hostage situations take a while. i've been involved on the outside of one, the negotiators do all the heavy lifting initially to avoid any kind of bloodshed from either the gunman or the hostages. only when that falls through (it could take an hour or 10+ hours depending on how much progress they feel like they're getting) do the armed tactical team start making moves. maybe canada handles it differently though, i dunno

There's been a curious lack of information considering there's direct communication with the employees that are outside the police perimeter and those that are on the roof. None of them want to go on record with anything.

A theory's being floated by TVA's LCN that this may have been a swatting attempt.

Police have been coming in and out of the building for a good while now.

1: Genuinely care about the people on that roof. I do. Many do.

2: Use the people on that roof as a moral cudgel to beat people with.

So? What CAN you do now? Join the police force to help people? Collect money for the victims? Nothing.
It will be another case of "thoughts and prayers".

I don't see anybody wishing them to die or something. It is a bad situation, but nothing you can do.

ihope everything goes alright but there's not much else i can say with so little known.

i'm just surprised that they are at the office at all, i thought most devs would be in a WFH status by now

Hope they are all ok, nobody needs extra stress at the moment.

Reports are of a large muscular person with a buzz cut, so the staff are being told to keep an eye open for any suspicious women.

So you wouldn't care if people died today? Whether it be a hostage situation or prank call, you'd still laugh at the fact? Console warriors can joke all they want with each other, but this is no different from 9/11, whether it be hundreds or thousands of lives at stake. Its acceptable to joke after the fact, but not while people are shitting themselves, not knowing whether or not they will see their loved ones again... Not funny.
