PS+ : October Edition Thread | EU : Bulletstorm, RE 5, Hell Yeah | US : NFL Blitz

I subscribed to PS+ when it was at the low price in EU a while ago... i didn't know what i was missing the whole time. And i don't even talk about the offers or free games. No, i'm talking about the automatic updates at selected times. It's my most loved feature!

No more "oh i really want to play this old game again... oh shit, 544 updates found."

I really hope automatic updates are standard for every PS4 user. Although i can see myself being a PS+ subscriber from the very beginning on PS4. And i can't wait for november, when it hits PS Vita. Good times.

I didn't realize Mr Karate was dlc. He was the only character I knew I wanted.
 
Kof is a great pick up. The diversity of offering on the US PS+ continues to be welcome.

Hopefully next month they offer counter strike just for the laughs.
 
I get swayed to try plus again due to vita additions (subbed this month because of the 100$ get 20$) deal and the first addition is KOF13? I already regret it.


What is with the obsession with adding old retail games that can be had for 2$ at a steam sale or 5-10$ used? PSN games are infinitely more interesting an addition.

If the US gets RE5 and bulletstorm next month, everybody who complained has to play through them from start to finish.

I'd been wanting to play KoFXIII, but generally lost interest in fighters entirely so this is a great way to do so! And at least see the great 2D art at worst.

Man, the poll is leading for people wanting Vita games ONLY, not Vita and PSP. Well, I can understand diluting it some with boring old PSP games blocking Vita games, but there's a lot of great PSP stuff that'd be nice to get for free that either is owned physically but not digitally, or I just never got in the first place. Plus the Vita's young, so it's going to take awhile to build up a library of stuff that they're willing to give for free anyway.

I won't play them start to finish, but it would be nice to see some cool games in the thread title and then *gasp* actually have them available in the region. I know it's just pointless bitching, but I'm starting to question what I'm paying for.

Bulletstorm/RE5 are the exact opposite of what I want with plus.

If anyone wanted to play them they could have gotten them used for less than 10$ or off steam for 5$ on a sale.

Hell yeah free day 1 is better than bulletsorm/RE5/borderlands 1/Kof13 all put together.
 
KOFXIII is an AMAZING game. I have 0 regrets buying it day 1. If you have PS+ just try it out. There is volumes of fun to be had with that game even if you don't go online.

Finally a really good update. I was planning to buy Kof XIII before years end and now we´ll have it for free. Time to summon Fersis on PSN.

And maybe PS+ isn't for you, because that's exactly the sort of game we will get a lot of. Ones that are years old and sell ~0 copies
 
I think my sub ran out last month. Will be re subbing though. And EU needs to share the love with US!

I'll try out Blitz though.

Same for me, especially since the pricing on fighting games DLC rarely drop down on the 360. -_- I don't think the SFIV DLC has ever been on sale, especially the costume packs which is ludicrous.

I was going to sell my physical copy of KOF XIII anyway since it's a rather small game in term of GB so the digital version is nice imo. I hope there's another PSN sale of the AE edition + costume packs for SFIV since they had one last year (while I was waiting for some discount with the 360 version -_- ) .
 
Watching EVO this year I was incredibly impressed by the KOF XIII finals/semis/quarters. After rewatching it all a week later I knew I needed to play this game, and searched for it on PSN, but before buying I said "wait a minute... what if this comes to Plus at some point? ... Hm, I have enough of a back log, I'll wait on this." Boy am I glad I did. This plus Starhawk plus the discounts have nearly paid for my yearly subscription in one month, as if it wasn't already worth it. Can't wait for this.

Man I love Plus. I was also completely oblivious to Virtua Fighter 5's pure GENIUS, thinking because of the lack of character it wouldn't be anything other than an average-at-best fighter. But because of Plus it was a matter of less than an hour before I realized it was clearly the best 3D fighter around, hands-down. So embarrassed it was really the only one I hadn't played.

GraveRobber, you crack me up, man. It's a bad update because it's hard? Because it's a game that takes time and skill and practice? OH NO -- NOT SKILL, TIME AND PRACTICE! I HATE THOSE! Not a game that I can play for hundreds of hours and still enjoy, still discover, like we did with Street Fighter II back in the day! Heavens to Betsy, why would I want a brilliant, challenging game when I can instead get something I can platinum in ten hours and be done with forever? I HATE VALUE!
 
Just renewed my subscription, got a shitload of stuff to download now. Would be nice if they gave us KOF 13 as well.

Also, I forgot, when you download a full game trial, does the 60 minute timer continue counting down no matter what as soon as you boot the game up? If you quit, can it still run out and stop you from playing? I remember that happening with Infamous when I was last subscribed.

You have 60 minutes since the moment you boot the game, it doesnt stop if you quit the game
 
To me, PS+ is a great deal even with the screw ups every now and then. $50 and you get access to the instant game library (what's in there now and in the future), discounts, and other special offers. Sometimes the money you save on the discounts alone more than make up for the cost of the service. They bring out a lot of new PSN games with a discount, like Tokyo Jungle being $3 less. And it adds up during the year. And I also look at it as renting games but for a really long time and without late fees. Just download the games as they are given and play them as you want. It's like $4 a month for PS+.

I feel some people are expecting a little too much. Especially with Xbox Gold is $10 more a year (if you don't get a deal) and they don't give you anything remotely close to this. And PS+ is an even crazier value if you also own a Vita.

I can definitely say that I will remain subscribed until they stop the service.

But I do agree that EU has been getting some of the better games. I can see why people get upset when a game gets added that either sucks or is just not a genre they like. I don't like football or any sports really, and NFL Blitz isn't even fun imo, so it really is a waste of hard drive space.

Here's hoping the unannounced game they'll add next is something the majority will like.
 
Couldn't give two shits about a fighting game but does it at least have an easy trophy list? No online crap? I'd consider resubbing for an easy platinum.

EDIT: And I don't give a crap about trophies at all. I look at them to see what I did to unlock them, but that's about it. It's cool for people who like them, but I really don't have time to waste going after things like that. If I don't unlock an in-game reward, it's not worth doing. And what's even the point of playing a game you wouldn't normally play just for trophies? I had a guy I knew on Xbox Live who would rent sports games and movie-based games or games directed at kids just to get a higher gamerscore. This stuff makes some people turn crazy. lol /trophy/achievement rant.

Unless you are a serious fighting game player, you would have no chance at getting the trophies.

Even then it would be a struggle. Some would suggest that makes it more valuable...

Where have you been? Yes online (that I hear is very broken and was never patched) and the highest difficulty rating ( I believe 10/10) to platinum on ps3trophies.org.

Well, people who don't have eclectic tastes probably shouldn't get Plus. I'm not being flippant either. I'm serious. If there are only certain genres a person likes, they should spend their money on those games directly and not on this wonderful service.
 
Both PS+ IGC games are now up.

To find RE5, go into the Playstation Plus section, then under one of the 'Discounts' folders, it's there.

You can find Bulletstorm by doing a manual search for it.

I can't wait to play through Resident Evil and Bulletstorm, just finished arkham city. I bet for christmas they'll have something special too.

It was for 2 weeks only during September or something. So unfortunately you missed it. I didn't, though - got myself a 1 year sub for cheap.

Indeed. Best 30-something Euro I've send all year so far!!!!


But even if you get the year long sub for 50 euro it's still a pretty good deal. I know I'll be definitely renewing this time next year!
