So I Think we're just gonna get every character from teh MCU at this point.

That means

Iron Man
War Machine
Black Widow
Thor
Hulk
Hawkeye
Captain America
The Falcon
Winter Soldier
Scarlet Witch
Starlord
Rocket
Daredevil
Vision
Ant Man
Quicksilver
Luke Cage
The Punisher
Daredevil
Black Panther
Spider Man
Doc Strange
Iron Fist
Thanos.
As mentioned earlier, Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch are far from guarantees. They've been banned more often than they've been allowed (not even Disney Infinity could get them, but Lego Avengers did). Unless Capcom wants the Maximoff Twins as badly as they did for Storm/Sentinel/Suma in MvC4, they likely aren't coming. I say this as someone who's 2nd & 3rd favorite Avengers are Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch.

Quicksilver is part of the Fox deal.
Both of the Maximoff Twins are.

Great News!

but a Marvel vs. Capcom with no Wolverine???

it's like a Street Fighter without Ryu. I hope he's added as a DLC character or something.

can black panther even do a sweet divekick?

yes

Marvel doesn't wan to give Fox free advertising. There's an X-Men/F4 video game ban that's been active since late 2014/early 2015.

I wanted to ask you, couldn't Marvel lessen the "blow" of free Fox advertising by including the 80s and 90s versions X-men. Isn't that a decent compromise?

Well, if it's gonna be 2v2 a smaller roster than MvC3 is inevitable.

Is this 2v2 rumor actually gaining traction? I can deal with no X-Men, there's always another Marvel character who can substitute their movesets. 2v2 is a much bigger step back.

I wouldn't mind if it were an additional mode, I know some people like 2v2 and I don't know why that couldn't be accommodated. To lose 3v3 entirely though? I'm not on board with that.

Nope, it's still considered as free advertising for Fox in the eyes of Ike Perlmutter. And even then, they'd go for the modern comic book designs.

I legit forgot that Capcom had a dinosaur as a character in Red Earth so Ratholos and Devil Dinosaur are plausible characters. Then you remember that Nemesis and Hugo are tall as hell in their respective fighting games.

But Scarlet Witch is part of the MCU.

Do we expect Spider-Man will be retained? Is he considered part of the MCU now? If so, should that not open the door for a bunch of Spider-Man villains for consideration? Venom, Carnage, DocOc, GreenG, etc?

But Scarlet Witch is part of the MCU.
Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch are both shared between Marvel Studios & Fox as far as rights go. As such, they've been left out of every post-CoC game except Lego Avengers.

For example, Disney Infinity tried to get MCU Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch for Disney Infinity 3.0, but Marvel said no to both.

Spider-Man's pretty much a guarantee. Marvel are working with Sony for a first party game, he's part of the MCU now and game rights don't seem to be an issue for him now.

And that probably does mean that his villains are also up for grabs.

Spider-Man & the characters associated with him are in the clear.

I'm not 100% convinced about the 2v2 rumor, yet.

I mean, that guy did also mention no X-Men characters...but to be fair, a lot of people were already predicting that, due to the ban. Neoxon in particular has been banging on about it for years at this point.

so this applies to the comics also?

I'm not sure I understand.

As far as Marvel's movies go, they can't use anybody that is related to the X-Men of FF. So Marvel has been choosing not to put those characters in videogames for the past two years or so.

This has nothing to do with the comics. They could use them if they want (from my understanding), but choose not to use characters they do not have total control over.

Then why does nobody's list have any Spider-Man villains on it? :-(

He has probably the deepest poll of viable villains of any Marvel hero. Several true icons, some of which this would not be their first Marvel game.

They are, but they tend to get shafted in marketing and such. Because of the nature of being shared with FOX.

Future Fight for example is heavily MCU focused while also filling in the ranks with TV and comic-only characters, but Wanda is entirely absent.

Oh ok, Thanks for the insight. I thought Scarlet Witch would be a shoo in, guess not.

Im hearing that they're doing the same in the comics, F4 being cancelled and then fucking with the Xmen books (killing off) on purpose to turn people away

What would be the main bad guys in the MCU that could make it in besides Thanos?

Loki, Ultron, Winter Soldier and Kingpin are the most notable ones. Upcoming we have

- Vulture (Spider-Man: Homecoming)
- Ego the Living Planet (Guardians 2),
- Hela, Skurge (minor antagonist), possibly Surtur (Thor: Ragnarok)
- Erik Killmonger, M'Baku the Man-Ape (minor or cameo), Ulysses Klaue/Klaw (Black Panther)
- Thanos (Infinity War)

Marvel and Capcom are probably conspiring to take you for a ride on the DLC train.

"After listening to fans Marvel vs. Capcom 4 will see the return of Wolverine and Magneto in our next DLC pack".

I think Asura has a chance. He's the most well known Capcom character made since UMvC3 I feel. I think people thought he was gonna be in Ultra Street Fighter IV as well lol.

Nawp, FF books didn't sell. That's why they cancelled them. I mean...if that were true, Doom sure as fuck wouldn't be Iron Man right now.

THey've continously put out multiple X-books, so people should stop saying that. lol.

You're literally suggesting that Marvel is wasting money on artists, writers, production of a book just to turn people away from movies. :P

They're even launching two new x-books soon based on the 90s hey day team conventions.

That's my assumption, but I'm also still optimistic that a few X-Men will trickle into the base game anyway.
