So if everything goes smoothly, I may get my PS4 today! What should I look into to see if my system has any issues?

I'm aware of the HDMI issue, the standby not working, optical audio and resolution not projecting 720p/1080p, auto download of updates/demos through playstation app on my phone and obviously a noisy fan. any other issues i should check for?

I'm learning towards Lego Marvel but I've also been tempted by Knack.

What would you guys recommend?

I'd go for lego marvel (well, I am) but then I like lego games and my kids enjoy them too. They have a nice sense of humour and look good. Also if you buy your console from GAME you get it half price..

Ok guys I have a question, I was watching the giant bomb stream of the launch and noticed some MASSIVE updates on day 1, that shitty NBA game had an update of 2GB, CoD has a 700MB update, as someone who doesn't have fast internet, are these updates hosted anywhere on the internet and can be downloaded like how Xbox has some updates on the official website, if not, does PS4 support resume/pause etc ?

Just so you know ...Gamestop stores will be opening up midnight black friday which is thanksgiving night/Black Friday 12AM and they will have PS4's available for walk-ins. I plan on getting my PS4 that night in a few days. I have around 6 gamestops in my area and i called everyone and all of them said yes they will have non-bundle PS4's available for walk-ins..no pre-orders necessary.

Just wanted to mention this in case you live in the USA. I am in the Chicago area so i am not sure if this is true in all cities or what..since i live in a larger city maybe this is only for gamestops in larger cities? Not sure...

I'm from Brazil and the only store that can send me one is Amazon.
But thanks anyway, maybe I'll ask for a friend of mine who is in the US this week to bring me one.

I currently have it vertical out of necessity and it seems fine. No excessive heat or noise. I'm also stand less but will eventually, reluctantly buy one. Seems pretty stable as is though.

No, there isn't another place to download game updates.

Yes, the system does support pause/resume. If your console errors out while doing a game update, it will show 'could not download' under notifications. Simply click it and choose' retry' and it will continue from where it stopped.

I had mine in a slightly larger shelf, but with a smaller vent hole and it was getting pretty loud and hot. I moved on top on the TV stand and everything's good now. Not nearly as loud (even playing disc games) and it only gets warm.

Btw, clean that shit up. Looks filthy.

I think all of North America is on one system. So codes are interchangeable.

I have a question about sharing. I created a dummy FB account so that I can upload photos. I hit the share button and upload my photos fine. My question is, where do I go to upload the photos on my system that I've not uploaded already? I go to System -> System Storage Management and can see all my photos there, but when I go to a photo I do not have the option to upload it? The only way I seem to be able to upload a photo is to hit the share button; which will take a shot of what I'm doing, and then back out and go to the photo I actually want to upload. Is there a better way?

I know you can't redeem PSN money codes as they aren't interchangeable. I don't know if PSN+ or game codes can be redeemed which is why I was worried. I know they share the same PSN store but I'm still hesitant.

EDIT: Just confirmed that game codes and their DLC are redeemed based on regional basis. Since the US and Canada are Region 1, those game and DLC codes are interchangeable.

Also just confirmed that PSN+ codes are redeemable in Canada. So go to Amazon and buy the $29.99 codes on Friday you Canadians!

I got mine Monday morning at Target. There were two left. I'd always stop by the electronics at Walmart or Target if I had to make a trip, but to no avail. Then I got up early Monday morning, had a hunch, and lo and behold. I tell ya, my 360 got the majority of my playtime last gen, with my Wii being second and PS3 being last (3DS/DS trumps everything, though, of course). When the Xbox One was announced, I wasn't pleased with their DRM. Then they changed their minds. Then I noticed the $500 price tag. Then I noticed the lack in power at a higher cost. Then I noticed the Microsoft partnership with the NSA. Then I noticed the bloatware that makes up the Xbox One's interface. Then I noticed how the Kinect is required for a lot of stuff. Then I realized that I can watch TV on my TV and wondered what the Xbox One could do to make it better. But then I don't have cable TV. Then I noticed the lack of quality titles on a weaker machine with inferior multiplatform ports. Then I noticed the $500 pricetag again and how far off Halo 5 is. Then it released, it was still $500, it's the size of a house, and I don't really care about the Xbox brand anymore outside of GTAV playtime. And then, Skype banning users for cursing. Microsoft banning players from uploading clips for cursing. So on and so forth.

AND THEN

The PS4 is $400, most titles are 1080p sans Battlefield, Resogun, indie support, cheaper service (got PS+ for $40, may nab the $30 one on Black Friday), minimalist OS, streaming, OPTIONAL camera, the power, etc., etc. So much bang for the buck. I am very pleased.

Then hey, I got one, although my wife had a word with me. I only have Call of Duty: Ghosts and Resogun at the moment, but that works. 1080p magic with titles I'll care about for the long haul.

It's coming out in early January. I'm happy with my stereo in-ear headphones so I can't comment on the latter part of your question.
