PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

I'm not surprised. My local Gamestop which is fairly busy has 7 Pro pre orders one of which is mine. pretty much the same amount at another one near me. i found out when i asked if they were doing a midnight opening and the guy just laughed.

That seems really low for a busy GS. My local Store only has 3 on Pre-order 1 of which is mine. It is not a terribly busy Store, but you would think more than 3 would of been pre-ordered. Hopefully when it is out, people will buy it. I think the general public have no idea what it is or that it exist. Once it is on Store shelves I am sure it will be an easy upsale to a person looking for a PS4.

Ah that's good.. I have a feeling a lot of devs won't bother with adding stuff for the 1080p people.

i would expect that most if not all games released 3-4 months from now will have special 1080p modes... it is selling point just like everything else. And it will be a little bit of work for a lot of impact since they have 2x more powerful GPU to use now.

Most people who are spending the extra on the Pro will have a 4K HDTV within the year. Im waiting on BF myself to get on the 4K train.

This is the same situation at my gamestop. For games like CoD they are in the top 50 stores in the company (There is no other gamestops or any other place to buy games besides walmart for over 50 miles so they get all the gaming business) and they only have 3. I asked the assistant manager if they had gotten anymore so maybe we could do a midnight but he said they hadn't gotten anymore that he was aware of.

Yeah, I was hoping to have it at midnight release, but they are not doing that.

About what? Uprendering? The second gpu?...yeah...

I was right about 4K gaming , I was right about it being a smart design to reach 4K & not trying trying to brute force 4K , I was right about it being up rendering & not up scaling , I was right about it being 8.4TF FP16 , I was right about it using Polaris , I was right about it using hardware to help with the 4K rendering , I was right about it being 36 Compute units , I was right about it having some native 4K games. I was right about it having more memory on the secondary chip & so on .

And I still might be right about the 2 GPUs

Even now you are stating things incorrectly.

Not to mention you ignore when you were outright wrong while making multiple claims and linking benchmarks of native 4k games for comparision.

20 CU's clocked at 1.6Ghz would be 4Tflops & yes it would be enough for 4K in a closed system.

You claim a smaller second GPU.

But smaller GPUs can render 4 1080P frames & the one I posted can render 4k at 60fps.

If the PS4 main GPU is doing the heavy lifting the smaller GPU could render 3 less demanding pixels to use for the up rendering.

You're awfully egotistical for someone who gets so much wrong.

I had a single post that was more accurate than all of the things you assume you had right in this post. The only thing being off was UHD BR playback, which left most everyone scratching their head.

Any word if the PS4 pro will be able to output to 1440p natively? Or will it just get the same benefits of the standard 1080 and upscale to 1440p?
