I mean... word of Sony's censorship policy came out after Spider-Man and it's still fairly new.
Mrs. Cleo predictionsDon't read too much into it though
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/11/dont-read-too-much-into-the-ps4s-million-day-one-sales/
were these numbers calculated before or after the announcement of the pervo anime games being "censored?" Because from the outrage on the thread here that had to amount to easily 10 - 15 million in lost sales.
Don't compare my post to theirs. I'm not shitting on fans or being combative. It's just a joke about the relative success of two competing brands.

Will have to wait for EA's estimates later this year.
i think it did after this holiday season. it had a stronger year overall.
sony should lower base ps4 to 199 permanently. and ps4 pro to 349 or 299 to break 110 mill next year
Why would anyone wait for EA's estimate? It's been proven factually incorrect. Will have to wait for EA's estimates later this year.
Aside from the presumed "hiding hardware numbers" thing, that is why Microsoft moved to engagement figures. What you just said is actually one of the very things they notated. When I hear numbers like that, I always think; Yeah, but how many have since died? How many are collecting dust in a closet? How many were smashed to bits by some jackass on Youtubue? How many are sitting on a used game store shelf? How many are actually still in use? How many are OG's? How many are Slims? How many are Pro's? How many are new and still sitting on a store shelf?
I mean, it's great to hear that the console I chose as my main has sold so well, but.....but....I need more detailed stats.
But 1st why do you want those stat? Detailed info cost money, unless it related to your bussiness i see no reason why any1 would want it.When I hear numbers like that, I always think; Yeah, but how many have since died? Unit sold is a marketing tool for a company, thats why u can have it for free. Detailed stat like how many A hardware, how many B hardware sold, where it sell most, when it sell most ect...is different. Its a company strategy, there's no way you can have that info. Or it must cost you very much$$$$$$Why would you want unit sold figures? Unless it's related to your business I see no reason why anyone would want it.
See how easily that is flipped on its head?

Sony must make ps5 retrocompatible to maintain those 90 million users and even increase them...
if only Sony could read my comment, only 1 thing should do well to win the next gen
After PS2's success Sony became cocky and they thought they could sell console with high price with barely any game when it first launched. Lets hope for PS5 Sony again doesn't get cocky because of PS4's success.
Not at the beginning. PS3 was very expensive and barely had any game to play when it first got released. Second half did much, much better.ps3 was a massive success for Sony which helped them push blu-ray which is now on both consoles

It is when you don't have the information as to how that number was derived and what it applies to.Over 90 million active monthly users? Fuck, that's even more impressive than the sold through number, imo.
That across PS4, PS3, Vita and services like PS Now on PC.Over 90 million active monthly users? Fuck, that's even more impressive than the sold through number, imo.
Congrats.
They sold 300k less this holiday than last year.
After 5 years on the market:
PS2: 100 million
Wii: 93.4 million
PS4: 91.6 million
PS1: 73 million
If Japan hadn't died and become what it is, it probably would have done better than the PS2.
PS2 is still behind PS4.After 5 years on the market:

Now in its 6th year, that's impressive
End of 2005 fiscal year, PS2 has 87 million units sold.

Beating PS2 is where it's heading.....Woah congrats! I was skeptical but it looks like 100+ mil ps4 is really possible.
So much for the lowball projections from Sony at 16 million, revised to 17 million etc...Well, X1 fell behind this year behind X360 in US launch aligned.
18 mil. with the price at 299 and less promotions compared to last year is nothing less but great.
18 mil. is still higher than the best X360 year ( and this is sold through vs shipments).
"In reaching 100 million units shipped after five years and nine months,

C-c-c-c
PS4 is on market 5 years and 2 months. PS4 is ahead of PS2 launch aligned about for 4-5 million units. PS2s 87 mil. were shipped, though.
Read you own link lol
C'mon.
