PS4 official European waiting thread - come here and wait with us!

Got a week booked off for launch. December is a very busy month for me and I usually take a week off around this time.

I've have the Amazon £425 Battlefield 4/Killzone bundle preordered and I have CoD Ghosts already sitting on my shelf.

I'll be making use of the cross buy and PS+ games too. I'll also tryout the free to plays games.

The killer feature for me is remote play. I already have a Vita and the girlfriend loves her soaps and animal shows.

I may get Assassin's Creed 4, Lego Marvel and the camera around Christmas.

I'll be getting the official pack with Killzone, an extra controller and the camera. I had some money reserved for an extra game or two, but I'm thinking about spending that on Tearaway, Super Mario 3D world and A Link Between Worlds because frankly, they seem to be more enjoyable. I'll probably get Assassin's Creed and NBA2K14 in January on a deal.
 
I'm buying the Mega Bundle, also will be buying Knack and NFS:R. Also have Black Flag: Black Chest edition pre-ordered from the Ubistore which apparently will be here by the 22nd! :)

Surely there must be other electrical goods stores you can try to get one? I don't know if you're in the UK but places like Curry's, PC World, Argos might be good places to try.
 
Getting the Killzone mega bundle and a charging dock.

Going to Games midnight launch in my local town. Paying for it day before for hopefully quick pickup.
 
I will be getting PS4 with an additional controller, a vertical stand and some games. Specifically, Killzone, Knack, AC4 and NFS: Rivals. I also have PS+, so I have a lot to play in the first weeks of the next generation.

A bit worried about the reports of faulty units. I hope Sony fixes that in the next two weeks.

By the way, what do you guys do to make the next 13 days seem shorter and make the wait less painful?
 
I'm waiting impatiently for November 29!!

I will take PS4 whit Killzone, ACIV, Battlefield 4, NFS Rivals and FIFA 14!!
Also I am a PS Plus subscriber, and then will play free Resogun and Contrast!
Finally, I believe that I will buy Trine 2 from PS Store

I believe that on the night of 28 will not sleep! :-D

I'm wondering if it's worth cancelling my confirmed pre order from Shopto and try to get the console from my local John Lewis store because they give free 2 years guarantee. Seeing how it's John Lewis, there might not be a queue, but then again I live in Liverpool :P

Do you know anyone with a current account that offered extended warranties as part of their packages ?

I know all royalties accounts with RBS give 2 extra years as long as you pay with your RBS debit card
 
I was gona get the Amazon(uk) fifa mega pack. But I will probably get the ps4 at my local store where I also have guaranteed day 1 and can just pick it up. The main reason being that with day one delivery I only save about €20 on the pack, and with the camera not looking very interesting I'd rather buy the console and then the games from the us ps store So I can buy more games instead and get all gamed digitally. The amazon deal is still pretty good if you don't want day one delivery, but I don't want to wait another week for the ps4.

My launch games will probably be: Madden 25, Fifa 14, Killzone, Flower, NFS Rivals.

I've got a gold account with TSB but no idea if they do something like that. Have a friend who has a current account with Barclays but he only has a regular account and they only do it for their premium accounts where you pay a fee every month.
 
The DOA consoles in the US have me a bit worried, but i'm hoping i'm one of the majority. I was "that guy" with the 360 launch and i'm hoping i'm not "that guy" again. Ordered from shopto. Mega bundle, along with BF4, COD, NFS and AC 4..oh, and a controller charge station...took the day and following week off work too, so it bloody better work...lol.
 
Which UK stores are offering a guarantee or protection plan. I ordered from amazon and they do not offer anything.

I'm just dreading the fact that I could get a faulty unit or my PS4 failing after a couple of months
 
Thought I could be patient but after seeing the UI, streaming, party chat and games, I've lost it and want it now.

It's going to be a long 2 weeks.

My local game store is doing a midnight opening so may head down there.

Kind of hoping the pal models are made somewhere else now. Im also getting mine from shopto
 
Already got AssCreed 4, Injustice and NFS Rivals from Amazon's B2G1 sale couple of days ago; I hope they'll arrive in time for PS4's EU launch (AssCreed and Injustice at least, NFS isn't shipped yet). And with PS Plus offerings and Killzone & Knack review codes, I'll be more than happy for quite some time. Buuuut, I still haven't secured my PS4, and I'll probably travel to Germany to try and get one on launch day. Anyone got any idea when will German stores get their stock and when will they know how many PS4s do they have for us who haven't preordered it in time?

And yeah, I'm a bit worried about getting a faulty one, but not as worried as I was couple of days ago, before US launch and during all that humdrum and fearmongering with Taco Bell bricked consoles.

You can return anything within 1 year for a replacement. You don't need anything extra.

Now if UK would start following EU rules it would have been 2 years :/
 
It's not released officially in my country... so the local stores here ( like always ) are importing the consoles from the US and sell them double the price, just got a call telling me it's 990$ -_-'

I cancelled my amazon uk pre-order because I want to wait for Infamous Second Son, but if the JL 2 year warranty is time limited that will push me over the edge

I did not know that JL give 2 years warranty until your post - do you have a link for that please ?

If we get a unit from Amazon and say it breaks after 6 months, will they cover it and exchange or is that a Sony thing?

EDIT: Just found out we have 30 days and then it's a Sony issue. Might get that extended warranty from their site or get it from John Lewis.
 
To be honest, I'm not worried about getting a faulty console as the number of faulty units seems to be pretty standard figure amongst consumer electronics and it's covered by a warranty. Hopefully I won't get one anyway!

These are the games I'm getting. I traded in loads of games over the life of the current gen but didn't bother spending any so it sort of feels like I'm getting the console and games for free as I'm not handing over any money. I've still got about £80 on my card so I may pick up something else.

I also picked up two £25 PSN vouchers last week as they were in a sale so cost me £40 for the two of them. I'm also subscribed to Plus for another five years or so as we kept stacking subscriptions when they were in sales. It's worked out really well so far as the ONLY thing we've actually handed cash over for is the two PSN vouchers so this feels like it has been the easiest launch ever, we've ended up with pretty much everything and it only feels like we've spent £40.

FUUUU i keep getting dragged back in to the launch hype. Think I'm going to pick up Killzone and use my BF4 voucher for the digital version.

Unless there's a different rule for consoles you can just return it to Amazon. I have returned a lot of electronics Amazon several months after purchasing them.
 
Getting Killzone and Knack with mine and will be downloading Resogun too. I'm not in a wild panic regarding the issues some of the NA consoles are having, but at this point I just want to have it in my hands so I can determine whether I'm affected by anything or not. Then get on to the important thing of playing games.

I'm getting the bog standard basic package, a PS4 and a controller. I haven't ordered any of the launch games, because there was nothing there that caught my interest (I'm mainly a PC gamer, btw). I will be getting PS+ and expect to pick up some games there, though.

I haven't owned a PS since the PS1, so I'm sort of returning to my console roots here. I'm a little worried about getting a dodgy unit, but that's the risk you take with early adoption. I got a 360 launch unit that failed within a week that MS replaced very quickly and I expect Sony would do the same, if it happens with the PS4.
 
Hello chaps. Good news is the 29th is payday and also the start of my winter holiday from work. Bad news, I pre-ordered in September!

I've noticed this as well retailers pricing the products at RRP during launch period is just sad when the same game costs much less than their RRP on other platform.

A DS4 costs £54 here while it's $60 in America, even if you include state taxes you are paying a lot less. In fact importing games and accessories from USA would turn out to be cheaper than buying them here even if you factor in shipping and VAT.

It's early days. I remember GAME selling the original Saints Row for 360 at £50 and that was about a year after the 360 launch. FWIW, Playasia are selling US versions for around £37 before postage if you're stuck but hopefully the online retailers will soon settle around the £40 mark.
 
29th is going to be an incredible for me. PS4 and pay day - in which I'm expecting a hefty back payment of owed wages - on the same day. It's going to be gooooood.

The wait is unbearable though. I'm starting to reach fever pitch with it.

This is not going to be a fun 2 weeks :(

That said its only 2 weeks, which is good in comparison to most other launches :)

On order from Amazon, as you can see I'm fond of the number 4. Can't wait for launch day....
 
I'm getting the mega pack from amazon.fr (PS4, KZ, two controllers and the camera) on 29th. It will be a long wait.

I'm very afraid of having a faulty PS4, furthermore because i'm getting another PS4 for a friend (no scalping lol, he'll pay the good price) and i fear to have mine DOA and not the other one... Would commit suicide i guess.

Anyone knows if the consoles we'll receive are the same ones (hardware speaking) than the US ones? I know electric cables aren't the same. But the fact that we could have a little different package than them would imply that we will not receive the same faulty batch.
 
Killzone big pack for me. I don't think I will buy another game for the moment, just profit of PS+, f2p and cross-buy games.
 
My ex colleauge got scared due all this bad news and he is offering me his preorder for 15% less than retail.
I wasnt planning on going next gen until next year but this is tempting.
Maybe i should wait few more days to see how things go.... Dont know what to do...so far i was always lucky with new hardware (except first xbox360 which rrod-ed after 9 months)

As salty european who hates that we always get things later than americans may i suggest comforting topic for OT : "PS4 - beta tested in USA" :)
(As a play on xbox beta tested in future ad)
