Wait, looking at the drinking game rules, you guys finished the bottle, right?

Don't skip going big league.

And how did that Muppet make bigly and big league both seem so douchy?

Having this on in the background while doing other stuff and it is sort of fascinating. Trump just drifts all over the place. He's answering a question on why he hasn't released his tax returns and somehow he ends up rambling about infrastructure? Then he angrily shouts a lot in response to Holt saying he supported the Iraq war and completely un-ironically drops a 'ALSO I HAVE GREAT TEMPERAMENT' after he's done shouting. Amazing.

This is the kind of shit that makes my skin crawl, and what will enable a Trump presidency. I gotta say, the far-right's constant anti-Hillary blather is working, and it's gonna send us all to hell.

#HopiumDying

Yeah, but for every anti-Hillary derangement syndrome sufferer, there's plenty of Trump arrangement also. I've heard talk from a lot of Mexican-Americans and Hispanics that Trump will implant a chip in them or something.

It's insane also that somebody thinks Trump's chaos will be contained to America only, as if that would be a good thing.

We Mexicans, of course, know that Trump's mere candidacy is wreaking havoc on our economy and politics already.

I hope also that Obama shuts down all that Hillary hate. I've had to contend laughter at some friends and family members who worship Obama but think Hillary is some sort of secret Republican and anti-LGBT person for not supporting gay marriage in the 2000s, when neither Bernie or Obama did either. I've managed to shut up a lot of them with "Well, if Hillary's a anti-gay bigot, guess what Obama is?".

The same goes for foreign policy, blaming Hillary for the Iraq War, as if she was president between 2001 and 2009. Again, if you didn't like America's foreign policy between 2009 and 2012, blame Obama, not just Hillary.

That stumps them.

Can one of the debate questions be "Donald, can you please tell us what you think the word temperament means?"

I think I have great temperament. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I've done, I've had tremendous success. I think I've done a lot.

Whelp, I was in the "never Hillary" Millennial camp, but no more. This is a national crisis. I'm with her now. (Sorry Gary).

Trump could literally destroy the world. There's no policy or "scandal" on Hillary's side that even comes close to that.

Trump failed to form complete sentences and coherent thoughts.

He would be a national embarrassment speaking at the UN or NATO.

He defended his Rosie O'Donnell comments.

He failed to control himself, all the time. Just constantly interrupting her.

There's no way he has ordinary American's interests at heart when he's spent a lifetime discriminating against minorities and avoiding income taxes.

And the bullshit about "I didn't support the war in Iraq" and "I never said climate change was a hoax" are just un-fucking-believable. Either he's too stupid to remember his own words, or he's too naive to think we'll forgive and forget.

Awesome!! Now please enlighten your friends and family who had the same attitude you did. Trump ain't no joke!

I think that was a prepared answer to that inevitable question. So here kind of thew that one in there randomly. Same with she had experience, but it's bad experience line.

Guys............... If Hillary doesn't knock these debates out of the park... I really think Trump is going to win. She absolutely crushed last night but somehow the small amount of people out there that don't see him for what he is (not including his supporters) are seriously being influenced by the lies the GOP has been pushing.

I think the lies are going to win. I think Trump will be the next president :( :( :( :( :( :(

It was all over The_Donald, as well as /pol/, and other wingnut sites like freerepublic. Multiple threads, listing every imaginable poll, with clear directions to go stuff them.

I saw it in multiple locations last night, as well as seeing commentary that some sites were resetting polls because of clear tampering.

It didn't occur to me to take screen shots, because it's nothing new. People from freerepublic have been "freeping" polls since the early 90's. It's why no one takes online polls seriously.
What's the goal? How does it advantage the candidate or the campaign to artificially inflate poll numbers, then have him underperform when the actual vote takes place?

That's the scary part. Hilary has to be absolutely perfect and Trump can just keep being Trump and not lose any ground. He'll be loud and just steamroll over everything, from debating to talking issues, just like he's always done.

Trump got humiliated which pretty much guarantees that he go full insult mode in the next debate.

There's two ways you can approach this, I'm thinking:

1. Change your approach, hit Hillary with facts and actually come up to her level so there's a decent debate. Settle down, tone down the insults and bullying. Actually do some worthwhile preparation.

2. Double down and hope something lands.

Considering the latter is all Trump has done in debates, I'm willing to bet that's what we'll see. He's a one trick pony and when his trick isn't working, he's useless. This was very evident last night.

The worst part is seeing that bullshit perpetuated.

"She's smiling too much"
"She looks too serious"
"She looks tired"
"She's not talking loud enough"
"She's not interrupting Trump"

Why are you freaking out

You should only freak out when it makes sense to freak out

It doesn't make sense to freak out considering last night and the news coverage

The goal is to create a false narrative where he appears to be "winning", because the (clearly liberally biased) reality is he isn't, and they can't stand that.

Relax. You freaking out like that ain't going to help anyone. If you're worried, go out an volunteer, or donate, or anything. Get your friends to vote, donate, or whatever.

I have faith in the electorate. The only times it swings in Trump's favor is when he's acting rational, and God knows he can't do that while debating Hillary. Even with Trump's recent momentum Hillary was still 1-2 points ahead, where Obama was during most of his 2012 campaign.

I agree the stakes are higher, but that means you just got to work a bit harder to see Hillary (and other dems, if you are liberal) get in.

if trump "keeps being trump" and doubles down on exactly what he was doing last night, this is literally going to be 1980 2.0

It's all he's had. He's really gotta do his homework and concentrate on.. not being himself for an hour and a half for two more debates if he wants any chance. But he knows if he debates straight up, he will lose.

1984 2.0 (while it would be absolutely delicious) would give Trump the easy ammo to claim, "See, it was rigged." Who am I kidding? No matter the outcome that doesn't involve him winning, he is gonna claim that.

The orange dumbass has an attention span of a fish. There was a thread here about his ghostwriter telling about how mean, impatient and inattentive he is. He is hopeless, no matter what his campaign staff do. So he might as well go down in a putrid, fiery blaze of incompetence.

Seems like Trump is lying about winning the debate last night. Citing informal polls that can be manipulated and acting like they're actual scientific polls. He even said he won the CBS poll even though they took no post debate poll. They had a focus test on undecided voters that favored Clinton.

‏"Trump's aggressive promotion of online (easily manipulated, non-scientific) polls saying he 'won' is a calculated effort to create a reality," Emily Flitter, who covers the Trump campaign for Reuters, tweeted.

1. Would require intensive preparation and practice, something Trump is incapable of doing.

I think you're giving the people doing it too much credit for rational thinking. They'd say they were doing it to offset the mainstream media being unfair to their candidate, and that it helps with enthusiasm, but really it's mostly about having some ammo in their pockets for the next day's internet fight about Daddy or God Emperor Trump as some of them hail him.

If you check The Donald-centric sites (pol, The_Donald, freerepublic, Daily Stormer, Breitbart) you'll see they're leading with two major prongs: 1) Trump won because all the online polls said so and 2) Hillary must have had the questions in advanced because her answers were too prepared.

These are not people who truck heavily in reality.

I've been mentally preparing myself.

Just feels like we're going to get our own brexit outcome that defines logic or rational explanation.

The debates won't wake anyone up. He's been doing this shit the whole time but the race is close and two third party candidates are peeling votes away from the Democrats.

The ride to work was interesting.
I listen to a channel that had Rush on it, only because the have traffic updates every ten minutes.

He kept talking about his big media wouldn't report on the little things..like..

How Clinton looked shook, kept rolling her eyes and was fake smiling the whole time.
In his opinion, Trump win because he was calm, cool and collected and didn't react to her words.

What did he watch? How can he talk about bias and be completely off his rocker?

She may have done those things. But he was gulping water, sniffing and kept rolling his eyes the whole time. His temperament was almost non existent.

What do you think that version of the map looks like? We're too polarized for the map to look anything like that. The depth South ain't going blue and I have my doubts about Ohio.

Fuck we need Clinton to win and we need everyone to do this. Whether people want it or not, the only options on the ballot this November will probably be Trump the dump and Hillary. And one is needed to maintain Obama's laws that were made during his two terms, especially same sex marriage. If there is any hope of that law being preserved and more potentially positive laws being created that will last for decades, Hillary needs to win the election. Trump is the most unfit candidate of the 2000s, full stop. And anyone who doesn't see that is completely ignoring the literal mountain of shit he has been spewing from the beginning of his so called "campaign".

The stakes are pretty high, damn high. We can't fuck this up, guys. Okay?

WE CAN NOT FUCK THIS UP, AMERICA!!!!

Combination of that and the far left demonizing middle of the road candidates like Romney and McCain to say nothing of the Bushes and Reagan...disagree with their policies but at least admit they weren't evil.

The far left has been crying wolf for so long now that Trump, an actual wolf, has actually shown up certain republican leaning folks wrongly believe a Trump presidency won't actually be that bad...and they're stuck in content bubbles to boot.

Yeah but that does nothing to benefit them. Without an accurate reading of the electorate, the Trump campaign lacks data that might help them capture voters they otherwise would not. Skewed polls don't accurately show where he has secured or lacked support, and don't reflect changes in perception of the race.

Accurate polls can be used to gauge public response to campaign milestones, and if the response is not positive, the decline in popularity can inspire a change in tack, and course correction.

Inflating numbers for your preferred candidate only damages your cause.

Here's the state of the race as I see it. Hillary needs to come up with 39 electoral votes on November 8th. Trump needs to come up with 79. All she needs to do that night is win PA, VA and CO and it is all over with. He needs to win every swing state except for PA and VA to pull it off, including states like Nevada, Florida and Colorado where he has demographic disadvantages that I don't think he can overcome. NC is in play for Hillary in ways that PA and VA aren't for Trump. It's all looking pretty good. I'd feel better if Ohio and Iowa weren't looking red this year, but it all comes down to Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado.

edit: This doesn't even take into account that Hillary has a data driven ground game that can probably overcome Trump's weak leads in Iowa and Ohio. My inner bedwetter says she wins 308 to 230, and my most optimistic self says she gets 347 to his 191, as in, he doesn't win any of those swing states. In reality, she probably gets 332 to his 206.

I think you are trying to bring far too much biased liberal logic and reason into this.

It should probably be made clear that a great deal of the people who post in these alt-right places and follow instructions to fake online poll results are complete morons without a clue. They live in their own bubble of reality where they are always right and always winning, and have no concept of long term, like Trump himself, they only live for these short term, in the moment boosts (which is why Trump loves doing rallies, an easy cheering crowd that agrees with everything he says mindlessly).

"Yeah look we won the online polls take that liberals!" would be a victory in their minds even though they're actually harming their case by making Trump think he did well in the debate when he actually bombed badly, and he'll just double down instead.

Again, it's still rattling around in my head, but during this debate, a PRIMARY CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT...

- Confessed that he has no problems stiffing his own hardworking employees
- Admitted he didn't pay federal taxes
- Championed a struck-down unconstitutional law that racially profiled minorities
- Called the moderator a liar after it was brought up that Trump supported the war on record
- Advocated that we should have just gone in an taken foreign oil, violating the Geneva Convention
- Said he had no problems firing upon a foreign army if taunted and that it wouldn't start a war
- Said that he would not aid or honor international treaties unless we shook 'em down for money
- Stated on-air that the women he called fat, pigs, and dogs "deserved it". Buckled down on it in the morning.
- Boasted of his great temperment and 30 seconds later was losing his temper after provocation
- Bragged about his restraint at not bringing up Bill Clinton's indiscretions

Surreal.

Just ONE of these would sink any normal politician and possible end their whole political career.

Pretty good summary, but you left out a few:

- Admitted being eager to make money off the housing crisis
- Went on record again with his bizzaro world take on the Birther fiasco

And, of course, he reiterated several other already debunked lies.
