I think Bernie's speech is pretty solid. He's showing his peeps he's still on their side before getting them on board.

I hope

Twitter commentary on this Bernie speech

Starting to think this Sanders speech is going to hurt party unity.
-Ethan Klapper

Now at both conventions, there is still a lot of talk about what happened during the primaries. Bernie now listing his delegate wins.
-Dorey Scheimer

Bernie's message is all about gains won during the primary -- platform changes, "60 percent decline" in superdelegates.
-daveweigel

.@BernieSanders is not sounding like a guy who is about to give a full throated endorsement to @HillaryClinton 2nite
-Brigid Bergin

He's addressing his followers/volunteers, this is basically a thank you for what they did during the campaign.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here. I'm expecting he is going to turn this into how important it is to defeat Trump.

He'll most likely end with this by saying it's important to beat Trump and we need to rally behind Clinton. I hope he does that.

Sanders always lists his wins and accomplishments like this. He did it before endorsing Clinton too... it's just his thing.

Yeah talking to his supporters about the gains they made during and after the primary is hopefully just saying "Look at all the progress we've made, there's no reason to continue fighting against Hillary Clinton"

These new Russia developments are sobering. If I didn't live in one of the bluest states in the country it would be vastly more difficult to justify writing in for sanders

Remember when Hillary gave a tepid non-endorsement of Obama in the 2008 DNC? I remember a lot of freak outs about the possibility.

Yeah I was expecting this ishhh. Was hoping for a strong "please don't boo unite" message tho.

That went out the window when he spent a good 30 seconds lavishing in the applause over the demise of DWS

I'm not freaking out, I'm just tired of him

Yup.

If anything that campaign was worse than anything Bernie has done especially with the Florida and Michigan drama.

Guys you are going to give yourselves a heart attack if you are monitoring minute-by-minute developments for the next 100 days.

I mean the comment is both accurate and devoid of hyperbole though

  • Bernie had lots of rallies, big ones even
  • He did especially well with college aged voters
  • Even in states he held big rallies in, he often got crushed in the actual votes. The rallies didn't save him in NY, CA, etc.
Which of those points are wrong or slanderous?

Well she can find the nearest wood chipper and jump right into it. Being rich must be swell.

I feel things would have been better off if Bernie had tried to bring them down to Earth weeks/months ago. He endorsed so late I dunno if some people got enough time to come to their senses.

Yes he did well with college age people, But if you take the stance that they didn't go out and vote, then how do you explain the amount of votes he got? Yes he didn't win, but he did get 12 million votes.3 Million behind, not enough to win, but that is more than just college kids. My main grievance is the level of smugness there is, even now.

Sanders is going to push for Clinton.

Man I don't see how anyone can still say that single payer is politcaly fesable.

So much would have to change the government would have to nationalize every single insurance company in the nation.

Bernie created this monster and I'm sure A lot of his supporters will vote Clinton. This part of his movement can't be placated.
