Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Ishihara has FAR more influence at Game Freak than Iwata/Nintendo does. I'm sure Nintendo let's them do whatever they want.
And where are you getting this from?

EDIT- OHH, first post on the new page! Should I take this time to show people my Pikachu music video? :0

Just the general flow of how the Iwata Asks went.

Please no.

NOTE THIS IS FAKE

I just thought it was really well done.

It's gonna be really interesting to see which mock-ups were the closest to the real thing.

In the above mock-up, I like them all except the water one. Those lips... Freaky.

Are the mockups EVER close to the real things?

yeah that mockup of that first revealed pokemon was near spot on

Yeah some of the Zoruark ones were ridiculously close. The only thing some of them missed was the red mascara on the actual version. :lol

I encountered a shiny in Emerald before I was able to obtain my first pokeballs once. It does happen.

I'm always terrified that I'll run into a shiny Pokemon in the Safari Zone and... of course it happened on my Fire Red playthrough.

I did manage to catch that shiny Exeggcute, but it took like 10 Safari Balls, and I was certain it would run after every one of them.

:lol I was actually chatting about this with a couple of friends the other day who had grown with pokemon. It seems like we all had these little rituals that we would perform to increase our chances for catching a pokemon.

I, for example, would press the four directions on the D-Pad in a rhythmic counter clockwise motion as if I were trying to cancel out the pokemon's struggle inside the pokeball. And, this was very important, I would not start it until a certain frame in the capture animation. I was 8 when I came up with is. :lol

Others mentioned the A+B Down referenced in the comic. One said he would press it so hard for certain 'mons that he was sure he was going to break his brother Gameboy Color. Another would press A then B in a rhythmic way similar to my method.

The best part is that we still do it to this day though. :lol And I will swear to my death it helps.

What the rest of you guys? Any rituals/habits you've developed playing pokemon?

Judging by the Zoroark leak, we could get it any time within the next 6 hours.
Yeah, ranging from the next minute to the next several hours really doesn't give a good time to expect the leak. For those who want to stay up for it may end up staying up till dawn.

Sometimes I try to make the ball wiggle by tilting my DS. I feel pretty stupid when it doesn't work.

I always held down, like it was keeping the pokeball shut

That was Kevin's reasoning too. Hence why he would do it so hard it felt like he was crushing the Gameboy. :lol Apparently his brothers D-Pad got eventually stuck in the "down" position.

After a capture that proved particularly time-consuming/difficult, or just a mon i really wanted, I do the "V for Victory" sign just like Ash. Cute when I was 8, gets done in the privacy of my room now that I'm 21. :lol

Also, not related to capturing, but all the pokemon on my team absolutely have to be the exact same level as long as I can help it. I check how much experience they need to get to the next level, and place them in order from least to greatest. Poke at the highest level is the goal, and doesnt get used until everyone is where he's at and it's his turn to level up again. Outside of gym leaders, the poke in front always fights first not matter what. "Sorry Staraptor, but if you didn't want to fight Electabuzz, you should have gotten to level 46 quicker. Now suck it up!"

More Pokémon comics that aren't Super Effective, please.
There are some really funny HG/SS comics on Pokesho, but I don't have them with english text edited in.

Does anyone else just use their starter as their main? I always try to use others but I always get annoyed when they are lower levels. That, and I really dislike grinding for more levels.

I kinda did this during my first playthrough of Blue. I had a Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur called Bub. Bub's moveset when facing the Elite 4 was Solarbeam, Razor Leaf, Vine Whip and Cut. I loved that damn pokemon :')

Not so much anymore. I keep them all at the same level if I can help it (lead is always the one with the lowest level/lowest max HP for that level). I don't typically have a full team of six during the main quest, though.
