Pragmata - Reviews Thread

> Brand new AAA IP that takes legitimate risks.
> Innovative new mechanics that help the game differentiate itself from the rest.
> $60 instead of the 70-80 bucks asked nowadays.
> No open-world bloat.

Can we have more of these?
Quite funny that it's cheaper because it's a game that respects our time / offers new ideas rather than the bloat everyone else is offering at $80

I'll be sincere. I'm one of the biggest Capcom shills in this forum, but Crimson Desert has my full attention.

I'm there for Pragmata Day 1 because I'm been waiting years for this game, but ngl that my hype died up only due to how addicting CD has been. Fuck, I'll have to finish Pragmata in a single weekend.

It's a weird distinction to make

"If you take out cutscenes from a game, its shorter"

Duh?
It's not a weird distinction when the game is already on the shorter side. Now remove the passive cutscenes (which yes, most people don't skip on a first playthrough) and the actual interactive gameplay you control shrinks dramatically

Suddenly you're looking at something embarrassingly brief for the price. That's why I made the distinction

And that's why I won't be picking up Pragmata at launch. I think it's embarrassingly short for €60

Capcom is on fire this year.

First RE9 and then MHStories 3 and now Pragmata and we still have Onimusha to look forward to.

I expected lower reviews as I thought the shield stripping mechanic would turn some people off and/or wear out its welcome. Tempted to pre-order for those costumes. Wonder if the end game is a raid mode.

Yeah, i am not a fan of these short, cinematic games as well...but lots of people have pretty limited time to play. So this is the ideal game for them I guess.

I'm glad to hear this is short. I prefer short games because family life leaves me with little free time. It's nice to have a modern, unique game that can fill that void for me rather than resorting to indie side scrollers. I've just bought this!

Opencritic has more reviews and better rating than Metacritic

I never understand these websites and they way the operate

So? The gameplay for new Onimusha looks fucking awesome so far….to me that far more important than Jean Reno.
I dunno. The gameplay they've shown so far look alright. But I need a demo to make my decision. That being said, if they had Jean Reno, my decision would be much easier.

Oh damn, forgot this comes out in a few days.

The demo was excellent and I can't wait to see how the hub and the rest of the game is tied together.

People said the same thing with Pragmata until they played demo….don't judge gameplay too soon especially when it comes to Capcom games.

Got my preorder already when it was available, but I'm not so keen on all the media/influencer hype glazing a "new IP" by Capcom etc. True in todays age of sequelitis a new original title can be riveting but I'm not convinced that this game wasn't turned around during development to what it became today, to not lose the time and money already invested into it.

To me its really just a variation on the classic RE gameplay of late set in space and seemingly heavily toned down weirdness from the original trailer(s). And the gameplay has its roots back in Dino Crisis 2, which I love btw. RE9 was a big disappointment to me so I'm hoping this one holds up, which judging by a few reviews it seems to. My chief complaint after the boring stalker segments in RE9 is the lack of focus with each character's gameplay sections, instead being diet bite-sized versions that have little to offer in terms of surprise and reward, instead feeling like both retreading old ground but with such a limited scope that it was a letdown.

This game seems to alleviate that thankfully with a few saying that even the simpod training/challenges are both fun and rewarding so that makes me happy, plus the upgrades and such. I do appreciate the fair price at launch, that's generous. I enjoyed the demo quite a bit.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a huge new IP for them. Capcom keeping the garden fresh.

For some reason this game is like an odd mishmash of some of my old favs. Parasite Eve meets Nier Automata meets Bioshock.

I loved the demo and its soundtrack.

But I'm aiming for the Yotei platinum trophy.

And Saros is high on my list of priorities, but when the price drops, I'll definitely play this new CapGOD IP.

Nice, these scores are higher than I expected. I might buy it on release but with Hades 2and Saros releasing it might take a while before I get to playing this.
