Anyone else finding their PS4 isn't maxing out their internet speed? Trying to download and install digital games is taking HOURS. When I checked my network settings, the test showed I was only getting 10Mb/s, a third of what I get using my PC.

After buying BF4 and NBA 2k14 digitally, both games seem to "install" incredibly slowly. BF4 is downloading roughly 1% every 20 mins, NBA managed 3% during the time it took to play the whole demo match.

If this is the case for every digital game then I'm sticking to discs, this is ridiculous.

Bf4 aint no fun to me. Always get put in terrible servers and the maps suck. Dont even get me started on the sp.

Shpuld have bought Rivals or Ac4 instead damnit.

Yep. Both games are through my US account so whether it's got a rubbish connection to the US servers, I don't know. But having to leave the game on the title screen for what's likely to be a good few hours is ridiculous.

You don't have to be on the title screen for BF. I left my PS4 on standby and when I turned it on hours later it finished installing.

I just came home and beheld my PS4 for the first time. Looks really interesting, but not as beautiful as the chrome-striped phat that sits dead on a shelf. The penis handle is evident in person, funny stuff.

Controller sits amazingly comfortable in my hand, oinly R1/L1 are positioned in a way that doesct fit how I press them on DS3. Here they rest on the middle of my index finger, I used the joint or the lower half of the tip on DS3. Sticks feel good, but the top feels tiny. I personally would've used a straight up convex top like DS3, I don't like the concave+ring design of the 360 either.

Wish I had KZ, but AC4, Knack and maybe even BF4 should suffice for now.

As soon as I'm done with the welcome cuddling with my cat I'll give this bad boy (or is the PS4 a classy lady?) a spin :O

My console has been on for around 8 hours now, the BF4 full game install hasn't changed, it's only when I load the game does it eventually move.

Looks like it's a general issue with digital games, Google shows others experienced massive download times as well. That's me avoiding digital from now on then.

Coming from Steam, I really wanted to go digital but this puts me right off.

Quick question! I've been on the PS3 lately and checked out my Download List through the PlayStation Store. Are PS4 games supposed to show up in the Download List on the PS3? I only ask because I didn't see Resogun (only thing I've downloaded on the PS4) but it definitely shows up through the web store fine.

So I googled my issue with the R1 button sticking and apparently I wasn't alone. I was able to fix mine and it is glorious, I even did the L1 and plan on doing this to any future controller I get. I took a small poster nail and was able to pry off the R1 button. The button is actually designed to pop off and be put back on. Zero chance of screwing anything up, unless you use a huge nail and decide to use a hammer. There are these two plastic posts that each bumper slide up and down on. They had slight manufacturer residue on them. I cleaned off the posts with a q-tip and blew into the holes on the back of the bumpers with canned air. That probably would've been enough, but I put the tiniest about of WD-40 in the holes on the back of the bumper and let it dry. Popped the bumpers back on and both feel better than they did day one. I'm telling you this because this is apparently a widespread issue and probably will happen to you regardless of how clean you keep the controller as this was done on manufacturing. Hope this helps!

Yeah right now it is Lego Marvel, FIFA and Trine 2 with demos.

Can I also just say how much I effin love the game pages on PSN now? They look awesome with the full screen display of the game, same with the pages when in the UI.

I just posted in the DS4 thread, but will say so here too. I just fixed mine by taking the controller apart and cleaning the posts. I resisted using WD40 because it can be quite harmful on certain types/grades of plastic. The offending L1 shoulder button is perfect now.

For the record, I tried to take the buttons off without taking the back off the controller, but I couldn't manage it. Taking it apart was easy though, just grip the controller once it's open to stop anything falling out. The reset button fall out and so did the battery on mine. Both easy to put back, but other things might be a bitch.

Ok I seriously need to figure out what's going on with this thing. Does the PS4 just have really shitty wi fi or does some of the network features on the dashboard routinely have problems loading due to PSN failure? When it happens for me I notice the what's new section will not load and neither will the details of a game, they just have that spinning circle in a loop. The PS store also won't load when it happens either, it'll just boot to a blank blue screen. However my friends list will still display and my trophy list will still sync as well.

I thought maybe it was my connection but I did a speed test on my PC (also using wi fi, and it's a few feet further from the PS4 and modem) and it was fine there. It seems to be relatively frequent but random as well. One minute it'll be like that then 5-10 minutes later it'll be fine again.

edit: Now when it's working I go to the store and click on a game to download and then I get the blank screen again. I wanted to download warframe tonight but I guess that plan is screwed.

The tips of the grips of the DS4 that I bought separate are loose and kinda move when you grip it a bit, the tips of the one that came in the box don't feel that way, theres also a noticeable gap between the plastic on top of the controller near the tips of the standalone one, are there wild variations throughout the line? Well I sold my Xbox one few days ago on ebay for £700 as to be honest I did enjoy Ryse and Battlefield 4 on there but a realisation hit me that MS did try shorthand us originally with the message they sent out and I think my girlfriend was annoyed hearing me say * Xbox * a lot anyway, But I just bought a ps4 albeit costing more than what I laid out for the Xbox one and expecting it this week, I truly hope the console is fine and not DOA because the whole PSN thing will be new too me aswell( Xbox last 10yrs ) and that seems down after reading on here, The lights issue is confusing etc as the Xbox one was pretty straightforward in setup.

All in all im excited to be back with Playstation as the ps1 will always be my fave console ever, But also worried and nervous but I suppose all launches have teething issues.

For those who had to do the pw reset, how long do you have to wait to receive the email? I tried both on my PC and ps4 and it said it was sent, but now it's two hours later and still no email.

Google suggests others are having this issue... Kind of ridiculous that this is isn't an instant process, IMO.

Been playing around with the PS4 over the weekend. Is it just me or is the PS Store still very laggy? The images seem to judder a lot when moving between entries and sometimes the whole store freezes up for a second or 2 when I select a new category. The whole OS seems very bare bones at the moment especially compared to the PS3 at launch which had tons of features even from the first day, it seems to have lost a lot of features especially in the A/V department. The store itself has very little content in it at the moment as well, not many demos, game videos e.t.c. the Vita store was quite populated at launch. The whole release just seems a bit rushed to me.

Finally set my PS4 up today. Update and downloading stuff was really quick.
I downloaded Resogun, Contrast and Flower (free - cross play). I also installed BF4 from the disc whilst playing some Resogun.

It's all so good. So fast.
