I was just gonna type the exact same thing. Someone's gonna believe a global launch from the same people who were saying AS RECENTLY AS LAST WEEK that the PS3 was on track for spring?

Sorry, but :lol :lol Oh, they'll launch somewhere in November, no doubt. Maybe even in all three major regions. But it'll be the same as the 360s "launch": A Launch-Lite in November, a Launch-Lite in January, a Launch-Lite in April...

:(

Sadly, you are probably right.

Microsoft's shortages will be nothing compared to this November.

All software will be released on the BD format for the purpose of preventing piracy
Impressive. Though, I doubt that publishers are exactly happy about that. Looks like they're going to shove enough discs into production to try and bring the overall costs down more quickly. Not sure what to make of the assumed HDD comment, though.

not necessarily. at what cost to sony? just gives MS a reason to drop the core pack finally. And those millions of units....HOLY COW. if sony pulls it off they will own christmas. Now are they saying 1 million units per month up until launch produced or they'll be ramped up to 1 million units per month by launch and therefore after? that reads 2 different ways.

Sony today announced that not only is the PlayStation 3 to be 100% backwards compatible, but all legacy titles played on the system will be displayed at high-definition resolutions. The Xbox 360 currently does the same thing and the result on that end is much sharper image quality for older games.

Other key features of the system that the electronics giant has pointed out so far are full Blu-ray support, the latest HDMI connection, broadband and wireless connectivity and HDD support. This is all old new, but we're just posting it as it comes in. Stay tuned...

Oh man, this is so great.

has a price OFFICIALLY been set though?

They really wouldn't need to... they've already generated an insane amount of hype right now.

AWESOME.

PS3のスペックについては、2.5インチの60GバイトHDDやLinux OSを搭載することを明らかにした。また、PS3用のゲームはすべてBD-ROMとし、全世界で月間1000万枚のBD-ROMを生産できる体制を整えるとした。

I don't know if this is feasible, especially for PS2 shit because of the weird rendering voodoo it uses, but I like the cut of that jib if it's possible, yes plz
