any chance we'll see them rework the way the battle system looks? I really just want some backgrounds based on where you are at.

Nintendo knows that they don't have to add those in - you'll buy it just the same, and you'll do it with a smile.

Whore.

By my definition I'm a whore too. Don't feel too bad.

What about Solar Beam + Sunny Day? Actually probably not there isn't enough PP for it to be that effective.
Hyper Beam-style moves are hit-then-charge, while Solarbeam is charge-then-hit. Totally different, but yes, it works absolutely great for Sunny Day teams.

They sort of have these in Plat, right? If it's a desert, it's brown in the background and green if it's grassy.

wait does that mean there's a mil2.j- ewwwwwwwwwww there is

The worst part is that Meowth looks like he's really into it - like there's no other place he'd rather be than sucking on that Miltank's wholesome bounty. Hell, even the Miltank looks like she's getting off on the experience.

EDIT: No, actually, I lie. The REAL worst part is the fact that this is part of an OFFICIAL NINTENDO-SANCTIONED-AND-PAID-FOR episode of the anime.

For some reason I trying to find pictures of Miltank on all four hooves. I found it odd that there were only pictures of her standing only on her hind legs...

Oh, I didn't find any.

but why doesn't she have hands? Thats what bugs me.
I suspect that her udders are too big for her to stand on all fours without them dragging along the ground, so I suspect Sakaguchi (sp?) makes her always be a biped so this isn't a problem.

Between the rabid Chikorita love in the Gold/Silver hype thread and today, it's like a neon sign telling me to stay out of Pokemon threads on GAF. D:

0.0.

How was magikarp fast enough to outrun all those guys, including Alakzam? A berry? Was it choice scarf'd?

I wanna see that episode of the anime, now >.<

This is the only thing I use. All that other stuff you guys are typing is moon speak to me.

I find weakness calculators to be a godsend whenever I'm battling online. http://www.skarmorysnest.com/i?p=typeresistweak.php

I usually have that and Smogon's competitive pokedex open whenever I'm battling :lol :lol

Heh, RBY still had a ridiculous metagame. Except instead of 32 potential IV numbers there were 16 iirc. And instead of EVs requiring any sort of strategy, you could max every stat. IIRC, the game was filled with Wrap + Hyper Beam due to how the moves worked back then. This was with Mewtwo + Mew banned. Those two obviously tore shit up =p <3 Mewtwo/Mew. No legendary Pokemon since can match up to those guys! stupid rayquadfadfa whatever
RBY metagame was MUCH more limited than any of the others. It wasn't too tough to learn what to expect out of almost any poke. Movesets and pokemon lists have grown so voluminous now :/

Nobody used Wrap + Hyper Beam in competitive tourneys to my knowledge, unless the metagame changed dramaticaly after 2001.

Mew honestly wasn't that bad. My Ninetales took down many Mews. Mewtwo of course was the embodiment of ridiculous.

Honestly, the EV limitations still kind of bother me. Personality, EV limitations and abilities all being added at once was too dramatic of a shift, and had some pretty negative consequences to playing style (compartmentalizing everything into pure physical or special). At the very least, adding all of this mostly served to widen the gap between a realistic in-game team and an optimized multiplayer team. Once Gamefreak decided to give EV training a personalities as a means to customize stats, IV had no further vaue and should have been eliminated. Throw out Hidden Power with it; that nonsense has been mucking things up since GSC.

So is there any info on the silly differences that they are going to have in this version yet? The only thing that struck me as to why I might get this unneeded remake is that you might be able to transfer Pokemon between D/P/Pl.
