It's another game that was released on Xbox as well.

Guess I need to check out Coast to Coast then. Is Xbox again the best version?
Edit: Holy shit at those Xbox prices, guess Im just staying with the PS2.
Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is the same on all platforms as far as I know; you're thinking of the first Xbox version of Outrun 2, I assume. The PS2 version has more content overall, though. My understanding is they are both really good versions. I certainly love the PS2 game.
PC version can still be bought on amazon and such, but it's even more overpriced than the Xbox version.Which version of C2C is best? Well, graphically, it's probably the now-kind-of-impossible-to-buy (since it was delisted from Steam years ago) PC version. Beyond that, the overpriced Xbox version is next, followed by the PS2 version, with the PSP version in last. It's a really fantastic game even on the PS2 though; yes, the graphics aren't as good as Outrun 2 for the Xbox, but it looks good enough, plays great, and has a lot to do. Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is my favorite racing game on the PS2. Awesome game!

Been replaying The Bouncer, and wow this game is fun. Loving the beautiful Square-esque art style of the 2000-01 era and dem CGs. Beat it twice today, Sion maxed out.
I have no idea what kind of game The Bouncer is and I heard of it many times, barely seen anything out of it as well besides a few screenshots.
Oh, wow, interesting since I love beat em ups. I thought it was an action adventure game at 1st.It's a beat 'em up. I have seen very little of it as well but it's always been on my radar.
I actually love how short and simple this game is. Back when mid tier games existedBeen replaying The Bouncer, and wow this game is fun. Loving the beautiful Square-esque art style of the 2000-01 era and dem CGs. Beat it twice today, Sion maxed out.
Wow, calling The Bouncer mid tier... Can't tell if you're being generous or if you just gave it a really solid burn. It was most certainly not positioned as mid tier when it was releasedI actually love how short and simple this game is. Back when mid tier games existed
I'm starting to get into freemcboot and I'm spending my Friday night ripping my PS2 library to the computer. I know imports need to be patched but I'm not finding any info on how to region patch them. My googling is turning up nothing so any help would be appreciated.
ESR Patcher is probably what you are thinking about, hope I'm right. It depends on what you're trying to do. Are you trying to play on an HDD or play a burned version of the imports? If the latter, what you want is to masterpatch it. I'm not sure what program people use, though, so I'm not of much help. I think Sheepy has talked about this in the past?

That's what I use and works perfectly.Yup. ESRDiscPatcher seems to be the program.

I'm going to play it off a HDD. I got the board to change the connector from IDE to SATA and buying a HDD tomorrow for it.
Yup. Don't even need a patch AFAIK.You can install from the pc with winhiip and your pc dvd drive just hook the hard drive up to your pc
Well I'm super disappointed so far with my experience using HDL. Right now I feel like I wasted a lot of time and money (40 bucks for a hdd, and like 40 bucks on the sata adapter with shipping). I spent all weekend ripping my PS2 games to my computer, and getting them installed on this hdd. Took a boot to get HDL to actually fucking load with the hdd installed and now it only shows me about 20 - 30 of the 130 PS2 games I installed to the hdd and I have no fucking clue why. : (
I tried OPL but it didn't give me an option to boot from the HDD, it wanted to boot from USB media, or it seemed like a network drive.
I did finally get HDL though to see all my games. I don't know what made it finally decide to do that.
you have to enable the HDD in OPL's settings. it's not running by default because that would be a major inconvenience if youw anted to play via LAN or USB. OPL is better than HDL in every way, though.
Yes, but if the HDD was constantly running while doing those things that would be annoying.you can still those after you activate the HDD

When you boot opl with HDD automatically enabled, the HDD runs. That's why it's an option defaulted to off. If I wasn't using my HDD at the time, it's better to never have it warm up. Again, hence the option.no if you select USB or network the HDD section gets switched off

I haven't had a chance to but Ill have to try that.
Fat if you're at all interested in homebrew. Slim otherwise.I really wanna go back and play some games I miss.So PS2 fat or PS2 Slim?

A couple of things offhand I remember is that network play was removed from OutRun 2SP but gained force feedback wheel support. For what it's worth the servers for the PS2/PSP games have long since closed down so network play isn't available anyway.
The animations at the end of the courses (i.e. volcano erupting and space shuttle launching) were also absent from from C2C but included in 2SP. 2SP also had a couple of extra unlockable music tracks.
Cheers for that, seems like it's the definitive PS2 version then, I also found some reference to it having a smoother frame rate than C2C as well, not sure how true that is though, will probably end up buying it anyway. Thinking about it I've probably bought more versions of this game than any other title.
Sega themselves reprogrammed SP. It is smoother graphically (than the xbox version also), supports 480p, and I believe it has redone music too. There is no linking to the PSP version as already said there is no JPN PSP version.
Definitely the definitive version IMO, the PSN and XBLA version of OutRun Online Arcade come nowhere near it.
Expensive mind, if you can find it.

Stealth edit: Found some old messages from another board saying that Sega themselves handled this version, and it is generally seen as the best home version of the game available
Man, I have had such a headache trying to work out which is the definitive version of Outrun 2. So is it definitely better than the Japanese Xbox version, as well? Interesting to hear that it may even be better than the XBLA/PSN version! :O
There's no other versions of that Outrun 2SP than the Japanese PS2 version. Wasn't released on Xbox in Japan.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2.Was there any game where the ps2 version was better than the xbox? Other than MGS2
