I accidentally cancelled the free fall map dl at first. I have the digital version and like you said, there is no option to redownload dlc. I just tried to redownload the game and it downloaded the dlc map. It said that it couldn't download the game cuz it's already installed but it downloaded the map just fine!yeah, this is really unintuitive..
from what it looks like:
a) you can't download DLC without first downloading/installing the game.
b) after you download the DLC, it updates the download/install file/package directly
someone else can maybe confirm, but if you want to delete individual DLC or such you no longer have that choice. You now have to delete either the entire game/cache (though this doesn't affect your saves)
My copy of Killzone is lost somewhere in Phoenix too. I had exactly one shipping update (package received by carrier) and then nothing. Purchased on the 11th, was supposed to get here on the 15th, and then nothing. Amazon refunded my purchase and gave me a $10 GC to help pay back shipping on another copy (couldn't even buy it from Amazon, because they have a 1 per customer policy currently. Had to buy it from a marketplace seller). Not sure exactly what's going on in your situation though, as I'm in the US.Hey guys sorry to bother all of you with this, especially in this thread, however it is the most active one for all things PS4.
I ordered a PS4 from Amazon as soon as some stock popped up on launch day, to ship to Australia.(Fastest possible shipping, which they auto picked DHL Express)
Some others on a Australian forum ordered 2-3 hours later then me and have got theirs already and some will be receiving it tomorrow.(everyone is posting their tracking info)
Amazon:
Latest Event: Phoenix AZ
Package received by carrier November 15, 2013 12:00:00 AM
DHL/Amazon Chat:
Friday, November 15, 2013 Location Time
1 Shipment information received PHOENIX, AZ USA 00:00
As seen above, I contacted Amazon chat after DHL told me they only received the Shipment information, not the package itself, rep confirmed it, still assured me 20th November delivery date.
That was 10 hours ago, my package has still not been given to DHL, I doubt very much it will arrive in Australia by the 20th of November.
I'm devastated as information is confusing me, Amazon website says it has given the package, while the Amazon customer service confirmed they had issues giving the package to DHL.
Here is the kicker, same goes for my Assassins Creed 4 order, that one is the same as PS4, stuck in Phoenix and not budging since the 12th which was the shipping day.
Anyone have a similar experience? My hype is dying here, almost like Grinch stole my present.
So last night I bought Need For Speed Rivals from the PSN store. It downloaded overnight (along with the other 2 games I purchased) and installed, but it only seems to have done a portion, as after playing the tutorial I'm taken to an "Installing Game..." screen. Is it still downloading? It is going EXTREMELY slowly, about 1% every 5-10 minutes, with 55% to go. It doesn't show up in my downloads list. Is this something that will happen in the background like other game's downloading/installation? Or do I need to be in the game on this screen for the download/installation to take place?
ok now it's time to check the shipment ( 2 PS4 DualShock 4 Bundle from Amazone ) , the second PS4 for my brother , going to wait for him so he can check it by himself
going to open 1 and check if there's any defect or anything wrong with it /nervous
i will report back
Gamestop has a new "Epic" bundle in stock. Seems they are taking great advantage of a PS4 shortage.

GAF,
I've been browsing many of the next-gen topics and trying to take in everyone's thoughts/opinions. I'm not biased towards Sony or MS, it's just really difficult choosing between the two consoles.
2 things made the 360 my console of choice. XBL and the controller. I thoroughly enjoyed my 360, it's games and switched over to PS3 after my 360 died for the 4th time. For the past 1.5 years, I've enjoyed catching up on Sony's PS3 hits.
Yesterday I had the chance to use the PS4 and loved the controller. However, can anyone shed light on the online aspect? Is it more cohesive and thought out like XBL? Is it easier to see what my friends are doing and join them? I felt so secluded on the PS3. XBL really, well at least for me, it really felt like a cohesive system. It was easy to navigate, and I knew that my friends were always within reach.
Yes, the initial download is just 4 gigs for NFS, the whole game is around 18.
And welcome to the awesome world of slow-as-hell PSN downloads. Don't ask about it here though, people will just say "mine is super fast you're doing it wrong".
I get about 500k/s from PSN on the PS4 from Time Warner in Brooklyn. Steam, iPhone, 360 all max my connection out at 6MB/s.

Very interesting i thought everyone was getting blazing fast speeds.

yeah this is something i would like added. When i get a new message i wished it would just pull up the message when i hit the ps button. So far online has been a good experience. The UI is cleaned up and a bit more streamlined. I'm coming from being primarily a 360 user (I have a PS3 as well). Party system seems fine, I've not joined a game as a party yet, we just chat. I will say that the Social system to accept friend requests is a drawn out process:
get notification of friend request
hit PS button
navigate to the notification
Select notification to have it bring you to profile or requester
View request
Accept request
More drawn out than hitting the Xbox guide button and accepting. Then you need to do it all again if they want to request real names.
I thought there was a "Follow" system in this too like the X1 will have... not found it yet though.
I'm coming from 11 years of XBL. I'm not feeling like I'm part of a big community when on the PS4 like I felt on XBL. I'm not even getting notification of when a friend comes online.GAF,

the notifications are customizable in the settingsI'm coming from 11 years of XBL. I'm not feeling like I'm part of a big community when on the PS4 like I felt on XBL. I'm not even getting notification of when a friend comes online.
Maybe I just need to get used to where things are and be patient that things will run better in the weeks to come. Just doesn't feel as intuitive right now.
Quick question, what type of cable is the charging cable? I want to buy a longer one from amazon or monoprice.
Is it USB to microUSB or somthing else?
Mini usb.
Are you sure? I thought PS3 used Mini and PS4 used Micro.
This may be a stupid question, but Is there a way to display when your friends get online? I haven't noticed it while I'm either in game or just browsing the UI. I have to keep checking my friends list manually.
why does one have more bubble than the other. lol. but congrats. good luck and have fun on the most powerful gaming console ever conceived this generation
Anyone can recommend a good TV to purchase to get the most of the PS4?
It seems that mine is dying. Screen flickers a lot, sounds cuts sometimes and eventually, the screen always turn black; at first i feared it was my PS4, but now it happens even on my PS3 and WiiU :/
This is a bug I believe. There is no option to turn this off or on right now. Once they get it fixed I hope there are options to turn it off however. I prefer to not have them pop up.
OK. Just making sure. Messages pop up just fine, but friends being online doesn't
Do we have a list of upcoming games? I'm almost done with Killzone and CoD and it looks like I'll keep playing Resogun for the foreseeable futrue. I'd like to see what's coming in the next month or two.
Greatness has arrived!
Unfortunately it did so in a tight ass box with 0 extra padding in it. I didn't even get one of those shitty air bags on top and because of that the ps4 box is dented in several places. This is not off to a good start...
