Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Oh SNAP. :O

I can't believe that the US beat Japan to a Pokémon reveal! :lol

For those curious about the middle panel of text on the Japanese site...
Pokémon JP said:
The pure white-bodied Reshiram appears in "Pokémon Black," and the jet black-bodied Zekrom debuts in "Pokémon White." Both are legendary Pokémon with strong ties to the history of the Isshu Region, and each hold important keys to the story.

Seriously, though, this has me super-excited for the Sept. 2010 release!

Hell, Zoroark is simply a knock off Pop'n Music's "山吹", check here.

Dunno that song, but I love Nekomata Master! You have good taste, sir. :D

The Dark type is kinda shit isn't it? I don't see how a Pokemon can be naturally evil. Or is it just supposed to be a type of mystery, which is a shit excuse for a type anyway.
Dark is not necessarily evil, just fighting dirty or incredibly aggressive

Like if you had to put it in real life terms, a dog bred to be aggressive would be a "dark" type

Well in Japan it's called "Evil," so I think Dark type has a lot to do with evil rather than true darkness. Darkness is just the absence of light (and some moves reflect that), and I think the "Dark" type is meant to be referring to physically evil acts hence the name of most of the attacks.

But yeah, I can kind of see Zekrom being a Dark type, and Reshiram being a newly introduced "Light" type. And I say this not necessarily because I want it, but because the only thing I could imagine Reshiram being is Psychic and that basically breaks the whole black-and-white, Yin-Yang philosophy design of this game. Because if Zekrom was Dark and Reshiram was Psychic, Reshiram is no opposing force to Zekrom in any form or fashion. So something like that would break the type of relationship I could imagine them two having due to the theme of the games itself.

So I guess this confirms absolutely no extra DSi support in there. Which means we still get the shit WiFi settings. Wonderful.

It's not evil "evil", the aku type just means dirty tactics, which is essentially "evil" but not the evilest.

That hasn't stopped them in the past.
Kyogre is vastly superior to Groudon.

:\

Good thing my neighbour has unlocked WEP so I don't have to change any of my settings just to play Pokemon.

Yeah but it's not like Groudon can't damage Kyogre with his moves. I mean, he naturally learns Solar Beam for Christ's sake. I just don't see why one legendary should have COMPLETE advantage over the other without a chance. Zekrom is vastly superior design wise, though.

Similar to that, they could just give Reshiram Aura Sphere or something like that.

The info box is translucent. :O And it "floats" above the bottom of the screen (not docked to it clumsily like gen 4.)

And it's looking increasingly less likely there will be 3DS versions. Suck it Black-Wind!!

Why does White Version get the black Pokemon, and Black Version get the white one? That's a little odd.
Because black on black and white on white is not a good way to make your product stand out.

Psychic, really? It really looks like a normal/flying type to me. Or maybe pure flying? :O

Then the two wouldn't have any advantage over the other inherently.

Spring 2011 eh? Better finish up Soul Silver and get all the battles out of that I can.

Strange that the white legend is black version, and black legend is white version.

The legendary Pokemon are boring as always. I just hope there aren't too many that might take up the space for legitimate Pokemon.

Same. One of my only complaints with Gen 4 is that they introduced way too many, even though I liked all of them... Except for Manaphy/Phione, normal Shaymin (though Sky Form redeemed him), Regigigas (seriously who the heck likes Regis?), and Cresselia. Darkrai and Heatran could have been normal Pokemon like Lucario, too.

Then again, it did make The Greatest Everyday pretty epic.

Haha, I liked all of the Pokemon you didn't like. Except Cresselia. If Sky Forme Shaymin had a dog mouth instead of a pasted on one, it'd be pretty cool.

Wow, this is actually quite exciting, I don't remember NoA being this close to the JP reveals for the previous games. Hopefully the release will be closer than we think.

EDIT: Or maybe not, as the site says Spring 2011. Ah, well.

Wishful hope to crushing reality in 4 lines :lol

I feel that the black box pokemon is a scrapped design from dragonball z, and the white box pokemon...well...no words for that one.

All the legendary pokemon are overtaking the regulars now.

Yeah, Japanese developers should be forced to withhold games from release anywhere until they're localized for everywhere.

Wat?

The 3DS . . . doesn't even have a confirmed name yet homs. :P

Oh, and I will say that I got a Digimon vibe at first . . . but then I remembered just wtf they actually looked like and thought "Oooh, yeah, now I see . . . nothing like that"

Pappasman said:
I thought the exact same thing.

Those don't even look like pokemon. I still like the though.
A Pokemon looks like whatever the designers want it to look like, so go back to playing Red and Blue. :D

Zekrom looks way too bad ass to be a Pokémon. Looks like he should be terrorising a JRPG character with an oversized sword.
I'm so getting the one with Zekrom

The white one is really... jarring. It's too white. I think that's one of the first Pokemon that I do not like. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who likes the simpler looking normal pokemon.

Many of the newer pokemon looked to be inspired by things that tried to compete with pokemon at one time.

So is Reshiram going to be just Normal/Flying type? Would be a little bland for a Legendary.

Also WTF at Reshiram's... fluff down there?
