Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Yeah I like what this game is doing for local businesses. Would be nice if they got in on these instead of giant corporations that serve crap food like McDonalds

We have free concerts in a near by park to me (I'm moving in 1.5 months :( ) and there are like 4 pokestops right there. They had lures on them constantly for about 4 hours yesterday, was pretty cool to see. I'm hoping to see more of stuff like this and like I said, I would love to go grab drinks with friends who are playing this as well and hang out.

A cool side effect of this game getting mega popular is that there are a lot of pets getting to go outside / get more exercise than normal.

I've seen people at the local track and around my neighborhood walking their pets and playing Go at the same time

I saw a couple last night walking their cat while playing go!

So the x/350 on the top of your bag doesn't really mean anything?

I was at 353/350 for awhile. I thought eventually it would yell at me to delete some stuff.

you probably leveled up, but when you go to a pokestop to get items it will say your bag is full and go purple. You still get the xp, but you can't get items until you bring the overall total down.

No, I'd hold out and wait for stronger ones or when you stop leveling up like mad to use Evolutions / Leveling to Level up your Trainer.

I was level 7 last night and caught a 600 CP Rhydon.

The fuck are you catching pokemon, Jurassic Park?

Shit man, i'm level 12 and i've never caught something above 300-400CP.

Haven't played this yet. But i live in a city overlooking a smallish park. I've seen like 50 people in 2 hours walking in the park with their smartphones. Insane.

I think that'll come in time. It seems like stops are set up automatically based on notable community locations. In areas where there is not a lot of those, it may be difficult to tag things automatically, they may have to tag them manually.

I'm visiting Yosemite next week, I imagine there's gonna be nothing there. It would be cool if they had rare pokemon at national parks and stuff, maybe they'll do that sometime in the future.

Unfortunately, in many areas it's too hot to take dogs outside for extended periods during the day. Remember, even when it is only 80 degrees outside, the pavement can be well over 100 degrees and burn your dog's paws!

Everything was tagged based on user submissions from Ingress. I don't know the criteria for what was brought over and what wasn't, but everything is user submitted.

Some of them are weird. There is a pokestops by my office that's just two parking barriers called "yellow candy canes"

Just opened GO at my desk and saw the unmistakable outline of Venusaur which was 0 paw prints away. I ran out of my office and into the huge lawn outside of the building until it popped out. It was 994 cp so I was terrified it would get away. It took about 10 great balls but I finally snagged it and walked back into work fist pumping.

Pokemon a HUGE success in Korean, even when the app is not available there.

From reddit:

https://youtu.be/iME97GCseKk

He says he's very happy with the event, especially the visits of young tourists. Also the city will increase free Wifi/Smartphone charging zone, increase security patrol for safety, etc. In the other interview video, he excitedly talks about local food and tourist sites, asking pokemon collectors to enjoy Sokcho while playing. Sokcho is basically a Pokemon town in Korea now.
And all this happened in less than 24 hours.

Now, legalize porn :D

Don't run anywhere for 0 paw prints. Just touch them in the nearby list and it will summon them after a few seconds.

But great job getting it :) That is an awesome catch.

Im in puerto rico for work this week, theres literally no fucking poekmon, gyms, or stops here.

Ingress says there should be:

I'm surprised they don't let you buy great balls, berries, etc in the store once you unlock them. I could definitely see money being made from Ultra Balls

Maybe they couldn't think of a pricing structure. They'd have to charge you more for those balls and people would probably get upset about that. If you replaced the pokeballs with the upgraded versions you get then you start to mess up the difficulty increase that is put in place.

It really sucks how they've done the whole CP thing. I caught a dratini earlier and I was super excited because I love Dragonite. However, it's absolutely pointless me leveling it because you don't seem to get good CP pokemon until higher levels.

It basically means all of the pokemon I'm capturing at the moment is pointless when it comes to gyms(especially because they're a ridiculously high CP in comparison to me).

As for the server issues, I got screwed out of a Psyduck earlier. x.x
