I finished Zoroark!

Why would you do that? said:
you know how you flicker after getting hit and then your health drops? Well, both happen at the same time now.

This is actually what i like the most.
Regarding the health-dropping speed, all the attacks shown were one-hit KO, but it does seem faster anyway.

Have Pokemon games ever had a big showing at E3? Should we expect any hot scoops?

Nope. They're usually not even announced for America until later in the Summer/Fall.

That's what I thought. Especially if this is the big reveal for the 3DS, they probably wouldn't want to undercut it by telling us straight-up that we don't need it for Pokemon. :lol

Yup pretty much.

Eh, how? As there's only one clear shot of its sprite, plus I can't make gifs.

Aww. :<

Also, why does the perspective change sometimes during battles, but not others?

Probably depends on the move.

Fuuuck yes, about time the pokemon started acting like living things during battle. The background/arena is still disappointingly bland but I'll take what I can get.

Still can't choose between Piglit and Smugleaf.

My second thought bedsides "YESSSSS!!" when I saw the animated sprites was how Bulbapedia is going to handle it in the sprites section of the species pages.

I bet you the whole battle field will be in full 3D in the next games, but the Pokemon will still be (high res) sprites.

^ I would be absolutely fine with that. Just make the battles more exciting to look at is all I ask.

The low-quality Youtube videos made me skeptical but now my faith is reassured. Look at Smugleaf cross his arms when he uses Razor Leaf!

Yeah just saw it too. Fuck, looks like I'm going Grass for the second time in a row. Like a BOSS.

I rather they speed up the animation of attacks to make the battles run faster. They should also speed up the HP bar decreasing. All these little slow animation adds up when you're like 150 hours into the game. You start seeing where there's room to cut to make things run faster.

This would be fine by me. I would really miss the sprites if they went all out 3D personally.

It would be easier for me to deal with those if the battles are actually exciting and interesting to look at. But maybe that's just me.

Of course you could always just turn of animations and effects when you're level/EV grinding to make it go faster, but I'd prefer a fully animated battle and arena for the rest of the game.

Edit: Wasn't there talk a while back of Game Freak attempting to make console version of the game again? Like in an interview with one of the guys involved or something? If I'm not completely pulling this out of my ass, I'd think that would be a good chance to experiment with the battle mechanics and flow of battle.

The animations look stupid and ugly. I would be happy with the stand still sprites of recent past.

Barking mad.

Thank god people like you aren't in any position to be making such choices.

You dislike 6 animations out of 600+ , and suddenly, the whole thing should be scrapped?

Oh you.

I'm sure there will be an option to turn off the animations.

Late to the party, but I'm not too fond of the female protagonists design, particularly her clothing. :x

Too little, too late.

Okay, not really, but still. Looks nice on one hand, but if you take a step back it seems silly to be excited about.

Oh man Smugleaf most likely means my brief flirtation with non-grass starters will come to an end. Look at that motherfucker tap his foot as if bored whilst attacking.

Then don't buy Black and White(Which you'll cave in and buy them anyway) and stick with DPPHGSS.

Neutral Trios! (Just special types):
Fire/Electric/Dark
Fire/Electric/Psychic
Electric/Ice/Dark
Electric/Ice/Psychic
Did I miss any?

I may actually have to buy both versions just to get both fire and grass starters. I'm torn.

It won't be my first time getting a grass starter, though. I used the clone glitch in Silver to have all three. :P But every other time it was either a Fire or Water type.

Now that I've seen this, the two things I'd want to see next are:

1: Animations for more old/new Pokémon
2: What additions/changes will be made to the battle system.

Seems like next PokeSunday they'll show another silhouette? Probably the same one that will be shown in July CoroCoro.

Oh, while I'm here, more art:

YES! I hoped for idle animations alongside attack animations and I got it. Fucking beautiful. Mind you I'll probably turn the attack animations off too, but the idle animations I don't think should be turned off alongside that since it doesn't actually affect the speed of the game like panning back as the Pokemon attacks. Not as impressed with the overworld animation, though, but they probably should've shown more of the areas in the scans.
