Must be a Dutch thing then, aside from a few pubs here and there, I can pay pretty much everything with just my bank card.
Yeah, the first time I went to the barber my mom made sure I knew that the barber had to be tipped.Tips are already a pretty standard thing at a salon or barber. I've tipped every single time I've ever gotten my hair cut, even at a chain place. You're not accomplishing anything by not tipping.
"Not wanting to enable tip based socioeconomic cultures and allow them to spread" is one of the most uppity sentences I've had the displeasure to read from a College Republican.lmao @ not wanting to "enable tips".
OP is lame as fuck.
Somehow, every country except for the USA managed to find a solution for that.
I tip almost everyone here in Germany.
As a bartender I like to get tip as well, so fuck it.
Yesterday three dudes, everyone has a Rolex*, tipping 0,10 on a 19,90 bill, come on. xD
*and all of them look like this

Haha this.tip your fuckin barber bro I bet your hair looks stupid
What kind of son of a bitch doesn't tip their barber?
I tip my barber 50% of the bill and I go weekly.
You should be ashamed of yourself!!
The problem is it's a double edged sword. As long as people keep tipping nothing will change, but if you stop tipping then people suffer. American tipping culture is so awful. Who let them get away with it in the first place? People should be paid a proper wage and tips should be extra if they've done a good job, not mandatory because if not they can't feed themselves.
I have a no-tip policy for hair cutters because I don't want to enable tips becoming an obligatory thing for the hair industry, like restaurants.
Neither will Americans.
You American's have such a screwed up system I doubt it will ever be fixed. Screw paying extra for people's services, I already paid them once.
If your barber fucks up your head over $5, you're probably better off finding a new barber anyway.Tipping barber's is among those most required in the US.
THEY HAVE SCISSORS CLOSE TO YOUR HEAD WHY WOULD YOU NOT TIP THEM
It's an indicator of the quality of service. OP, you're telling your barber that his/her work is shit.
