Now that I'm breeding for a Gallade the game is giving me mostly Females.
When I was breeding for a Female Gardevoir all I was getting were male Ralts.

Had a lengthy 26-turn battle, my Prankster Sableye against someone else with a Prankster Sableye and Magic Bounce Xatu -- but in the end I tricked him on two switches, back to back, turning the tide of battle. Basically, I pulled out Kangaskhan and survived a Foul Play while the enemy Sableye was still under the effects of Taunt from my own Sableye. He then thought I was going to use Earthquake to break his Substitute and hit him for damage via Parental Bond, so he switched to Xatu. But I anticipated this and used Return instead. His Xatu barely held on. I then knew he thought I was going to use Return again, and he'd switch to Sableye to try and block it -- but this time I used Earthquake, and brought Sableye to the red. Unable to use Substitute (what he had instead of Taunt), he Will-O-Wisped me -- but I was still able to KO Xatu with Return. Kangaskhan was in the red himself from the Burn and Foul Play earlier. I still had my Sableye in the wings.

This is actually terrible.

Vileplume vs. Blissey.

We each do negligible damage to each other and if we get to low health, we just heal.

Down to 13 minutes.

More solid predicting -- when my Light Screen-fortified Metagross is faced with Jolteon, I predict he'll anticipate an Earthquake and switch to Noivern. But so I use Meteor Mash, offing his Noivern on the switch. Meteor Mash also OHKOs his Weavile, who uses Brick Break to remove my screens but can't crack Metagross... and THEN I Earthquake Jolteon.

Also, does anyone here have any extra Kelpsy Berry? I need like 5 to erase the damage done by Zangoose. Either that or I'll have to use a reset bag, which I'd rather not use.

Horde + Power items + Pokerus = 50 EVs per battle right?

Somehow it doesn't add up on the graph and the bar on the right. After 5 horde encounters ( 250 EVs ) and with total EVs capped at 510, I should have more or less filled up half the bar. It shows me about 1/8 of the bar is filled atm.

What am I doing wrong?

Is the correct Power Item on the Pokémon you want to EV train?

The trainee has to hold the Power Item and have Pokerus. Not the Pokémon you use in battle.

That's what I meant by trainee -- the Pokémon who needs the EVs is the one who holds the power item. The Pokémon you send out into battle to defeat the horde does NOT hold the power item.

Items and other stuff (Pokerus, boosted exp) that affect a Pokemon's growth (whether EXP or EVs) only apply to the Pokemon with the item.

eh, it was fine, I'm also browsing the web and watching tv.
I could have just forfeited if I wanted too.
I was mostly worried the other person would disconnect, after the fight dragged so long I wanted it to finish.

I'm torn, don't know if I wanna jump into this SV instacheck thing or not :/

There's only a few more shinys I want and hatching boxes is annoying ... but I like the feeling of all my shinys being mine from start to finish.

Plus, I'm not too comfortable with wifi magic.

What to do, what to do ...

Volcanion, i was surprised was expecting a high spatt but att is cool. Wonder if it'll get the moves to abuse them.

Using Instacheck is kinda like watching porn. You search and you search for the right one. Eventually you find it. You hatch it, and you get your glorious shiny. And then you look at your PC and it's filled with unwanted rejects that you now have to get rid of.

Actually, yeah, seriously, how are you supposed to get rid of the all the eggs? You can't release them and I don't think you can wonder trade them.

Yeah. I have a whole box of Togepi eggs I have not hatched yet. I got one Shiny before I found out about this program, but now I'm using it to either find an egg that has my Shiny Value or my Girlfriend's Shiny Value.

Another thing I like about it is that I can see the IV's of some of the eggs and determine whether or not I will hatch those to help breed for flawless Togepi. :)

Fake Edit: Would anyone be kind enough to trade me a Protean Froakie? I had one but traded it to a friend who wanted it. Doesn't have to have good stats. Could be a reject one. :)

I was actually not that surprised that gen 3 got so many mega evos. I've always looked at gen 3 as the gen with some of the coolest designs, yet, at the same time those pokemon being some of the most useless pokemon in existence for competitive battling. I feel like they gave most of the ones that needed it mega evos, but, the lack of a mega Tropius is a bit of a crime.

i know Ditto can't breed with another Ditto
is there a way that i can breed a "Ditto" ?
if i put any pokemon with ditto, it always result an egg for that pokemon

One of the reasons I didn't bother trying to hatch a Shiny Pinsir was because it wouldn't mean much after the bank opens.

I was expecting that each gen would get less megas than the previous gen, yet GSC got the short end of the stick. Mega Feraligatr would have been awesome.
I think GF did a good job fixing a number of Gen III pokemon, and not just by giving some of them mega evolutions.

I wish I could just have that resolve .... But I REALLY want a shiny female espurr and have had butt tuck luck getting one.

Afraid that mming will give me a male. Also want a T Rex and that's annoying to hatch.

Plus I'm feeling mighty unlucky after running from that Shiny Togepi ... been playing all day with no luck. :/

Call me crazy but I feel like running a support Talonflame. It's movepool is too good for it.

Talonflame @ Focus Sash

Acrobatics
U-turn
Will-o-Wisp
Tailwind/Taunt//Roost

It loses Whirlwind compared to Noivern, but gains Will-o-Wisp. Priority Tailwind and Roost, or Taunt to shut down set ups. Of course Skarm does the job better, but Talonflame's faster, and there's still the element of surprise. With Focus Sash it gets 2 turns to set up and suicide, or you can set up and U-turn out the next. Or go out in a blaze of Acrobatics.

Also, Talonflame is cool man.

I kinda feel like all 3 of the gen 2 starters could use mega forms. I assume they didn't add them though because they already added so many old starters to X/Y anyway that any more would have felt like overkill. Maybe if we do get a Hoenn remake this gen they will add some more mega evos to the pokemon you can't get until the pokebank. That's my dream anyway.

Actually for that matter I have to say I am confused by some of the mega evos. Why is stuff like mega Mawile and Absol even a mega evolution? Why not just make those proper evolutions like they did for a bunch of pokemon in gen 4. My one takeaway from mega evos after 300 hours of Y is that I feel like it makes more sense on pokemon that already have 3 different forms.

It's Gale Wings. But I'm a bit too competitive to consider using it. Even if just for losing speed wars with opposing Talonflame 100% of the time.

I do like myself some shinies so I'll be hanging on to it.
