I really hope they reign in the self-hype this time around. It sort of backfired on BTW. They've done a decent job up until now in that regard, so I hope they don't blow it.

No. She has a good reputation for WRITING her own lyrics, though not in the objective sense. She kind of enjoys going a bit random with her lyrics which I appreciate since the randomness honestly works for her, but I don't think I can trust her to write a conventionally GREAT song that professional pop songwriters would sell off to artists.

Although I do think these are fucking great, by any pop standard:

All I can hear in my head is similar to the chorus of "Coming Home" by P. Diddy and Skylar Grey, lol.

Sing "The Applause, The Applause" in the vein of "I'm coming home, coming home" and that's what I hear in my head for some reason. Except she sings that in the second third of the chorus, so it's kind of like the "ooh oooh oooooh, caught in a bad romance" part of BR. *shrug*
