PS4 Controller - Dualshock 4 Unveilved

Is there a photo of the bottom? It has been asked for sure, but where's a pic??

The design is freaking perfect. Was scared, but I'm completely converted now.

I just want a slimmer eye set up or a Sony TV with it built into it not on top.

Looks great imo. The only thing I'm worried about is that the touchpad will be meaningless most of time.
Can't get any less meaningless than a select and start button with non-matching square/triangle designs imho.
It was all basically empty space and a Sony logo to be fair.
I'd like to try out a Vita sometime, I haven't yet. I think PS4 is on the perfect track so far.

Not perfect but FARRRRR better than that prototype. Aesthetically I'm still slightly iffy but hot damn does it look comfortable. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Have you NEVER used a laptop in your life? Think TRACKPAD on a laptop.
It looks too smal though, but I'm sure it'll be ok

In my opinion the controller is pretty ugly, but its not like I need to be looking at it, Its all about comfort. I'm also wondering how much this will cost since ps3 controllers are still about $45-50

I hope they use some of the move features built into the ds4. Like when I aim down sights I slightly adjust the controller itself to aim but when not in ADS is just normal dual analogue.

Pics of the back yet? I think the controller seems perfect and comfy too, just interested to see how the bottom looks.

I love it.

If third-party curved snap on triggers are available like with the DS3, it looks to be perfect for my tastes.

I'm okay with the design. unsure why some people dislike the share button.
I think some would just rather have Select as usual, but it's not uncommon for Select to be abandoned, if anything the fact they renamed Start is the real odd decision, and for all we know they may bounce back due to focus testing proving it odd and unfamiliar. Alternatively, they redesign the buttons so that select CAN be there on the left, or on the right with Start.

It looks good and it's nice they've gone ahead and implemented a share button. Speaks volumes about how interconnected everything on the PS4 will be, unlike the more segregated PS3 that lacked unification of services, features.

Looks fantastic to me. Seems really comfortable as well, only concern is the size. It looks a bit on the small size from the picture where he's holding it, but there's really no way to tell until we get the chance to hold it obviously.

I'm really hoping they decide to go with rubber sticks as opposed to whatever material the current ones are made out of. The grips on them are not good.

Yes, d-pad with space. :D
Forget the Vita d-pad.

My thoughts precisely...it is like a fifth button centered in the middle of the dpad. It is perfect.

I hope the VITA revision steals some of the PS4 design as to appear that it belongs to the console.

Wonder if the lights will mimic the 4 colors of the x, square, triangle, o buttons? Blue, Pink, Green, and Red.

Always wished the pink was purple instead though.

It looks like the analog sticks are further apart, which if you like first person shooters, is a good thing. I still would have preferred a set up more like the xbox controller, but this is an improvement.

I wonder if the triggers will be good enough for racing games, or if I'm going to have to buy those plastic attachments like on the ps3. Honestly, just get the triggers right, I don't care about the touch pad.

Better than the Ps3 camera already... A slight movement on the Ps3 camera cable and the thing just moves around like a mad man.

I mentioned a while back in that blurry controller shot pic it looked like they went that textured and rubber finish found on gaming kb/m these days. Looks like it happened, which is good. Don't care about the "look", just need to get my hands on it to feel it and it's supposed improvements.

I like the design, but not the triggers at all.
Still not sure about the touch pad area and "move sensor" functions..

It looks brilliant. However...

You have the greatest D Pad ever in the Vita, Sony. Why aren't you using it?

Segmented D Pads are the worst thing ever. Gahhhh.

They appear to be at least 2 centimeters further apart than before, and even before I've never heard of this problem. Do you have marshmallow thumbs or something? :P

I've seen people that had this problem before. They just operate the sticks differently, moving their entire thumb with them instead of using the convex shape to "rock" them around. I would assume that it is the same reason why a lot of people don't like the convex shape on them. It is just a different preference of use. Personally I am disappointed by the concave style on them, and hope the final one is rounded off. Some 3rd party caps would solve that though.

At least they kept their positions in the symmetrical spots. Was really afraid that they would switch the dpad and left analog stick. That is a problem that you would need an entire third party controller to fix. Also super glad that they stayed with the flat face buttons. Really liking the triggers as well.

I am bummed about the share button instead of select, but also recognize that even though it is a feature I will never use/don't care about, it is something other people will like a lot. Would still love it if there was some sort of option to disable it. Biggest question I think I have is usage of the touchpad, with how much the controller seems designed around it. Seems like it will be another underutilized feature, but just because I can't think of good ways to use it doesn't mean devs will not. Only other issues seem small, like how odd the gloss looks on just the circles around face buttons. Maybe the traditional indented cross that the older controllers have would make it look less awkward. As long as it isn't the glass gloss that vita has, I don't think I will go into an ocd fit every time I see it in the light.

Wonder if the share and option buttons will be able to turned off some how so people with larger hands don't accidentally press them.

Pull out your current dualshock and dick around with it seeing how often you would touch something outside of the circle around the face buttons. When I just did that I was surprised that they haven't put buttons there before with how simple it is to reach them, and never going near the area accidentally.

Sliding in the Gravity Rush port!

Would rather that just use R3 and L3 with stick movement.

Thank fuck they changed the sticks. The rubbery texture they use for the DS3 is horrendous.

Did Sony choose not reveal the box so everyone would be talking about the platform and the new controller? Well played if that is the case.
