Does anybody know how the streaming works concerning audio output through party settings. Right now I'm host of the party and i'm streaming right now through the party and i can hear myself on my twitch channel but i can't hear my other friend in the party.

The thing is i went to his twitch channel and i can hear him and me on his just fine. I have the audio output set so people can hear the chat audio so i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or not?

Anybody have this problem or know what can be done about it????

Do you guys think it's safe for me to leave my PS4 in standby in a closed cabinet? Does it give off much heat? (Obviously, when I'm actually using it, the cabinet door stays open.)

I would not recommend it.

When you are in standby mode (orange LED), the system is in one of two power states: A) Deep Sleep - 10W power consumption, you can't hear the hard drive or fan B) Light Sleep - 70W power consumption. You will only be in this state if the system is downloading something while in standby (a patch/update). You will hear the hard drive and fan while it does the download. When the download is finished, it automatically goes into Deep Sleep.

So, if you have it in an enclosed space and your queue up a 30GB game download before bed, during the middle of the night your PS4 is going to cook itself with no airflow while it's doing the download.

PS4 definitely isn't silent. Anyone with a silent PS4 is headed for disaster because their fans are broken. But it's also not a loud fan. The game that pushes my PS4 the hardest is Killzone, and even then the noise isn't obtrusive at all. The drive is louder than the fans, and I'd compare its noise to that of the drive in the cheap Super slim PS3. Oddly enough the noise the drive makes when its installing games doesnt bother me. It's those little squeaks it makes when it's still spinning prior to turning off completely that annoys me.

Ps4 might not be silent but it is more than 60% quieter than my ps3 slim 120gb

My step-dad is a Vietnam vet. He's one of the ones that is not super proud about having served and refuses to talk about it. He asked to see my new "game" and I said what do you want to see. He couldn't decide so I showed him flower. He's 66, figured he'd be into the relaxing nature of it or something. Anyway he said he thought it was for women. So I showed him my games and he picked Battlefield. I was like...are you sure? And he's like yeah how bad could it be.

Anyway like 25 seconds after starting a level he left the room saying he was having a flashback and had to leave. lol.

That's what he gets for dissing Flower! lol.

It was fascinating to watch him comment, because he wasn't even sure when I was supposed to be playing and when the game was doing something. But he just wasn't into it

i think the only time I ever seen him get into anything was when I was little he would play pong a lot, and later on PS3 move he got into bocci ball with my sister. But that only lasted about two weeks.

PS4 is near silent. Only noise I hear from it is when I turn it on or start up a disc. Whether is be a BR movie or game, the spinning makes a noise for a few seconds then it goes away.

Ya def not a vacuum cleaner, I was also concerned if it had enough space behind it, but it has a good few inches before the back of the shelf, so I think it should be fine. Sony has to figure people would put these things on entertainment sections/shelves that don't always have open rears.

Does anyone use Music Unlimited?

I love being able to listen to my playlists while playing Resogun and Need for Speed: Rivals -- however every song that plays will stop and start (to buffer?) a bunch of times during the song. Super frustrating

I know it isn't my connection. Does this happen to anyone else? I've just been assuming it has something to do with PSN's spottiness, but I'm curious if it's just me.

Yea i was using it and songs would stop but in my case they didnt start up again. Dont know if its the service or the ps4 causing this. Considering how iffy it can be im leaning toward the service being the problem.

By default every time you press the Share button and go to the Share menu it automatically stores the last 15 mins of footage and starts a new chunk of video of footage. If you press Share again before a full 15 mins are up you won't get a full 15 min capture, you'll get whatever occurred after the first time you pressed Share up to the second time you press Share. So if you're constantly pressing Share you'll be constantly saving small chunks of video to your HDD.

If you go to the Share menu and press options you can switch the Share button function to tap for pic/long press for Share menu, so you're not constantly saving video while trying to take screenshots.

I stand corrected. I just checked my upload history and the PS4 uploaded the cloud saves for all games that had changed since the last upload on its own. I love it. Just waiting for the 1080p update to arrive for Assassins Creed without me manually doing it. Hopefully that comes soon.

I believe you just click on the video and go to edit. Then you just trim the video and save it. Only bad thing is you can only upload to Facebook right now.

It's not available from the store or the download list, but I think it's included in the recovery software cause you can see the tile in HDD upgrade videos.

AFAICT, yes. I've switched my Share button setting to tap for screenshot/hold for Share Menu cause I don't want videos created every time I take a pic.
