Pokemon Gold / Silver for DS announced

Regular package. The preorder bonuses are the little figurines of Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Arceus.

I imagine well get the same like we did the giratina.
 
Wow, I'm loving the overall presentation of these games. The overworld sprites for Ho-oh an Lugia look amazing.

And wow @ the Arceus egg scene. Very cool stuff.
 
Nintendo should totally add a sort of printer functionality, didn't the Game Boy Printer allow you to print stamps of the sprites? Perhaps Nintendo can have people copy sprites into SD Cards on the DSi to print off of? And maybe have some connection to the DSi's camera as a reference to the Game Boy Camera. I don't know.

Would have to agree. The first thing that popped into my mind was that it would look better if they used drawn interpretations like the intro to SMT: Devil Survivor. Having real photos just looks... off, considering the subject matter.

true the good ones where good but the bad ones are some of the worst in pokemon.
 
Haha, what dedication. The one on the top right looks more like Glaceon than Umbreon though.
I'm assuming the 4th gen Eeveelutions aren't on there and the other 4 on his arm are fairly obvious
 
Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here it goes. As a kid i was huge into pokemon but only played R/B/Y. Recently i bought a GB micro and leaf green and i am loving it up. I want to get into the series and plan on playing emerald next. However my question is i know the games are very deep if you want them to be for example EVs and breeding an so on. So how do i learn about things like this?

Also i see alot of people mentioning Action Replay and pokesav. Is cheating acceptable in the poke community?

Smogon, Bulbapedia, and Serebii are decent resource sites if you want to learn about in-depth game mechanics.

In my experience, external devices are usually fine in most circles as long as:
- you don't hack anything that can't be actually done in the games (e.g. giving Pokemon moves that they can't normally learn).
- you disclose that you are using one and what you are using it for.

I have an Action Replay, though I don't use it nearly as much on Platinum as I did on Pearl. I only resort to it these days if I need to make drastic team changes in a very short amount of time.
 
the last (and only) I played was Pokemon Yellow on Gamboy color. and I really enjoyed it.
But i never played a pokemon since, should I wait for this or should just get Platinum?

I am not in hurry really, so I can really wait for this. But i don't want to play 2 pokemon games this gen. I played around 200 hours in Yellow version and its one of the reason i decided against Pokemon games. They are bloody addictive:lol

I recommend waiting for this it will probably have more pokemon you recognize.

DPPt has everything except previous starters and legendaries, and Platinum even has some of those legendaries.

And it's not exactly difficult to trade for what you're missing these days.

do you mean Online or locally. for me it is difficult locally since I haven't seen someone with a flipping DS in the whole town, let alone some one with a Pokemon game in my Area.

Oh hey all the new sprites are there. Badass.

Looks like they haven't fixed the Butterfree sprite. On the bottom part of the wings, the black dot on the wing closer to the camera is smaller than the dot on the wind further from the camera.
I don't know what I'm doing nitpicking on random Pokemon sprites, but it annoys me to all sorts of places.
 
So is it true they are working harder on the music for these remakes, and they aren't going "trumpet" crazy like in R/S/E (and to a lesser extent D/P/PL)? I do know that they totally changed the feel and mood for much of the remade songs in FireRed/LeafGreen, so maybe they're making up for their shortcomings with this seemingly perfect remake of G/S/C.
And I guess it's unknown if they are going to be releasing the game with the special accessory in the US...

Does anyone know if HG/SS will also have the Crystal extra stuff in it, such as the Battle Tower, etc?

I don't know, I just may import this, if only just to have - Gold was always my favorite Pokemon, next to Red.

I think only Eusine's story is confirmed. There's also the radio show.
