Meh. Someone posted this article on Facebook:

I stated that there wasn't any fraud with the primary, and that Democrats need not fall into the same trap as Republicans of thinking fraud is rampant. I got this response:

Unfortunately, we can not no longer categorize Citizens as "Democrats versus Republicans." If the Democrats had no fraudulent actions, then their actions should have been cleaner, as it relates to Senator Sanders. The Democrats left a messy, messy paper trail. Now, Citizens can CHOOSE to hush, look the other way, vote for Clinton, and support the Party....But I simply do not feel that any Sanders' Supporters are wrong in feeling like this. I've witnessed the cheating on a micro (local) level, so I could only imagine it on a macro level....Ballot tampering happens and what you say, "oh well, they wouldn't have won anyway." It's not right. Even if I have no chance of winning, it's NOT the Democratic Parties' responsibility to disqualify me before the voting population does..If he had no chance of winning as the Democrats denoted in their email, then why were they intimidated by him? Just let him lose graciously, but with dignity....I was never a Sanders' Supporter. I never donated one dime to him or even signed up for his email list, but I see their point. And I share the sentiments that we deserve FAIR elections across the Party lines and throughout our voting system

He elequently describes how I think of the Trump phenomenon. I'm not concerned about Trump winning as that's not going to happen, but about what it means for the future. What if somebody slicker who had charisma, who talked intelligently and had actual convictions, were to run on a similar platform or even a much more deliberately hateful one? Trump lowered the bar to the point that I don't know if any of us can anticipate what could be next.

Trump parlayed his brand and some kind of dumbfuck carny huckster charisma into a Presidential run. I don't want to completely dismiss the sentiments his run has stirred up because I understand being concerned about them, but I don't really think a "slicker Trump" can exist.

Meanwhile, in the land of Not Going with your Gut... Well... there's a lot of authors and books listed if you want to see for yourself. Also, this choice quote;

You know, when was the last time I watched a baseball game?. . . I would love to sit down and read a book, but I just don’t have the time anymore.”

Yep, I'm convinced now he is actually much worse at that style of communication ( I can't believe that's even possible). His body lanaguage was awful without the podium make him look more reasonable. All of this was also without anyone challenging him on anything he said. Can you imagine what he will look like out standing up on the stage when one of the moderators actually challenges him.

Hilary is going to get hid much harder in this debate, but I actually think this will go so much worse for Trump than the first debate did.

She's appealing to racist poor white people since she has the rich in the bag because Corbyn is a real Socialist.

You don't need to want to cut taxes on the rich while slashing welfare to get the votes of the rich when your competition probably would like to seize the means of production.

It's hard to imagine who that would be, but the absurdity of the Trump campaign has been eye opening. He is so dumb, so full of shit in such obvious ways, Republicans are so spineless, the media so distrusted due to conservative opinion news... maybe a rich psychopath without Trump's flaws or even someone operating in the interests of a foreign government could take advantage of what has been exposed here.

I mean, did you listen to her Keynote at the conference? Peggy Noonan and Joe Scarborough are super excited about "intelligent" conservatism where basically her entire argument was that Government is a force for good, that has to level the playing field, that climate change is real and the Paris agreement is a good thing, that funding to the NHS should INCREASE drastically, that any person, especially rich person, who dodges taxes will be pursued and prosecuted, that any financial advisor or CPA who helps will ALSO be pursued and prosecuted. That social justice is important, and white privilege exists, and that Government is a force for good, don't forget, it's a force for good. That the government should invest in affordable housing, infrastructure, regulation.


I mean, I felt like I was listening to Obama with a few anti-immigrant, pro-Brexit, anti-Labor comments haphazardly thrown in.

I mean that's fair, I was literally only looking at yesterday compared to today.

Important to keep in mind though that both parties have only mobilized their GOTV efforts recently. We'll get there.

Exactly. I've been saying this all week. Trump will be completely removed from his safe space, and everyone who watches will get to witness it.
Hillary might get hit a bit harder maybe, but I think she'll do better in the town hall. I can't remember who said it, but she does better at town hall debates compared to regular debates.

Assuming Hillary wins with Obama 2012 + NC, she gets 347 and Trump just barely goes over 190. Add that with a potential 6+% difference in the popular vote, the GOP would get utterly demolished this year.
