down the road looking for the same pokemon. Was fun joining up with them for a good half an hour as we hunted a bit.

It's such a unique experience.

you track down a freaking Pidgeot for 15 min, around the neighborhood, at 940pm. you finally find it, but it is in somebody's backyard. you trespass, and get eaten alive by freaking mosquitoes due to the lake closeby. you waste 20 poke balls to get this awesome pokemon, and when you finally get it, the fucking server goes down and you lose all your efforts.

At this pace I'm gonna lose like 20lb in the summer break.

Also, I haven't been able to log in in like 2 hours, but at least I got a Butterfree right before the servers crashed.

#1 problem this game has is they leaned in to heavy on Ingress map data vs making it about travelling. It's not about travelling so much as where you are or are going.

God dammit :(

That's fine for common Pokemon but for rarer ones that's really not fun

Went to a loaded spot and the game basically died. Also would have a Ghastly but it was invisible and then the app crashed.

Quality product.

Sooo how many people's local tv news is doing a report on Pokemon Go? Just saw a commercial for one about how it's uniting the city.

I missed a hitmonlee because of this piece of shit god dammit
I had 15+ minutes of bullshit with a Primeape. Start battle, throw Poké Ball, escapes, throw Poké Ball, fully freezes, reboot, fail to login for 2+ minutes, get back in, repeat 3-4 times with sprinkled bonus problem, finally fight again, use last Poké Ball, game freezes again. No Poké Balls (used like 26 + 7 berries), can't sign back in.

Once rural players get past the first few trainer levels, pokéballs become so sparse that they are effectively blocked from progressing unless they lay out cash. It's really horrible the way this works right now. Regardless of how easy it is to fix, it's something that needs worked on if Niantic wants to retain these players.

I downloaded this yesterday and found there were no PokeStops until a mile down our highway we live off.

In town, while at work we have a TON of PokeStops though. It sucks coming home as I'm basically unable to play it.

But on a positive note, I've walked 90 minutes today. A new record according to my new phone lol.

We organised a triple lure spot down by the beach 2 cars, 8 people. 1 am, and the servers fucked us. We are uk so we cant buy lures. 3 lures totally wasted.

They really need to fix the pokeball glitch ASAP. It's way more annoying than the 1hp glitch or any other glitch. Ideally, they should fix everything but the pokeball glitch should take priority.

The biggest thing I've lost has been a Beedrill, but reading these posts...damn.

I finally get out of the house and the servers are just completely down. Sucks.

My everyday story.

Maybe I'm just an idiot but

There HAS to be an offline play mode somehow using only the GPS signal and the phone. So many places that would be great to explore are so rural. I'll never be able to play Pokemon Go while camping in most places, which is a shame.

Like, there has to be a solution to this. Use the GPS signal and just randomly generate Pokemon for only one player or something. I think that would make the game much more enjoyable because you'd be able to go to really out there places that might not have phone signal.

Has there been another online game released in recent memory that felt this half baked?

- servers constantly down
- game crashes frequently
- game softlocks after catching a pokemon causing you to lose that pokemon
- 1 HP glitch makes your gym opponent invincible
- rural areas can't play
- losing paid items due to server issues

I mean how do you have one of the biggest IPs in gaming and treat it like this?
