Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Umm... since when is 7 just "some"

None of these pokemon have drastic second evo's.

Charmander/Charmeleon
Bulbasaur/Ivysaur
Squirtle/Wartortle
Chimchar/Monferno
Cyndiquil/Quilava
Totodile/Croconaw
Mudkip/Marshtomp

Fact of the matter is, it's not rare for second stage evo's to look very similar to their first stage. And there's no real reason to expect otherwise. Unless of course it's something you want. But wanting something and expecting something are two different things.

wat

excluding the bolded, half of all the starters' base forms look similar to their first stage. there's no advantage for either side to be making any real claims.

I think both sides can kinda spin it in their direction.

I really only meant the second evolution above is a bit too generic, especially for a starter evolution. Even across the first two generations, the second form is at least a different shade of the same color. The one in the picture has just basically elongated everything and not even by much :S.

not what I was talking about at all

and I'd love a wallpaper of all the generations :D

oh i was supposed to write not with Green, but wrote Smugleaf instead:lol :lol

I couldn't find a downloadable video of that site! how can these people upload to youtube D:<

So, it is just me, or does it look like there aren't any attack animations yet? All I see is an idle animation that plays even when an attack is being used.

It looks that way. They still look nice, though.

I'm hoping that they saved that for physical attacks.

But this is GameFreak . . . they will likely save that shit for the 3rd game . . . and then go full out for the RS remakes having damage animations and different idles for status effects along side the attack animations . . . likely to only act like they never did that when the next gen starts as they take away the different idle animations.

Just another topic to bring up: What do you think/want the Pokemon to evolve into? Personally this fanart describes what I'd like to see the Grass starter to turn into:

29yhvmb.jpg

For the fire starter, a warthog is perfect for him. Have no idea what the water starter can turn into other than I'm guessing it's going to be very snowman-like.
If the Grass final form is even anywhere close to that I'm going against my fire tradition. Fuck that is ACE!

I kind of feel bad for the water starter. No one is taking it seriously, but it might end up being the most wicked of the three by it's final evo.
:lol

Im picking him. I feel bad for him too. He looks so sad.

That runt should be praying for another Rock-type Leader for the first gym, coz otherwise it's getting soooo snubbed.

All I know is that I'm probably going to pick the water starter. I've never had a problem blasting through the game using water or fire. Grass is a little hard though(at least for me).

Grass starter probably has the best design, but I predict the water starter having the best final form.

I hate to say it, but the fire starter has nothing going for it.

It's a Sea Otter. Sea Otters are cool without any additional gimmicks or fan art.

I know that this might not be the right thread to ask in, but is there a way I can get the special event Pokemon that have been released in the past year or two? I've been out of the Pokemon loop for many years now, and I'm just finally getting back into it. I bought Platinum when it came out last year, but I only played it a little bit and got distracted. I curse myself for having missed out on Darkrai. >:|

Since there isn't a generalized Pokemon thread, I thought this might be the best place to ask. Thanks.

There is a way to "glitch" the GTS and get some event Pokémon. I'm sure if you Google that, you'll find out how.

Edit: Ah here we go. http://community.livejournal.com/pokewifi/2167924.html

:O Unfortunately, the only game I have now is Platinum, but I definitely intend to get Soul Silver in the future. Thanks, though. :)

Honestly, the whole concept of special event Pokemon is such bullshit, but I'm glad there are workarounds.

It's what's soured me on Pokémon these last few generations. If there was one place I could go to get them, then I wouldn't be as annoyed. I hate these times ones.

Speaking of which, I need to get the Pokéwalker course before I forget.

That is amazing, thanks for sharing it.
Now I can get the TRU Arceus I missed to unlock the level 1 Palkia, Dialgia or Giratina event in SS. Awesome.

Or you can just PM me and I'll trade you one.

I don't feel so bad doing this, since I'm only using it to get ones that I missed. I hope it works.
Edit: Wow! works perfectly, except you get an error that kicks you back to the title screen.

Hmm. I can't get it to work. The DOS prompt closes immediately when I drag the file onto it.
You have to drag the .pkm file onto the .py file and then it will open up a command-line.

Don't forget guyz, Pokemon: Sinnoh League Victors (last Sinnoh anime season) starts airing this Saturday on CN.

I like the name, they're deliberately calling back to Johto League Champions. Hopefully they have a kickass opening theme to match.

Yeah, but how many episodes will be filler and how many will actually advance the plot?

That's been my main gripe since, shit, season one. Back then at least I had the endurance to stomach the boring shit.

If you're marathoning it the filler's pretty disgusting, but one ep each week isn't bad. And while the contest crap is filler, it's actually some of the better filler... Never thought I'd think that, actually. Plot-based episodes will probably ramp up since it's the last season, who knows. I haven't delved into what the Japanese episodes are up to.

Well they better keep the Greatest Everyday opening animation!

They'll definitely re-arrange it, but I'm skeptical if they'll do it justice. Greatest Everyday is one of my favorite Japanese openings. Heck it may even be my favorite. Original High Touch isn't far behind though.

Problem with the US openings is that the Pokemon Company has so far made all the DP ones just 30 seconds long, compared to 90 seconds for the Japanese ones. While I like the Battle Dimension and Galactic Battles openings, the shortness and general "softness" of them makes me miss the days when they were about battling and winning. It'll be hard for a 30-second opening to be better than my old favorites.

For the Japanese openings:

1. The Greatest Everyday (13)
2. High Touch (11)
3. Battle Frontier (9)

For the American openings:

1. Born to be a Winner (5)
2. Believe in Me (6)
3. This Dream (8)

After that it gets a little murky for both. There are some I like about equally (other Advanced Generation songs and the DP songs), and some I really really dislike (DP rap, Orange Islands, and Johto Journeys themes come to mind.)

About the next new Pokemons to be announced - is it through Coro or through Sunday?

CoroCoro. I think a June 12th leak is expected. Right before E3!

There's a DP rap? And the original opening isn't on your American list?

I edited my post about that but when I replied to Ookami it was wiped out. :lol Basically I said that the original theme is such a classic that it's in its own special universe separate from all other American and Japanese openings. I can't even really start to classify it.

The DP rap is so awful I don't know if I should even link it, but here you go.

Ah, I thought you meant D/P PokeRap. Like, name all the mons. Sorry, my bad.

Grass is typically "easy mode" because it has an advantage over the first 2 or so gyms. By that point you should have started rounding out the rest of your team to cover your starter's weaknesses.

The only game where this is an exception is Gold/Silver.

Little Wotter had to grow on me, but I like him now. He's a adorable little snowman. Stop hating.

How could anyone hate that?
