I imagine that is because of two things:

1) Sony wants to sell PS4 consoles, so yeah, lets be quiet about the PS5.

2) PS5 will have a line up of exclusives, so let's hype the PS4 now and then, later, let's go PS5 full power. No competition between the two.
 
There's so much hype and excitement with gamers for the ps5. Huge anticipation for the proper reveal and by far the bigger fanbase.

MS tried baiting Sony into an early reveal but all we got was tidbits. Cards kept firmly close to chest.
 
Sure, Xbox One Series X gets more attention right now because there is more revealed about it, but that doesn't mean jack shit until an actual product, price, and release date is unveiled.

A MS employee (and a PR mouthpiece) isnt a good judge here as they come with a bias

The PS1 was significantly weaker than the 64...Playstation won

The PS2 was weaker than both the Cube and Box...Playstation won

The Wii was weaker by a good deal then the360/PS3...Nintendo won

The DS was weaker than the PSP, 3DS weaker than Vita...Nintendo won

People go where the games are and right now the games are on playstation, that may change in the future...but for now Playstation and Nintendo have momentum due to this...

Microsoft Has made a lot of leeway with the xbox one and the many improvements they've made throughout the generation, however they picked up the stigma "no games" as stupid as it is for a reason...

Right now xbox fans are tickled pink over the xbox specs as they should be they're awesome, but right now that's all they have outside of a cinematic of Halo infinite. When you have amazing looking next Gen. Games to tout and shout about then that's great come up dance and brag, but right now it seems like most of you are just trying to pick playstation apart because you know you've got nothing to show except "potentially" better specs...

As I've stated before even if the playstation 5 comes in 9.2 Tera flops, that doesn't change the fact that has so many amazing games already coming out for the PS4 this year, and Sony likely has big name games in the Wings for PS5, not to mention the fact that almost all of the current games will likely have improvements through the PS5's software...

I truly believe Sony is letting its current system sell on games, and when they feel the time is right most likely in the next couple months as I've said time and time again they will have a giant extravaganza reveal just as they did for the playstation 3 and just as they did for the playstation 4.

how far in advance was the switch revealed, like five months? I think Sony is fine. I'm just extremely happy that they choose to focus on releasing Great caliber games so close to the start of the next Gen. keep doing that and I don't need anything else from them to stay excited.

As of now objectively the series X seems really powerful and the ps5 is RDNA2 that's all we know that's been new it the last 4 months.I admit it has been funny following the meltdowns.But sometimes you can try to be the better man and just turn it down a notch.

Whichever console will be the most powerful is totally irrelevant just play what you want to play and stop picking at the other "side", that's just childish.

Perhaps you've assumed my feelings on the matter a bit too harshly as , you yourself stated: English isnt your native language.

The majority of gamers/consumers are almost oblivious to what happens on forums.
All they see is a logo popping up on social media so they're reminded that PS5 is coming.

No you misunderstood Sony doesn't care about your opinion because you are nobody ...It's not an insult I am nobody too the main difference is that I know that I'm not entitled to get information.That's why I try to leave insiders "alone".Because if I were at their place why would I care about random nobody n°254 to risk getting uncovered.Both our voices aren't even droplets in a galaxy of information.
So why should my opinion matter sony probably has a plan (at least they should) but my shitty opinion is so irrelevant considering all that we don't know and don't even suspect.So we can only and when they will talk be either happy or not about the specs.
But fuck we are gamers almost every media shits on us we've been here for 50 years and are still getting blamed for bullshit so pick whatever side you want but just be civil joke if you want but we are already viewed as a toxic community let's not add more fuel to the fire.

I am completely comfortable with Sony's silence until Ghost of Tsushima is released and its promotion ended. Regarding E3 in internet era, it is already a relic of the past. It only survived for so long because companies are run by old geezers. Nowadays companies can do good without any of those events and press. Even by offering online WIP demos if there is a need for it.

As for now the only compelling thing about Series X is its hardware but it needs new breathtaking games. Not just next installments with modern bells and whistles.

1) Penello would know an ass load more than any Gaffer here. I'd take his word above the armchair specialists on this forum any day of the week and twice on Sundays, Taco Tuesdays and Freaky Fridays!

2) I cant swing the"right now, the games are on Playstation" as I simply dont share that perspective. At All. Sony games dont interest me. If you do, thats great! I just dont share your sentiments on the matter. And there are many, many more who feel the same way.

3) I suppose you're attempting to foreshadow your thoughts about power by naming off past generations? Yea, not buying it. Power is a big deal. It's not the only metric by which to gauge success for a specific console, but it plays a huge role - if it didn't - we wouldnt have new generations to begin with. And if Sony believed that themselves, they'd just outright cancel the PS5 instead of making excuses for it. Cause guess what; POWER MATTERS. And it'll matter among the majority of the gaming community if the PS5 happens to be 9TF in light of Series X 12Tf. This is the start of a NEW GENERATION. Power is always one of the first bullet points they touch on in the initial pitch when introducing new generations. Check your history.

Why is so difficult for Xfans to understand that. Sony has actual PS4 products that the gaming public is looking forward to still. Their hardware and software sells for this gen hasn't taken the nosedive into oblivion like Microsoft has. There's a reason Xbox wants this gen to end asap.

To present hardware power to the masses you need proper games for it. Not just its specifications.
 
Sometimes seeing people that desperate for their side or angry for lack information I would like sony to announce the ps5 showing games and the console but not the specs ...
I feel like some could kill eachothers if it happened.
 
They're not wrong but we will know who's gonna "win" in June when both have shown their launch and year1 games. But so far MS has the upper hand with games like Halo, Hellblade 2 and the ARPG from Playground Games being very far along according to shinobi602.

Sony is probably doing whatever revisions they can. Probably caught off guard by MS specs. Nothing major probably just tweaking clock speeds. They sure as hell not gonna release a 9.2 and have that prophecy come true. Probably 10tf.

All consoles are just about irrelevant at this time. Sure they have a great title here or there, but this isnt 1990 or 200 when there were only a few devs. There is talent everywhere putting out a helluva lot better product than all of them combined. All you have to do is look at what is most played, none of them are exclsuives. And spare me the Nintendo Smash Bros. 20th iteration

Hellblade 2 and Project Mara.
If I had to make some VERY educated guesses, this year, I'd say we'll also 100% see what most of the other studios have been working on. Playground will definitely reveal their ARPG, The Initiative seems to be pretty far into development now too, and something that Double Fine has been working on next to Psychonauts 2. Forza Motorsport 8 as well.
Undead, Compulsion etc. will probably show some stuff at smaller events like those X0 things or Game Awards stuff.

It is OK. It is your opinion. There are many here who share similar thoughts to yours. In reality I do not know the truth behind Sony's choices. I just guess their reasoning.

We just need to wait and see what happens.

I mean Sony isn't doing it, so someone has to do it. Though I don't put much stock on those rumors about pricing issues and part shortages, it doesn't help them any from being dead quiet with that circulating the internet. Like the camera that supposedly got scrap.

I understand you like the brand and console and all(so do I) so this information would be a welcoming breath of fresh air, instead we just got silence, a weird looking dev kit and their unique (insert pretend to be shocked.gif) logo and a tidbit of info on expected things like Navi and zen, PS4/PSVR compatibility, only useful and interesting info was the damn controllers lol.

I know you probably think it's concern trolling but there are those interested in their next gen console that would really like to know exactly what this console will look like and it's performance.

Btw. bunch of PS4 owners have exclusive games ( at least one of them will be a GOTY contender ) to play in the next coming weeks and months, so, PS5 can wait. On the other hand, Xbox.....yeah, 12 TF RDNA 2.
