Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Evolved a freshly caught 300CP Eevee tonight

Awww yeah, ready to make another run at some gyms. Legs are so sore though, probably need to take a break over the weekend and just chill at home. Gotten used to the heat outside that when I come home it feel freezing. This game is definitely helping me get out and be a bit more social. Just I feel so exhausted a spent on social energy at this point...must recharge..lol.

Wow! What cp trainer lvl are you?

The community aspect of this is pretty amazing. I was just driving around my neighborhood and saw so many groups of people (mainly, but definitely not all HS age) walking up and down the main drag (clearly playing), sitting down in at a park where there's a gym, all laughing and having a great time. People are out meeting neighbors and getting some exercise - wish they'd talk about that on the news.

Oh yeah, I wish they would do that too. I find it even more amazing since the game isn't even officially out in Canada yet, but we have so many people in our town playing. Literally every day new people are coming to the spot and saying they just caved and went through the process to download the APK or swap iTunes Stores

Went to Discovery Green today (Houston) and wow. The vast majority of people there were Pokemon trainers lol. Even those that were there to exercise were playing while jogging / resting. Had some Team Valor people trying to coordinate a gym attack, ran into some more Team Instinct, but we still got kicked back out heh. Pretty fun either way.

EDIT: Jeez, what dictates the CP boost of an evolution again?

player level, and how many evolutions that pokemon has.

Two new captures today. I found a Seadra and Parasect while bowling. The Seadra sucks ass; only 72CP, but the Parasect was in the low 500s! I also reached level 13!

Had a solid 5km walk, hatched 2 eggs with a 400CP Drowzee, perfect since I only need 3 more to evolve it to a hypno. Also found a 450CP Koffing. Servers are rock solid for me too but I'm in a more suburban area.

I need more Pikachus, I've only caught 2 so far and I really want to evolve it. I tracked one down tonight but it wouldn't stay in the ball and I ended up losing it. Cheeky little buggers.

Wow. All of this Pokemon playing is taking a toll on me. Did a 4 hour run on my.college campus and dinged 18. I'm really sore after 4 days in a row of 20k steps.

Fun news for people in Japan, the Twitter rumor mill runs as far as saying we will get hold of it as late as August 6th. Maybe set your expectations for a long wait then be pleasantly surprised if it comes out this weekend or something?

Again, it's all Twitter junk information but that date has popped up a few times now.

I was off of work today and the wife is out of town.

So what did I do?

I loaded up a backpack full of battery packs, water, and granola bars and walked around San Francisco (where I live) for six hours playing Pokemon Go.

So many people were playing all over the place and it was really cool to see when something like a Pikachu shows up and everyone starts heading that direction.

It's going to take me a couple of hours to go through my haul today. But damn it was fun.

Its funny checking every night and watching the 3DS and Sun/Moon climbing the charts on Amazon. That GO affect.

I've even seen it in affect in person, lol.

I was at Ocean Beach in Sunset last night, holy crap there were at least 120 people there. When the Scyther showed up, the entire herd of people went crazy and flocked over to that side like it was Black Friday haha.

So went to a mall/shopping center today and dear god. First time seeing just how big this has become. People running around everywhere, lures active all around the place.

Stopped at a place to eat that happened to have a Pokestop in it. So i activated a lure and caught a bunch of stuff. The server was like "oh dude i stop during breaks and try to catch stuff here." Got from level six to eight today and caught a 334 Dodrio ;_; low compared to others here but im happy.

A random guy skateboarded past me on tonight's walk and stopped to ask if I was playing pokemon go. Ended up chatting for a few minutes and commiserating about the ones that got away. He was team Instinct whereas I'm Mystic and we both said, "Screw Valor" at the same time. Had a good chuckle over that.

Also saw lots of parents walking around the neighborhood with their kids playing and quite a few older couples as well. It's a sight to behold.

Haha nice! I haven't headed that direction yet, I live near the Financial District.

That's basically what happened when a Pikachu showed up near Pier 23 today. It ended up being in the park across the street called Levi's Plaza. :)

So, is Pokémon Go what mobile/portable gaming is like in Japan? Or, is this a whole other level of crazy?
Mobile gaming in Japan is more like people staring into their phones on the subway commute to school/work.

This is another beast all together and it'll be really interesting to see if it has the same effect it had overseas in Japan.

- Walked an egg: 10cp Magicarp
- Found golbat: 24cp ;_; (do find 100+ Zubats)

Also had a Raticate with hyper beam, that I transferred because my other Raticate had higher cp. That might have been a mistake.

Are there any stats to concentrate on? Like HP or weight/height? Or is it just higher lvl trainer == better Pokémon?

You probably got a bunch of candies for it as well though, no? That much closer to a Gyarados, one of the most powerful pokes in the game. Silver lining!

Not sure on hatching (wasn't paying attention) but I send it to the pokemon grinder right away. Just 449 candies remaining..

Is level 20 the time to start catching Pokemon? I'm halfway from 19 to 20. I heard Ultraballs spawn there and EXP grinding gets really grindy from 20.

I've been focused on leveling up, such as evolving and hatching eggs.

Ah yeah. Idk if it's random or what, but I hatched two Psyducks and got a total of 41 candies between the two of them. Never caught any before that, so hatching even a shitty pokemon can still have its benefits.

The team that controls the PokéGym located at a strip club three blocks from my house has changed four times in the past 40 minutes. I'm laughing my ass off watching it from my house.

Pretty much. Level 20 definitely felt like the soft cap. The good thing about your leveling slowing down is that you can focus on powering up a decent breadth of Pokémon.

Catching Pokemon off of naked titties. What a time. What a time.

Pokemon Go has made me feel safe. Normally, I would have been concerned seeing a few vehicles slowly roll up in near our house at almost 1am. But, I had a feeling it must have been Go related and sure enough I turned on Pokemon Go and saw I was 1 paw print away from a Tauros. Walked out into the driveway and there he was. Caught a Tauros!

Pokemon Go is pushing me over the edge to start watching the show again. I stopped keeping up with it around DP, and pretty sure I wasn't that consistent on keeping up with the gen 3 anime either.

I want to watch the original on netflix, and then Origins (since I haven't seen that yet), and the new one that I hear is so good.

Man it felt like so long ago since I watched the shows, even since I played DP which was the last pokemon game I played. I know this is going to just make me wallow in nostalgia (which I sorta hate doing) but I gotta do it.

Mine is working again now. It's been all over the place today.

Aerodactyl and Charmander on the radar, 3 footsteps though and I'm at work. Ugh.

Guy at the Pokestop told me Dig Eevees evolve into Jolteon, Swift into Vaporeon, and Body Slam into Flareon. Can anyone back this up, out of curiosity?
