Likely nominations
• Astro Bot
• Metaphor: ReFantazio
• Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
• Balatro
• Silent Hill 2
• Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Maybe get some noms
• Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
• Dragon's Dogma II
• Helldivers II
• UFO 50
• Animal Well
• The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
• Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
• Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II
• Black Myth: Wukong
• Satisfactory
• The Plucky Squire
• Hades II

Unknown but likely
• S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
• Metal Gear Solid: Delta

Indiana Jones & The Great Circle would be on the list but is too late to make the cut for 2024.

Looks common sense, I think MSFS2024 is missing though. From what I've seen this is going to pull in a lot of casuals

I don't like it but... DA: The Veilguard will win GOTY.

In fact, the game will win at least 30 GOTY awards. I'm 100% sure.

My bet is either Astro Bot or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 😎

Probable Dragon Age win since it seems to be good, has some highly marketable and hipster crowd pleasing bullshit but can't shake paid shills dishonesty, I still remember AC Valhalla being cocksucked around to infinity and beyond like it was the second coming of Jeezuz and the best AC and I fell for it, and it was just a huge MEH like almost every AC that had to force myself to finish because I was grumpy I paid half price for it 🤨🤌🏻

I would like Indiana to make the cut like fuck, but next year it is, and for MachineGames to kick it out of the park, but I'm afraid that all depends on how many times Todd Howard put his fingers up his ass after eating a monstruous enchilada and decided to smear MachineGames work with his 'creative direction' 🥲

Astro Bot and Metaphor are clear front runners at this point. I am sure some rotation of those other games will fill the remaining slots, but I think the vast majority of wins will go to those two.

I want to say STALKER or Indiana Jones might have a shot as well, but I don't really believe that. STALKER is too niche especially.

Batman Arkham Shadow is most definitely a legit contender for Game of the Year.
After watching gameplay of it, I significantly doubt it. It's a good game for VR but in general, it's weak and very repetitive. Trying to adapt the arkham series combat to the game was a mistake. The reason the combat makes sense on a controller is that as a beat em um, it's easy to spam buttons on a controller. In VR, the 4 button press becomes 4 punches. Realistically you have to throw at least 1 punch to defeat an enemy but the amount of punches needed varies so x. There are also an unknown amount of enemies per encounter so y. We now have an equation where an encounter = (1+x)y punches. So what you've created is not a batman game but a fitness game identifying as a batman game and fitness games don't win GOTY.

I mean, there is no way Dragon Age(a game directed by a man who says he's a woman and written by a man who says he's neither a man or a woman)can't not take all the awards this year,is there, lol.Stunning and brave!

Unicorn Overlord, Astrobot, Metaphor, or Rebirth goty.

My GotY is Erdtree and monke but they won't be counted.

It was a great year in gaming but it would be a damn shame for Veilguard to take the goty award since even with no woke it is only good and not great. We've had a few great games this year so they should beat Veilguard. 84 is not goty material. Especially when the bias was probably working for you and not against you.

VII Rebirth has my vote, but everyone knows I'm a giant VII fanboy and think Rebirth is the game of the decade.

Outside of that Astrobot surprised the hell out of me with how good it is. Still need to play Metaphor, but not sure if it will click with me.

I'm hoping Astro Bot gets as many as possible. Also deserving of a bunch is Silent Hill 2, one of the best remakes in years.

And in a better world, Alone in the Dark would get some nominations too.

FF7 Rebirth for me, followed by Metaphor and then Silent Hill 2.

Two of the best JRPG's ever and the best horror game ever remade to an amazing standard.

A fantastic year for games. Thank you Japan! Arigatou Gozaimasu!

Question. I really liked Remake except the final boss run was exhausting and took too long. I'm guessing Rebirth has the same (no spoilers) and the last boss sequence is like 2 hours long?

Rebirth is a much better game than Remake, the combat system is way more refined and improved, and of course the open world scope is insanely big and gorgeous.

... but yes, the end boss literally is like an hour long (and honestly the worst part of the game to me). On the plus side it takes about 120 hours to get to that point! The game is ridiculously large even if you skip a lot of the side quest.

Imagine playing games for all these years and not being able to tell whether a gameplay loop will wear itself out just by watching gameplay? Seriously low iq my dude..... You're probably one of those who had to buy games like anthem, concord, etc and play it to figure out that it was a shit game.
