If you're gunna protest why not protest by getting involved in local elections and trying to change things? Trump barely won and he certainly didn't win by majority. GET. INVOLVED.. NOW. Before the next elections.
Why not both, basically. I'll do both as I think they are both worthy actions. You're not wrong though, but then the kind of people that take to protesting are likely the kind of people that will vote. Passionate folks.

That is just about the most passive way to "distance" yourself from something, if even that much could be said about it. I mean, even the headline of the article you linked qualifies Trump's statements as not disavowing the anger of the white nationalists' message, just the content. What does that even mean?

I'll wear black to work but otherwise I'm sitting this thing out. I've been embroiled in politics enough the last couple of years, so I'm tuning out for at least one day.
Also, I'm not keen on attending any protests. I live in a large city and large crowds are an invitation for trouble, especially regarding this topic. I admire those going out there, but my survival instinct tells me to sit this out for now.

I can't believe people still think that the US is democracy. Spoiler alert: it's not. It's a representative government or in other words a republic. The last election actually demonstrated how undemocratic the US government system is. If it was a democracy Clinton would be the president and not Trump.

Well I'm one to say that what happened WAS democratic. It's a damn shame, but it is what it is. It's the same system that's been in place for a very long time now.

The funny thing about it is that it was Trump who bitched and moaned about the electoral college being a scam the whole way through the election, and that it should be done away with. Yet that system is what won him the election. He's been pretty quiet about doing away with it since.

I do believe the Electoral College should be dissolved, or at least reworked in someway.

We aren't a true democracy when it comes to picking the president. That is a simple fact. Otherwise Hillary would have won by 3 million votes.
It's an attempt to give small states with less voice, more of a voice.
I'm not sure that's exactly fair either. More people in this country wanted Clinton. We are all in the same country states be damned. So I agree, the system is not a perfect democracy. But, it is what it is and he won fair and square (considering the system not outside influences and what have you, that's a different debate).
Now I protest and hope he causes his own demise. The angrier he gets, the more likely.
