I really think the TVs and radios would skyrocket the attraction level for Home. As long as you could play anything on your hard drive with a bunch of people over.Oni Jazar said:I think you're right the Trophy room just won't be as exciting as people think. TVs and radios are a must though. Plus they should bring back voice chat. It was really funny hearing people talk around home.
Good Points all around.LiquidJin said:Do any of the people clamoring for a trophy room even use Home?
I just don't see why this should be that big of a priority considering that almost no one will ever see your trophy room, and devs aren't making any trophies. Your apartment(s) and avatar essentially act as your trophy rooms now anyway.
I'd prefer if they did what another poster mentioned earlier, and bring the trophy scores into HOME by displaying them next to your name.
I also want them to add reasons for people to go to someone else's clubhouses and apartments. Like, maybe joining a game session would bring you to that person's apartment or clubhouse.
The whole restrictions on friends is just stupid and defeats the whole purpose of this social environment.

Edeuinu said:Trohpy room would only be cool if they let you view your friends rooms, and apartments for that matter. It should be a little simple option to allow your friends to check out your personal space even if you're not there.
I'm not going to waste me time decorating my junk I collected all nice if the 3 people on my list that use Home, might be on, when I am.
If you don't have any luck with this, try rebuilding the system database.Maastricht said:Vehn, maybe try the Home forums on the playstation.com forums. It does sound a bit like the install bug that a few games have had, like Ratchet & Clank. For this you had to have an amount free that you could round to a certain number or something. Sometimes this meant you had to install and/or remove something. Maybe try deleting something and then try again, and if that doesn't work, see if you can find the instructions of what to do for the Ratchet & Clank bug, and if that doesn't help, again, try the Home forums.
It sounds to me like that's part of v1.3, but I might be wrong.cakefoo said:They just need to make it easier to select what you're trying to focus your camera on. It's kind of a pain to have to press right up against a vending machine because you can't stop targeting the guy standing near it.
I wish I could work for Home and fix these things. It seems like they are really disconnected from logical thinking in a lot of ways.
Oni Jazar said:The problem with this is the apartment stuff (furniture arrangement, photos, musc & vids if they ever get that) is stored on the local PS3. You can't go to a person's apt if they aren't online.
LiquidJin said:Sounds like SONY needs to take Home more serious and get good people on it(or pay them to do it fulltime), because that's an easy problem to solve.
You let people make temporary 'keys' to their homespace that includes all of the coordinate and item ID data.
Then you let them give these keys to whomever they want via HOME messages like a club invite/registration. If they send it to a friend who already has a key then HOME would talk to the XMB to replace the old data with the new one the next time they logged in. Otherwise, the player would get notified that they received a key.
Keys would last for a certain period of time before expiring; like renting a movie from the PSN. So, if you wanted to take your keys back, then you just update the room and/or don't send them a key after the expiration date.

Thomaticus~ said:Home needs to be more convenient... first of all - Home needs to have background / offline downloading.. so that you don't have to download parts of Home while you're in Home.
Secondly, I think that when you cut on your PS3 you should start off in home, and make your Home (living room) space act as the PS3 menu.
By implementing these two factors, you make home easier to use and access. Right now its just not very convenient. By making it more convenient you'll get more people to use it. you start off in the apartment, more of a chance that you will venture outside and interact with others .

Zen said:I hope 1.3 improved the loading (yet again). Can't wait for game launching! I still remember 1UPYours talking about how "Sony has to shut it (Home) down by January, I mean they have to." not 1 month after it was out, or so. Not enough people actually know that Home is pretty profitable.
Howard Stringer said "If Home is still the same as it is now one year from now then I'd consider that a bit of a failure." It seems to be making the right steps imo.
I am definitely looking forward to the cache options. I think it will get me to login to Home more often with a 12GB cache.AndyD said:Apparently one feature is the option of how much local storage to allocate. The more you allocate for cache, the quicker it loads and the quicker transitions between spaces will be.
Cutting something implies that it is being severed or ceased; basically turned off. You don't cut something ON.Thomaticus~ said:Secondly, I think that when you cut on your PS3 you should start off in home, and make your Home (living room) space act as the PS3 menu.

kevm3 said:I'd log into home if they actually started making arcades and other games you could put into your home. I have no idea what is taking them so long to implement such an idea. Put some nice virtual emulation in there, and we'd be great. I'd love to play contra in home. It'd give konami, capcom, and some of these other developers a lot of easy money.
