I'm going to be going a bit off-topic here
I'd agree that the FFB feels a lot better in this than in the first game but I do have one minor issue and I'm wondering if you have the same problem. When I'm not moving there seems to be some wheel shake, like the wheel wobbles left and right for no reason. This'll happen in the pits or anywhere else if I'm parked. It doesn't seem to affect the car while moving but it's stupid that I have to hold the wheel still when parked, especially since I park a lot while practicing in order to dial in my settings. Seems to be an issue with every car I've tried so far.
There is a known issue with some Thrustmaster wheels and Logitech G920 ONLY on Xbox One. Issue is not present on PC and apparently not on PS4 as well.
SMS acknowledged there is an issue with FFB on Xbox One + Thurstmaster/G920
SMS also officially communicated earlier today that dev team have a fix, its on the way (MS approval process), a title update for Xbox One.
What you are experiencing is a known issue with Xbox/G920.
WORKAROUNDS:
Patch is on the way but still pending MS cert., so god knows when it will be live. Meanwhile, a few workarounds from the community on Xbox One:
- Setting FFB Gain to 30-40 helps for me. You may put Dampening (controller settings) up to 100 (increases wheel weight) to counteract the low FFB Gain.
- Some folks saying that THESE SETTINGS FOR T300 helped a lot with G920 on Xbox One too. I still have to test it, worth a try.
IMPORTANT:
There were cases of users misunderstanding the wheel calibration instructions in-game:
- When calibrating your wheel, first step is to roll your wheel all the way to left or right, then press A.
- Next step, when it asks to move to 90 degrees to left or right, what you actually have to do is to roll your wheel left or right until 900 is shown as the value , and then hit A.
- Instructions copy open possibility to interpretations, and number of customers (me included) were calibrating the wheel wrong.
- This is important as when calibration is not done correctly, FFB issue becomes even worse.
