Not necessarily respect, because why would you want to respect a racist narrow-minded bigot, but yes, all Americans should recognize him as president. Especially if the CNN projection turns out to be correct and he'll end up with more popular votes than Hillary.
A president isn't protected against criticism, so I'm all for protests whenever he says something stupid. But for better or worse, he's a democratically elected soon to be president.

Not counting the numerous instances of Bush Jr. being a massive asshole, I can't help but think he was a very goofy/charismatic/funny to look at guy. When he wasn't fucking up the US with his shitty foreign policies. The meme material you could make of him was ridiculous. Perhaps because his appearance reminds me of my grandfather, it kinda made me nostalgic.
When this first happened, i thought damn, mah president can DODGE. Just goes back to the podium after first shoe, and calmly awaits the second.
