Anyone fancy listing the new cars?

Can't watch at work and I need my iPhone battery in case of porn-related emergencies.

2003 Bentley Speed 8 LMGTP
1999 BMW V12 LMR
1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail
1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM
2013 Bentley Continental GT3
1977 Lotus 78 Cosworth

Have you tried "activating" the SoP settings in the second tab of the car's FFB settings? Can make the corner forces feel like forza if you want that.

Also: I haven't tried that, but boosting "Fz" (a little under Master Spindle in the car's FFB settings) should make you feel the bumps and surface irregularaties more. And the Road America kerbs are supposed to be the bumpiest btw.

I actually forgot to adjust the FFB for the car I was in. Did that and I feel it now. So silly that I can't just universally set my settings for all cars.

Those DLC cars are looking nice, though it does look like they are still work-in-progress and quick check on the forums does say that they aren't ready yet on either physics or graphics side. I hope some of those are part of the free DLC though at least one of the cars planned for that (I think it was teased earlier on) isn't on that list :)

The idea of different steering ratios for every car and an "arm angle" in the FFB settings for each car is pure genius and I appreciate that you can set the FFB different per-car/per-track but they should have made a general setup in the game-options for all FFB settings and then save per-car stuff like arm angle or "this car's steering is stiffer, that one's is smoother" relative to your standard settings from the options menu. Maybe an option to see and edit non-relative settings per car as well.
I never can remember which car's FFB I've already set up for all tracks and have to check before every practice or solo race - especially annoying in time-trial where you have to leave the track and go to "my garage" to change it, then go back to track again.

Looking at each single UI-"bug", none of them is anywhere near a major oversight, but the sheer amount of them is pretty annoying, especially if you're into setting things up meticulously instead of just racing, racing, racing.

Edit:
oooh... "it's time to update!"

There any way to get a tow to the pit if say your wheel falls off or engine blows? Had a few times where someone in a private lobby had this but got DQ because they couldn't move or couldn't limp over to the pit. Sucks when someone gets pissed and quits.

With the exception of a weather forecast that would help you with picking the right tires, these informations are more in the "nice to know" category (more feature than bug).

If they were meant to be hidden then SMS really shouldn't have bothered modelling those parameters at all. In fact, actually having them modelled, but concealed, is actually worse than not modelling them at all.

Example: wonder why your car feels light and pulls slightly to the left down a certain long straight on a certain track on a certain day? Baffling, isn't it? You'll be scratching your head all day. Turns out there's a 40mph tail-wind at 30 degrees to your car. It's why tracks have wind socks out on display for everyone to see (and not hidden behind a third-part app on only one platform, goddamnit!).

Lol, I actually had that last night. Baffled me as I thought my analog stick was pulling to a side.

Been struggling dialing in a controller setting and the car would whip into spins far easier than before, so I gave up for the night. Hilarious to hear it was probably wind.

I tried RUF RGT8 yesterday and it's pretty damn hard to control, especially with ABS turned off. :) I did manage to get a few clean laps in Brands Hatch, but I reckon they were slow and not enough for qual/race. Also its interior sounds are pretty meh quality compared to what I've tested so far, especially when changing gears.

I made a barebones group, only 10 people so far. Quote for URL. *edit* Augh bottom of page for 50-posts-per-page people.

The main handy thing is coordinating races through the Steam group chat. I assume we could also add links, occasional event reminders, or whatever if people are interested.

Cool, I just joined!

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
I really hope this game does well for SMS where they can expand on licenses for a sequel, if it's in their minds. A proper TOCA, V8 Supercars, European TC and perhaps some vintage racing like Grand Prix Legneds with all the old tracks like 60s Monza, Kylami, old school Nurbrgring and Le Mans etc would just blow. my. mind.

Has anyone unlocked the I am the 5% trophy? Just won a few races online and didn't get it. I started on Pro settings and I'm enabling all the necessary options.

Are you using manual clutch?

Manual transmission, auto clutch. Kept it that way since it was default. Will try again with manual clutch.

Can I join anybody's lobby, or do they have to have it set up properly? Nobody seems to join mine whenever I create one.

My personal #1 bug that should be fixed is the save-time for a change in the options menu, which (on Xbox One at least) sometimes takes 1 second, but every third time or so it takes almost 2 minutes. I want that even more fixed than the rev-sound bug on Xbox One. My #1 "feature" that should be added is a better time-trial board that lets me see the times of my friends and also how many people overall have tried their luck in a car class (is it good to be on the 256th spot in a community even? Or were there only 500 people trying it? At the moment you can't know). Time-trial car classes are also pretty off for the road cars as Soundscream mentioned before.

Little work around on the save thing...

Instead of backing out of menu after making your changes, Hit the start button after you make your changes and select "options & help" it takes you right back to menu and saves the changes instantly.

Loving this game even with the Xbox one bugs. Took a while to get the pad settings dialed in but getting used to it (mode 3 tweaked with assists) and instead of collecting cars and trying to earn XP as I do in Forza, I'm racing cars for fun. 😊 just love qualifying and running in different weather, time of day. The depth to the driving is more amazing than the little bugs and niggles are annoying.

One thing needing fixing is the memory leak when going into stanby/resume on Xbox. You really need to restart game as the frame rate nosedives on resume.

Overall though very pleased with the performance.

I just rage quit on this very track. The Dubai cup before was a piece of cake, won both races with 10+ seconds to spare. I was thinking about upping the difficulty a bit. But then this track came and my kart responds like shit. And once you've hit the grass just a tiny bit you're off and everyone drives past you to be never seen again. I'll try again tomorrow :p
That track is soooooooooo narrow. Far worse than all the other already narrow oldschool GP European tracks. The Superkarts are essentially paper airplanes with wheels and rockets attached and should never be driven by any real person, ever, due to risk of catastrophic death. They're slightly less annoying if you get rid of the steering deadzone on the controller so your movements aren't all jolting, but those things have no right being a second season vehicle, especially not with the very tame Formula Rookie and Gulf the next 2 years.

Oh, and I love how the driver's head is the roll hoop in the gif and managed to show a case where the driver would most certainly have died in a real setting. Good times. I bet the thing drove just fine with no discernible change in behavior after the crash. I'm convinced the rear wing is an optical illusion on that car.

Thanx, I'll be doing that from now on.

Once everything is set up and the race is going, I'm more or less surprised how well it runs on Xbox One (considering the after-thought UI and it being a third party title). And playing it from the cockpit or the helmet cam, I'm not noticing any jaggies really neither; looks great as far as I'm concerned.

How do I view the ghost data for other people in the community events. Pressing x using t500 brings up their psn card and I have to back out of it using the ds4

My times aren't always being uploaded either. Not getting any off track warnings.

Xbox one,

Is the online racing dead? This is weird.

Its hard to find a race, and its always a disaster race. You join midweay, cars are parked on the side of the road. just a mess.

Is there any way to know how many laps a race is going to be in online games?

I got into a bit longer race than i thought most online races are and finished the race with just a drop in the tank.. AI could only get a couple corners while rolling towards the pit before running out of fuel. I got DQ'd :/

Wish there was an automatic fuel setting especially when you dont even get a chance to adjust your fuel load if the lobby is set to race only.

Awesome game with one problem, at least on PS4 with DS4.

You can't control the cars with any continuity. Which, for a driving game is kinda important.

For two days now it has been a constant battle to get a consistent response from the controls. It is absolutely maddening how much time you have to spend bouncing in and out of races into the settings to try and get some sort of baseline. Lather rinse repeat every time you jump in a different car.

It seems you can't (but maybe it's better that way, I don't want to know what cheat-corner-cutting some people used, would demotivate me to get better).

Yesterday I had a 52.616 in the clio cup race. Exit. Game freezes. Close application, game restart, I check my event time: 53.7xx  ,
I tweak my dif and suspension and try it again, 52.477, cool!, exit, game freezes, close application, game restart, I check my time: 53.7xx -.-
I try it again, takes me 8 laps to get to 52.642, exit, game doesn't freeze, I hit X on the leaderboard and it lists 52.477.

Seems like it always saved my time, even when it froze, just that sometimes it takes longer to show up on the board.

I want to view the top guys' ghosts so I know where I need to improve lol.
Yeah seems very buggy I did a 52.073 a few sessions ago and after quitting it hadn't uploaded. After a few more frustrating sessions of not getting near it I quit again and the 52.073 was there.
Weird.

On a separate note; is throttle blipping necessary in this game? Only ever played FM and GT before where it wasn't really needed. I'm trying to teach myself atm but don't really know how much of a "blip" is necessary if that makes sense.

don't forget to edit set up before a race or in garage... You can smooth out the steering on some cars that are super twitchy. I found that it's necessary for some, especially road cars to slow down steering response

This game is going to die a quick death on XB1 unless SMS does some serious work to the class structure and the penalty zones for tracks.

Why is the Zonda R in the same leaderboard class as the GT3 cars? It is on another level compared to GT3 cars.

Why is the Mercedes C-Class DTM in the same class as the BMW E30 M3? Makes no sense.

Additionally, almost every track has either cuttable corners or extremely inconsistent penalty zones throughout.

Liking the game so far, but I can't help but feel like the game is unfinished.

I can't understand the complaints about lack of grip.

I read on a forum that people couldn't keep the P1 in a straight line, even on the straight, I just took it round Donington for 10 laps and it grips like shit to a blanket!!

Lap times update each hour or so, I think. So, once the time is done, don't worry, it will upload eventually,

Things can be rather strange, I just won the second race on my first attempt with many seconds to spare. But I got very lucky a couple of times, uploading my race at the moment.

Second that. Some friends and I ran it last night and I thought it handled great! Of course I was warmed up at that point and we won't speak of my earlier races.

Using a DS4 controller is there a way to make long fast turns (like Monza for example) without having to "tap" the analog stick in order to keep a the same line?

I understand having to do that with a keyboard, but with the analog stick I would expect it to behave like an analog input.

Not really. Tap-steering is essential to being quick with a pad on this game.

Just move the stick the amount you want to steer, no need to tap it at all.

Does anybody know for sure whether the Novice/Amateur/Pro setting on first boot affects physics, or anything under the hood that isn't changeable within the menus? I'm reading conflicting reports.

It felt a bit different to me, even with the same exact controller settings. I also read about someone posting lap times 4 seconds faster, which is a significant difference, with identical settings other than that initial choice.

If physics, or anything you can't adjust on a menu, is affected then there's a pretty big issue when it comes to competing online.

Just go to the track in the normal time-trials and pick a fast ghost from there maybe? Little tricky in this case as the best times in the normal time-trials won't be from a FWD car.

Uhmm... isn't throttle blipping just to shift without using the clutch (or to quick-shift without pushing the clutch down entirely OR to use the clutch normally but reduce wear)? In a sprint or time-trial you can just violate the clutch or use automatic clutch, right? Educate me, guys? Will driving without the auto clutch make me faster if I learn blipping?
