1. Mueller likely looking at whether Trump engaged in obstruction of justice re: Flynn
2. RISCH: Did Trump *direct* you to let Flynn matter go? COMEY: "I took it as a direction"
3. Trump WH didn't tell truth about his firing. "Those were lies, plain and simple," Comey said
4. Comey couldn't discuss in open setting facts re: AG Sessions and Russians that make his involvement in investigation problematic
5. Comey leaked the Let-Flynn-Go convo to NYT, knowing it would probably trigger a special counsel
6. Comey dinged Loretta Lynch and said her instructions in HRC email probe forced him to intervene in July 5 announcement
7. "Release the tapes!" ... "Lordy, I hope there are tapes" re: Comey's convos with Trump

With the media and Washington focusing on the theater of all of this, it was refreshing to hear Comey try to remind us all that we're dealing with a serious threat from a foreign power, and we need to get our focus shifted to dealing with that threat. We needed to be reminded that this is a big deal, and the enemy is at the gates.

He touched on how flabbergasted he was that Trump was not taking this serious. and I think that is one of the most profound points of all of this crap.

He even did a "think of the kids" argument when discussing the importance of a legitimate democracy

I've been saying she's my favorite potential candidate for a while now. I think she'd be really good at unifying the party. I was very pleased with her today.

I've had several arguments with people IRL who insist democrats won't/shouldn't nominate another woman next time. It's stupid, because I think all the best potential candidates are women. Harris, Gillibrand, Cortez-Masto, even Warren. Who are the biggest male names, Cory Booker? Fuck that. Franken would be nice I just don't think he'll run. The biggest problem with Hillary's campaign wasn't that she was a woman (though she did face many additional obstacles due to that), it was that she was Hillary Clinton. I'm pretty convinced our next president will be a woman.

I agree Warren is the weakest candidate there, even if I personally am a big fan, but I'd much prefer her to Cory Booker. I'd be happy to campaign for any of those women though.

I agree with your overall point and I think even the bolded is true, but nowadays I'm a little leery of reading stuff like this. Sure, now, when she doesn't have any spotlight on her, conservatives say they'd be comfortable voting for her (or any other moderate Dem that gets these stories, like Biden). I'm just not sure I believe that when push comes to shove and the whole of right-wing media is looking for anything and everything, real or fake, to rip her apart with, and places like CNN play their both sides bullshit for months, that conservatives like these people will feel the same.
