Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

More like 6 months. They come out in Japan in September and we get them in March or April.

See the actual shape of the thing is cute, but the colouring is just god awful. If they just recoloured his torso to match his tail it would be fine.

Yeah they need to make a third stage evolution for diglett.
Like Magnezone-some kind of fusion.A huge drill machine mole.

Well, we can't really relate 4th gen to 5th gen in any way. 4th gen announcements were drawn out in time over 2.5 years. First pokemon was actually munchlax, back in may or so '04. We didn't get any new ones until year later, and again, we had to wait another year. The first serious bits and pieces started appearing around june '06 and in around july first playable demo was available in Japan on some event.
This time everything is happening much faster. I'd say we will probably get some more info very soon and the games will be released around september-october, maybe a bit later to bump up sales of 3DS (whether or not BW are 3DS-enhanced it will make sense as it will be backwards compatible). Right now I'd wait until E3 when we get more 3DS info.
 
I'm looking more at the scans with the battle screens in them and they look awesome. Now the background where the text is shown, is transparent so you can see more of the battle. Plus the HP bars are very small so it shows more of the battle. Looking forward to see it in motion and see if there are other changes.
 
Looking at the scans, I somehow get the vibe that there's going to be a huge explorable city as a central hub with lots of areas to visit (beach, safari, outskirts, factories, abandoned buildings, forest...).

That would be a nice change.

You know, I had completely forgotten about Pokémon Dash.

But nevertheless, I do expect more news over the summer. And I was trying to compare this round of news with the summer period before DP's release way back when.
 
the battles will see to be a disappointment (visually anyway). let's hope there is at least some new twist. the world looks really nice though. the bridge especially. they could have used painted backgrounds like that Studio Ghibli game.
 
I don't understand the disappointment of the visuals in battle. Do you really want crappy DS 3D? we get enough of that in the overworld.

the disappointment stems from the sprites who don't seem too move any more than they used to.
 
They should just borrow the AlphaDream animators and clone them a few times so they can animate all 600ish Pokemon like that.

It's a shame the guy from SomethingAwful doesn't do the localization anymore, we could've campaigned for Piglit/Pigrill/Pignition to be the NA names. But as I understood it, he was mostly text, no Pokémon names.

Look up the episode A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine (second link in Google), they actually did that episode pretty well. :P

Gym battle episodes are usually pretty good, as are the eps about Team Galactic or battles with Paul (yay plot progression.) I'll have to look up other eps though.

Noodles Roaming Off is a pretty good Team Rocket-focuses episode. Trials and Adulations was pretty funny. Dressed for Jess Success is one of the better contest episodes. The Johto arc is pretty good (An Egg Scramble to Bagged then Tagged.) The Treasure is All Mine was a great throwback to the very first season (James' parents, Jessilina, and Growlie appear for the first time since then.)

Stealing the Conversation is one of my favorite DP eps, wild Jenny was great. :lol

I think these are all Galactic Battles episodes, that's the only DP season I've watched to completion so far.
