Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

For rivals it's Blue > Silver > Barry > Wally and Brendan/May.

Blue is easily the best rival because he was such a dick, but rightfully so. He was always one step ahead of you, and even accomplished your entire goal before you could. He's one of the few video game villains to actually accomplish his ultimate goal. Yeah, you beat him, but he still got there first. It's like if there's a hot chick both of you are pursuing, and he gets her before you do. Yeah, she eventually goes out with you, but let's face it, it's sloppy seconds.

Silver was actually kind of evil and literally stole Pokemon from other people. His entire storyline is driven by the fact that he only wants to beat the shit out of people (he even considers Team Rocket to be a bunch of posers) and probably spits of his Pokemon when no one's looking. It took numerous ass kickings by not only you, but Lance to finally set him straight. And even when he turns "good" he still only wants to get stronger. He also looks the coolest out of the rivals and
being Giovanni's son makes him probably the most interesting
.

Barry was an annoying weenie, but you get to fight him on weekends for a good challenge and experience points. Plus he uses as Snorlax, which are awesome.

Wally and Brendan/May... just awful. Wally is a sickly sissy who uses a team that looks like it was created by a six year old girl. Brendan/May is so terrible you don't even get to see his/her starter in their fully evolved form. Although I do really like the idea of the opposite sex becoming a mini rival. They kind of teased it in D/P and HG/SS but never fully realized it. I want to kick that Marrill's ass.

The right answer.

I can't read the text!

If the right one is bear and it's fire it's going to best starter ever.
Yeah, like better than Charmander. Because fire breathing bear as a final evolution stage is going to so kick ass.

The pig one in the middle is probably grass because Nintendo hates grass starters and outside of Treecko they are usually the worst of the three.

God I hope you're wrong.
Please Grass starter don't be a pig :(

On first view, I saw a beaver in the right spot, a rabbit in the middle, and, as a long shot, a duck with a scarf in the first spot. I find it semi-amazing that somebody else saw a duck with a scarf as well (that picture with the cut little water bear, the war armour pig, and the hipster duck is great).

So tired of the same old Pokemon games - each one is just the same as the last.

What we want is something new. A PROPER RPG with HD graphics...

But, knowing Ninty, it'll never happen.

Wait, the new starts were revealed? Pic please!

Pokemon are starting to look more like Digimon with every new game, I always felt that Digimon had shitty designs.

Agreed. Im actually waiting that one day a Pokemon-game is released where human beings and Pokemon can marry each other. I mean, Red/Blue had one Pokemon that slightly resembled human shape, but now there´s so many anthromorphic Pokemon, it´s getting creepy.

found a few interpretations of the starters

Douche grass bird looks awesome and the bear is too cute to be real.

I actually really like these interpretations of them - particularly the upper fire (is that a coin slot on its back?!) and bottom grass. I will actually be slightly disappointed when they are inevitably revealed to be nothing at all like that. :(

I never understood the "OMG POKEMON LOOKING LIEK DIGIMON" when we have many "human-shaped" Pokemons since Gen1.

Gosh, I literally :lol . Now that's what I'm talking about, they all look very exotic.

Edit: Definitely want to see a Grass/Flying type combination for a starter. I would insta-choose it as my starter.
Even if it looks fugly.

Am I the only one to see the third one as a platypus ?
I saw it as either a beaver or a platypus, but since we already have a beaver pokémon, it's more likely a platypus. Which would be awesome.

Ookami-kun said:
Water/Poison? It's like Bulbasaur all over again (psychic fodder)!
They can scrap to poisonous aspect of the platypus.
But I think a platypus pokemon should be a weird one without evolution.

No, we have not.
If you think Abra is human-shaped, you´re wrong. The final evolution of the 3rd gen fire-starter bird is human-shaped.

No, that's applying double standards.

Magmar, Kadabra, Alakazam, Jynx, Mewtwo, Rhydon, Nidoking/queen, etc.

And in retrospect, Digimon human-shaped are awesome. Fuck your Pokemon, WarGreymon will eat them.

yeah people really seem to forget how anthropomorphic gen 1 was it gets a free pass but from gen 3 onwards they hate it

Many? That depends what you consider 'human-shaped', only Jynx springs to mind as humanesque pokemon to me...mainly because it wore lipstick and had tits :lol

are you forgeting freaking mr mime who just looks like a guy in make up.

Drowzee counts as human-shaped? :lol

Excuse, when im talking about human-shaped I think of something like Guardevoir and the likes.

Yeah, so much bias. :<

Oh well, nostalgia is really something hard to combat. I really wish people would not use it for arguments. It's fine and all until used as a basis for reasoning. =/

And yes, Drowzee is human-shaped. Just remove Blaziken's chicken head and replace it with a tapir head, you get Drowzee.

It's really hilarious, nostalgia.

I agree with you, people are basically saying that if a Pokemon walks on it's hind legs then it counts as human form. That could lead on to just about any Pokemon: Pikachu, Charmander, Mankey etc etc... even fucking Gengar or Raticate in that case.

yeah if people just say Gen 1 is the most awesome perfect generation i dont care about any other afterwards its an opinion theres no argument in that. But dont try to make a point about whats human shape and whats not when your obviously biased.

Drowzee is human shaped according to the games it's not like we're making shit up.
Look at Hypno and tell me he's not human shaped. He even holds a friggin pendulum!

But Drowzee always walks on both legs and has a human-shaped build. Charmander isn't (short arms, etc. much like a trex), Mankey isn't. Gengar is a ghost. Raticate and Pikachu can stand both feet but move on all fours.

You must be blind not to see that Drowzee has a human build. >_>

But I am not. I did point out why Gen 1 are.

Hell, even those that do not belong in human-shaped have "humanoid" builds like Nidoking/queen and Rhydon.

Out of curiosity what are the likes of Guardevoir for you?

it wasnt meant for you it was meant for the argument about some being human shape. How could people whine about grandevoir when gen 1 had freaking mr mime.

Ah I see. Thanks.

And yeah, fat ass is fat, but it's still human like.

Hell, Rhydon is like "I'm going to make Rhyhorn into a furry!"

Even discounting Drowzee, we have a lot of humanoid Pokemons from the 1st generation. Anybody wants to disprove likes of Jynx, Mr. Mime, Hypno, Alakazam? Hell, Mr. Mime is simply a goddamn mime, he is probably the closest pokemon ever got to being a human-like!
