Quite possibly, however @CNN (and FOX) have indeed produced a vast array of false news reports including those which led to the Iraq war.

K.

This is so disingenuous it's funny. Ignoring the fact that the Bush Administration cooked Intel to justify the Iraq War has to stop. When the Iraq War was started it had majority support in Congress and with the American people. A huge reason for that was bullshit speculative information that Bush and co. got from the CIA and basically warped and misused to fit their narrative. CNN isn't an intelligence agency, they reported on what the Administration at the time was telling everyone. And everyone else was reporting on it, because we thought it was the truth.

They are trying really hard to make BLM similar to Nazi's huh. Guarantee they refuse to acknowledge connections between the GOP and Alt-Right to this rise in brazen displays of Nazism.

Sorry if old, but this popped up on my Facebook feed.

From an actual resident of Charlottesville:

"There seems to be a perception from people outside of Charlottesville that what is going on here is two opposing groups coming to town and fighting some ideological battle that has gotten messy. That is not what is happening here. What is happening here is that several hate groups from the extreme right have come together under the "unite the right" banner here in our town and basically started acting as terrorists. This may seem like an exaggeration but it's not.

A church service was held over because they had surrounded the building and police had to disperse them. People had to be escorted to their cars. My friend was there with her daughter. Everywhere they meet, businesses close. We had drive by shootings yesterday from a van marked kkk.

A car plowed into a huge group of people. I'm sure you saw that on the newsfeeds. What you probably didn't see is that some of those people were on their way back from helping to repel a white supremacist march to predominately black housing development a few blocks away where they were attempting home invasions. I guess they were unfamiliar with the neighborhood. The residents repelled that one before antifa got there but there is some video of the alt-right folks getting run off on the daily progress twitter feed, if you're interested.

So, basically, what I'd like you to understand is, this IS NOT two side egging eachother on to unavoidable violence for more attention. This is one side of terrorists declaring that they can and will hold a town hostage (they've been saying it for over a month now, actually) and the town responding to that threat. The car that killed and injured people yesterday? Ohio tags. The medic tents (which treated both sides... turns out the alt right erst didn’t bring any medics. Guess they planned on doing all the injuring), water bottles, snacks, shade tents (all volunteer, donations, none shut down by police... all manned by that radical left you keep hearing about) yeah, we all live here. I saw a lot of people I knew yesterday, none of them were speaking for unite the right. None of them were escalating violence, most of them were offering some kind of aid and defending."

Edit: Do you have a link to the person who originally posted that? ^^^

Not a fan of West( he was fully on the bandwagon that Hillary was gonna be the same or WORSE than Trump and is self aggrandizing) but putting him against Paris is just about the same as pitting a kitten against a tiger.

West demolished him.

Speaking of West, he was saying on Democracy Now that he felt that Antifa saved his life.

AMY GOODMAN: ...The Guardian reported that people that night, who were responding to the torch march, were actually attacked with swung torches, pepper spray and lighter fluid.

CORNEL WEST: Absolutely. You had a number of the courageous students, of all colors, at the University of Virginia who were protesting against the neofascists themselves. The neofascists had their own ammunition. And this is very important to keep in mind, because the police, for the most part, pulled back. The next day, for example, those 20 of us who were standing, many of them clergy, we would have been crushed like cockroaches if it were not for the anarchists and the antifascists who approached, over 300, 350 antifascists. We just had 20. And we’re singing "This Little Light of Mine," you know what I mean? So that the —

AMY GOODMAN: "Antifa" meaning antifascist.

CORNEL WEST: The antifascists, and then, crucial, the anarchists, because they saved our lives, actually. We would have been completely crushed, and I’ll never forget that. Meaning what? Meaning that you had the police holding back, on the one hand, so we couldn’t even get arrested. We were there to get arrested. We couldn’t get arrested, because the police had pulled back, and just allowing fellow citizens to go at each other, you see, and with all of the consequences that would follow therefrom.

Ummm... This is pretty bad, right?

Justice demands 1.3M IP addresses related to Trump resistance site

The Department of Justice has requested information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Trump, the Los Angeles-based Dreamhost said in a blog post published on Monday.

DreamHost Announcements - We Fight for the Users

The request from the DOJ demands that DreamHost hand over 1.3 million visitor IP addresses — in addition to contact information, email content, and photos of thousands of people — in an effort to determine who simply visited the website. (Our customer has also been notified of the pending warrant on the account.)

That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution’s First Amendment. That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone’s mind.

White people horrible as usual.

white people hitting peak "both sides are the same" moderate darlings status

the remaining 8 percent have ascended even further beyond to become one with the eternal nothingness

demolish them, emotionally and physically

smash the statues and build memorials to the horrors of the confederate's war to preserve slavery at their sites

tell the neoconfederates not to worry, because we're not erasing their history - we want no one to ever forget their crimes

Every time I'm reminded of the very real possibility that the government could shut down or default, I just think of how fucking nuts it would be to imagine an Obama presidency where he couldn't even get Pelosi and Reid to do the bare minimum to keep the government running.

So was it for any visitor to the website, period?

That's how I read it, yes.

Who the fuck cares?

Not sure if serious. :p

Consistently, in dictatorial regimes, political dissidents are amongst the first to be outed, ostracised, and rounded-up. Germany in the '30s and the Cold War, Russia, China, South America, Middle East. As the blog states

While we have no insight into the affidavit for the search warrant (those records are sealed), the DOJ has recently asked DreamHost to provide all information available to us about this website, its owner, and, more importantly, its visitors.

Now it's a big leap from asking for info to what I mentioned above, but three things to consider.

1) There's been no implication of any crimes committed. Yes, affidavit is sealed, so maybe there is a crime there, but it seems awfully like a fishing expedition on the face of it. If there were evidence of a crime by indiviual or individuals, surely the warrant would be smaller in scope?
2) Imagine the administration doing this with "Small Government", "States Rights" or "White Nationalist" websites. They wouldn't, and even if they did, the owners, operators and visitors would (understandably) complain of federal over-reach.
3) I visted the site in question, and have it bookmarked. I am not a US citizen, but since the request was for everything, my data would be swept up alongside everyone else's.

I'm fascinated that this is the final straw for all these CEOs jumping ship. Like, I get why this is bad, but you'd think these guys would've gone ages ago, or not gotten on the ship in the first place.

It may be they've now seen how ineffectual he is... GOP Presidency and Congress, and they've not passed anything worth a damn. He still whines about fake news, wibbles about Hillary, and hasn't learned a single thing. If you're a business, why are you going to continue to taint yourself with Trump's image when you're not even going to get anything worthwhile out of it? Jumping ship now saves your image in the long-run, and makes you look good for condemning Nazis, which even the President took two days to do.

I've honestly never understood the desire to display a confederate flag or other similar displays. If I hailed from a long line of ancestors who were treasonous dipshit losers who got dumpstered in a war, I'd keep it to myself.

Holy shit! Is this a straight up violation of the First Amendment, or am I bedwetting?

Justice demands 1.3M IP addresses related to Trump resistance site

The Department of Justice has requested information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Trump, the Los Angeles-based Dreamhost said in a blog post published on Monday.

“In essence, the Search Warrant not only aims to identify the political dissidents of the current administration, but attempts to identify and understand what content each of these dissidents viewed on the website,” the company’s general counsel, Chris Ghazarian, said in a legal argument opposing the request.
