Pre ordered today and ready to go... Gamestop still was taking orders.. 4 day weekend for myself next weekend... No midnight release but it's fine I'm old and will be in bed at 9pm est to get up early with coffee and gaf next Thursday...

I'm not surprised. My local Gamestop which is fairly busy has 7 Pro pre orders one of which is mine. pretty much the same amount at another one near me. i found out when i asked if they were doing a midnight opening and the guy just laughed.
You're welcome! I wish the devs would all state exactly what their plans are for future and past games. We need a massive spreadsheet to keep track of it all, it's confusing!
The system draws more power and has to dissipate more heat. So between an improved power supply, heat sink, and enhanced air circulation it's pretty much a given that it's going to be larger. Whether or not they also chose to accommodate a taller drive bay is still unanswered. Ensuring that they're not inviting still more heat from aftermarket drives would be a consideration.

Also, it seems that HDR is something that select titles are getting, is this right? Or is it a requirement for games "pro enchanced?" Probably the only thing I'm not clear about.

Maybe slightly off-topic but it would be better than necroing another thread for a question i'm sure people in here can answer about the pro. Will all games that come out going forward have the super sampling if you are playing at 1080p?

That's up to the developer. The only mandatory thing is that every game released from October needs to have a dedicated Pro mode, but that can also mean increased graphic fidelity as far as I understand. Not implementing supersampling when you are rendering higher then 1080p internally doesn't make a lot of sense, though. And up to know, all announced games will output a 4K signal, even though it's most of the time achieved by checkerboarding.

All games going forward will have mandatory Pro support, what the Pro support is is entirely up to the developer. Sony has not made anything a mandate, the only thing required is that all Pro games must run at at least 1080p resolution.
This is all from the leaked documents a few months ago.

I thought that the supersampling was automatic if the Pro version has checkerboard 4K but your TV only goes to 1080p. Doesn't the Pro supersample automatically then?
If you run the game in whatever 4k mode there is and on a 1080 screen then yes it does it all on its own.
If the game doesn't let you choose and instead sees you only have a 1080 screen connected and just gives you a 1080 game with more pretty then that's all you're going to get.
I'm guessing many games will give you the choice to play the 4k or 1080 version.
Last midnight release for the year is CoD.
