It's fucking lame, especially for those of us who got hacked back in 09? 10? We all got a month of PSN+ so come this year, I couldn't see what it was like.
 
Weird. Downloaded the update and it said "Waiting to install" but didn't do anything. Went to the settings -> System update and now it's downlaoding the updated again.
 
The screen has dropped a couple of times on me while playing - once in Warframe and once on the main menu... Just for half a second or so but I'm worried I've got that HDMI error...

From what I gather the next shipment of consoles comes in early January, so... yeah. I tried to go pick one up in a few stores today, but no luck. I'm kinda surprised that it had garnered so much interest before 9am. Oh well, I can wait....

Yup. Seeing how they gave PS+ to everyone after the hack, it's a super shitty move since that covers most of their hardcore fanbase who will be buying day one.

Stupid q but did you reseat your HDMI cable? I've had that happen if my connection is loose on my WiiU/PS3/360

I've swapped my old HDMI for the swanky new one that comes with the PS4 and I've had no problems so far (touch wood)

I'll keep an eye on it just in case - never picked up a console at launch so I'm extra paranoid :p
 
Mine arrived. So, it downloaded the firmware in the download section, waited to install, then downloaded again when I went to the far right menu. How weird?!
 
Anyone know how to link PS4 to Facebook if you have two-factor authentication turned on on Facebook? I tried using Code Generator but it didn't work.

I had a ps+ subscription prior and was able to use the 30 day code. It was the free month from the hacking incident.
 
Downloaded the 1.51 update with 5mb per second, contrast, warframe and resogun took no time at all either. Was only planning to buy KZ:SF but listening to the bombcast on the way over convinced me to pick up AC4 as well after having not played any AC since 2. This actually makes me really satisfied with the launch even though i was really down on the launch titles. Resogun, AC4, KZ and Warframe should be able to tide me over for now. I'll post a picture later in it's sexiness :)
 
PS4 is amazing and the DS4 feels like it was made for my hands, beautiful bit of kit.

UK PSN downloads are smooth as silk on my BT line downloaded everything update, games, patches in less than 40 minutes.

Whoa, wait a second. Not only did you guys get the official vertical stand and controller charger that we will likely never see, but you also go the bad ass colored controllers? Now I'm just pissed. I want a second controller, but I am holding out on getting one until I can get a blue one.
 
i want to ask. how loud is your ps4 when you are playing heavy games like battlefield 4 from the drive ?

i am not talking about the vertical ps4 here. just normal horizontal ps4.

i noticed that my ps4 fan speed kicks in after while. not kicks in as in very loud. but if i mute the tv i can hear the ps4 while i am like 1 meter away from it.

again. not very loud fan speed like when you put it the ps4 in vertical. but louder than say,, playing call of duty ghosts.

Yea lots of us lol. To make things worse, my disc based games have not been delivered yet! So I'm just staring at an error message and listening to soothing background music
 
Guys bombshell, I was moving my ps4 after playing and I accidently turned it on while holding it in my hands - completely disconnected from any cables.

of course it only turned on for two seconds... just still scared me with that beep !
 
Question:

Since i can't log into PSN, and thus my account, if i play some of the retail games i bought now, will any trophies carry over to when i can eventually log in?

Back when I posted that over an hour ago people weren't complaining, it was starting just then. Also reminds me that I'm trying to log in for over an hour now...

lol it let me in for about 2 mins, but by the time I had set my privacy settings...disconnect! lol
