PS4 official European waiting thread - come here and wait with us!

I bought a 3 month code off GAME.co.uk, entered it, got to the confirm screen and pressed accept. It paused for a minute or two, then was hit with another message saying it was invalid/used. Checked PSN to see if I was + but still nothing.
Every time I try to enter it, I get no message.
 
Quick note for anyone getting choppy streaming on PSVita, make sure power saving on wifi is unchecked

Been scratching my head for about an hour wondering why this wasn't working and Resogun was having spasms. Different world when you uncheck that box.

The one under power save settings?

"Use Wi-Fi in Power Save Mode" that needs to be unchecked?

I did, for about 5 mins, press O - it will let you back out.

I used the PSN free trial but when I try and play Battlefield it says 'You must be signed in to Playstation Network and EA servers to access online features.'

It also says 'Update Downloaded. Ready to install.' And nothing seems to be happening. This is so frustrating.

I had to quit the game and restart for the install to begin.

My brother has trouble signing in to psn. Is this a widespread problem?
 
Finally got signed in. By the way, why on earth do I have to input a state(?) and postcode? What use could PSN possibly have for that information?
 
Trying to log in to PSN but I get stuck on "Please wait". Anyone know if it's better to quit out and put my details in again or just wait?
 
Tip for any new PS4 owners... when typing click the R3 stick. It allows you to use the gyroscope to type, and once you get used to it makes typing much quicker.

You can change the options in the share menu so just hitting it saves a picture while holding it brings up the menu. Feels much more natural that way personally.
 
Question about Killzone shadowfall download. I have put it on downloading multiplayer in the game now. Do I have to have killzone running for it to do that, or can I play another game and it still downloads MP?

Also where exactly is the ps plus 14 days because i cannot seem to find it. The only code i found was for the ono offer.
 
Ugh. Finally made it through to the screen where you choose whether to use your real name etc. and it fails again. I've been trying intermittently for around 6 hours and that's the second time I've got that far. So I still haven't managed to log in even once.
 
Just curious, right now Battlefield 4 is installing, could I at any point load and play Assassin's Creed 4 (that's already on my hard drive) while this installs?

You can play other things. Eventually you will get notification that KZSF is ready to be started. :)
 
DS4 is the best commercially available controller so far on this planet. Its the star of the show, kudos to the team who had final say in putting that one together.
 
What Sony did to launch PS4 in Europe, I mean specifically in Rome, is so far beyond insane, that there just are no words..

Fair enough.

For me, I really enjoyed the variation in pacing. There's a great mix of quiet moments, loud moments, and stealth all mixed in with some of the most compelling environments I've seen in a long time. It's a breath of fresh air, honestly.

It's the type of shooter I enjoy simply because you're not always engaged in combat and, in general, enemies come in smaller numbers.

I highly suggest waiting with the SSD replacement, until Sony releases a patch that allows to disable the constant recording of your games (the last 15 minutes of your game).

The way how it works now, it constantly records the gameplay to the HDD, or SSD in your case. And you cant disable that feature ATM. So it produces constant write cycles on the SSD. And we all know that non stop write cycles arent the best thing for a SSD drive.

btw- is anyone else just scrolling all the pages and just caring for pics/video links? :D

Supposedly on the Playstation Store. I've not been able to claim it.

Reading what it says a little more closely, I noticed that you're only eligible for the offer if you've never been a subscriber, or never had a trial offer before. I never really bothered subscribing to PS+ as I spent a lot of my gaming on PC. I did however take the free 30 day trial back when PSN got hacked.

I'm guessing I can't actually have the trial because I took the trial back then. That was years ago though...

To me it looked like the video is allways writing to the hdd, I mean where else, it would take away too much RAM?

From how I understood it, any time you press the share button, you can upload the last 15 min from that point and they need to be stored somewhere, Im sure not in the RAM.
 
I'm really entranced by my PS4!
Killzone is beautiful, graphically amazing! Also very nice and fun to play! Gorgeous!
In addition to detail, wonderful textures, light effects, what amazed me is the cleanliness graphics of these games! Crazy!

FIFA 14 for the lovers of football games is fantastic!
Resogun is too gorgeous!
Playroom lot of fun!
Later I'll try the rest (ACIV, NFS Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Knack)! But I'm really happy for now, PS4 is a jewel!

er... I don't think so.

These standard endurance rates are more than enough for most applications. For example, a 64GB SSD with MLC NAND Flash, ECC, and wear-leveling technology could have 22GB of new data written to it every day for five years before endurance would become a problem.

And that's on a small 64Gb HDD. On a larger HDD you're going to be more then fine.
