PPSSPP 0.75 released

They don't upload them on the official site anymore, they just update it from the Github these days:

https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/

Emucr get the updates from the Github.

Are we looking at the same download page? There's a compiled version of each revision for windows and android. It's technically just an iframe of orphis's automated builds, but they're still being pulled down from github per rev and consolidated all on the same page.

You're right, for some reason my browser didn't load that part of the page last time, I thought that they have removed them from the site...

I wouldn't really agree with that. All the rendering is still done on the GPU, and unlike PS2 it's even using hardware vertex transformation. It's just really that much of a performance difference between a modern PC GPU and a PSP, even filtered through emulation and rendered at higher resolution.

Vertex Shaders for Allegrex's VFPU code too?

No, but we do use vertex shaders to simulate the PSP's HW T&L, and this helps a lot. The PSP has a basic fixed function T&L unit, with max four lights and some skinning support, and many games make use of it instead of doing transform with the VFPU like they would have had to do on the PS2.

The VFPU is currently emulated in a simple way using non-SIMD SSE, and plain VFP on ARM. There's much to do to make it faster but it's already faster than necessary on any modern x86 CPU.

I'm the main author for those of you who don't recognize my old nick :)

Just want to drop in and say that you guys really rock for coming up with such a fantastic emulator in such a short period of time. Bonus points for using C++ instead of Java. :D

The PC version especially runs really great for the games that are supported. (even some that're not in the list, like Tekken DR!)

Hope to see the compatibility list grow in the near future!

Excelent emulation for being just months old. I have the gut feeling this will be THE PSP emulator.

Indeed, this will be THE PSP emulator in the future, similar to PCSX2 being THE PS2 emulator and Dolphin being THE Wii/GC emulator. Fantastic that it's run by one of the guys who worked on Dolphin.

I look forward to seeing how it is in future releases :) keep this thread updated.

Most excellent work. :) Looking forward to you guys continuing to work on this and improve compatibility.

Ewww touch screen controls. Don't see how anyone can live with that for more than a minute unless you're playing a turn based game.

Will try this out on my tablet. Looks very promising especially considering how early into the project it is.

I use epsxe on my tablet with touch screen controls and it works fine. Can postition and resize each button/stick to make it comfortable for your thumbs to fall on. Much better than I had anticipated in fact.

Missed the part where it was also for the PC and supports keyboard/gamepad controls with buttons, or are you here to shit on the parade?

Someone explain what's needed with this sonicstage, there is nothing on their FAQ about it.

Apparently you can only get music playback via Sony's Sonic Stage software, just like JPCSP. You can get the web based installer/downloader from Sony here.

Only works for the PC version, that goes without saying.

Uhh it says Sony took the download down.

Does anyone have a reliable download link for it?

Holy crap, sorry about that, they took it down rather recently too! (29th March 2013)

I don't know about the legalities of uploading it myself, I still have all the original setup files of the Sonic Stage CP 4.3 installers. It it were legal, I wouldn't mind uploading it for gaffers.

Can't grab it from that link. Seems Sony doesn't like this emu: http://www.sony-asia.com/support/announcement/524893
Any help on Sonic Stage please?

Guess this is a good way to play Brave Story New Traveler since my copy I bought on PSN, wont work on my Vita. (its in my history list)

if anybody wants sonicstage it's up on sony vaio ftp site here:
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/Downloads/SO/A/SST/SOASST-01198207-UN.exe

Thanks for that, it's much bigger than the older 4.3 one though. (87MB vs 36MB)

I've decided to upload the older Sonic Stage 4.3 CP standalone installers (which worked for JPCSP) for any gaffers still interested in it:-

Sonic Stage 4.3 CP

Download it, extract using 7zip or Winrar, and run installers in folders SsSetup and SsAddon. Other folders contain installers for the extra optional components (bloatware). Install them if you want.

I just tried a bunch of ISOs that were lying around my hard drive on my Xperia Z.

It says that Key to Heaven and Tales of Eternia are corrupt. :/ I must have ripped them wrong or something.

Puzzle Quest doesn't load after the initial "Press O" prompt.

Lumines loads but it has issues with its choppy framerate. I wouldn't consider it playable at this point, but maybe I can mess around with some settings or something. The original Lumines on my phone would be the best shit ever.

only oioitff build can use sonicstage right? the regular one on their site doesn't have any music/at3 support at all?

Awesome thanks, I'll install it when I check out the emulator.

Yeah the compatibility list is seriously outdated, check out the forums for the real current compatibility, it's growing too fast to keep up :)

Note that there is a branch by someone named oioitff out there that fixes many audio/video playback issues, at least on Windows. I've been using it for a week or two and it works really well.

Here is his latest build:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1ftGc2t9-dZZVJfX00yZXNPZnc/edit?usp=sharing

Fun fact: running most PSP games I tried in 4x native resolution on my PC causes an average GPU load of 2%. Really puts things into perspective.

I recommend that you guys give the dev builds a look too:

http://www.emucr.com/search/label/PPSSPP?&max-results=12

The guys behind it make daily updates on it.

Sadly, neither of those works with my controller on PC (neither through direct input nor XInput via x360ce). It works fine in the official 0.75 release..

This looks really awesome, though I honestly can't remember the last time I played a PSP game or had the desire to.

Can I decrypt and PSP games I happened to have purchased from PSN when I was using my Go? I think it was like 10 games and I don't really have space on my Vita. Would be kinda fun to check them out on my laptop.
