PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Just saw this in the Amazon customer questions, gave me a chuckle.

Q: Do I need eyeballs to play this?

Fuck yes, my buddy wants to buy my PS4 for $200 pretty much just for Bloodborne, I don't have to deal with Craigslist or GameStop after all! PS4 Pro here I come day 1!

Can anyone tell me if the PS4 Pro NEEDS HDMI 2.0 for 4k or can it work at 30fps or whatever the rate is at 1.4 but still be in 4k, but of course not the full 60fps?
 
Huh, since I posted last (which was maybe an hour ago) my order status is now "shipped" and Amazon has sent me an email stating as much. Here we goooooo!
 
Still waiting. Still in Pre-Ordered status. They still haven't taken out the money yet, either. I guess that makes sense considering the shipping status, or lack thereof.

The same thing happened with Battlefield 1 a couple of weeks ago. It said it was going to ship on a certain day, but it didn't go out until the following day. I still got it on release day, though.
 
This may be a stupid question, or already have been asked.

I have ordered a PS4 pro , being delivered Friday. I have a PS4 with a 2TB hard drive installed. Can i simply just take the 2TB drive out of the PS4 and fit it in the PS4 pro and it will work okay?

The drive will work fine, but you'll have to reinstall the operating system and all of your games. Unfortunately, you can't hot swap the hard drives.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I'm not sure anyone's tested it yet, but the 2160p - YUV420 option *might* enable 2160p60 on some older HDMI 1.4-equipped 2160p60 displays, with somewhat reduced colour resolution.

So deciding to update and pay more to set my shipping to expedited put me at the back of a queue and now I have no delivery date and Amazon UK chat couldn't do anything <_<

Is there anywhere in the UK still offering day 1 stock?

Mine says Pre-ordered too and no charge on the CC also, it says it will ship today though...
 
What a mess this is upgrading from a 2TB HDD.

Only had an external 1TB hard drive so I had to delete half my content before I even backed up. Now I've started it and it's telling me 13 hours until it's completed.

Then I'll have to take out the 2TB HDD in this PS4 and put it in the Pro after I take out the new 1TB HDD in that. After I need to restore everything which will probably take just as long as the backup before I even get to start playing it.

It's a joke really. When I upgraded from my Xbox One to Xbox One S all I had to do was put my games on an external hard drive and plug it into my Xbox One S and I was all good to go. Took a few hours at most to backup a few hundred gigs of data there.

for what it's worth, I've read that the restore is significantly quicker than the back up

Yeah mine says the same. Everytime I order online from target stuff comes before their estimated delivery date so I am hoping that is the case this time as well.

Hmm interesting, thanks, as I know my xbox one s wont work with 4k as it says it needs 4k at 60hz or whatever but maybe the ps4 will? Maybe anyone knows?
 
Amazon order still shows as pre-ordered but I'm really close to a distribution center as well and they always ship a day before its to be delivered. Always get the package on time, so not too worried.

That might be the case. I'm about 45 - 50 minutes from their San Bernadino fulfillment center.

Edit: Amazon just charged me and my status changed from Pre-ordered to Preparing for Shipment!

Same here, I am in LA and it is shipped from Texas through UPS Ground, wtf? Chatted with Amazon about it and they assured me it will come on the guaranteed release date but if it doesn't they said they will do a partial refund of 20% so I guess it works out :\

Wow. That's a big refund! How did you swing that?

Edit: I also want to just say, on this terrifying day, I'm extremely glad to have something so banal to worry about. It really is a blessing.
 
My Amazon status is sitting at "pre-ordered" despite the fact it was supposed to ship today.
Should I bother with customer service?

I'm going to be working near the Sony store in NYC tomorrow. If my status doesn't change YOLO, going to the midnight launch.
 
I ordered from Amazon but just ordered a game with free 1 day shipping for tomorrow so I want to see if Amazon will ship out the PS4 Pro with the game.

I did the same. And then I realized my mistake. I tossed Uncharted 4 in my existing machine just to check out the HDR update and got prompted to download the update. I forgot about the updates. Now I'll have to download all of the updates for my disc based games when my Pro gets here. Could have avoided that if I'd just transferred them with the downloaded games. D'OH!

Also, Amazon needs to ship my Pro already. ><
 
Amazon UK order status - Pre-ordered. Fuck off Amazon you told me you'd ship on the 8th. If it's not despatched by midnight I'm cancelling my order and chancing my luck picking one up in-store somewhere Thursday.

I'll keep that in mind. As the hours move on at all mine continues to say is, "Pre-ordered," my hope of an on-time delivering dwindles. We'll see though, maybe they'll surprise me yet.

Tesco said today mine is at dispatch boxed and ready to ship, but it won't be with me until Monday.

Release day delivery my ass, still, not complaining for £299, and I go back to work tomorrow until Sunday morning.

Oh well, their loss. If they don't hold up their end. I'll talk a promotional credit out of customer service and pickup the Pro elsewhere.
 
I got my dispatch email from Amazon. . . I got VERY EXCITED about thursday PS4 Pro Goodness...

Then saw that it's been handed to carrier 'Hermes'.

I should hopefully have it by the time PS5 launches. Appalling company.

I pre-ordered the moment they were available, too. My order only started the shipping process an hour or so ago. Before that, I was stuck at pre-ordered, too. It's also worth noting that the iPhone app hasn't updated the shipping status to reflect that of the main site.

£299 is a great price. Wish I had known about this deal. I'm 5 minutes from a big Tesco store so if Amazon don't pull their fingers out and get my pro onto a van pronto'ish I'll be visiting that Tesco on Thursday morning.
