This is why we can't have nice thing

Pretty good update. Can't wait to load up some bloodpumping music for driveclub.
This. Also, whatever happened to just dumping my music media directly onto the HD?
Anyone else remember using custom soundtracks on the original Xbox and the ESPN sports titles? It was GODLY in the NHL 2K series. Bring that shit back, yo.
I'm not sure. The best solution is to have two encryption keys, one for important data and the other for unimportant stuff. Maybe they've already implemented it on the Vita and are in the process of doing the same on PS4.Ahh, that makes sense. What about Vita, though?
this sounds pretty neat. although I just want the xbox360 level of playback. it had USB/DLNA/HDD support and in-game music tracks stopped when playing.
I don't think that is coming. Sony already released a bluetooth headset and it needs a dongle to function. maybe the controller/keyboard takes up too much bandwidth or something.
Still no friends online notification.
So simple and yet so far away.

Place your bets, which comes first?
DriveClub PS+ or PS4 2.0?
Theres no confirmation USB playback works with beta software

Wait, really? That's so stupid.
You can use Plex from the web browser, works fine for me and I think that is the best we are going to getWill Sony ever add the ability to watch video files like the PS3? :
? Microsoft still doesn't have themes and only just added USB playback last month.

I was thinking more along the lines of a feature that lets an ingame player import music from your library and play the music in the context of the game, not from a system player. It plays in the background while you play the game and it turns off in-game music. How is that not custom soundtracks?
The Gold Wireless Headset? I don't think that's Bluetooth...and it works as a normal headset too, you just plug it in with the jack.
Is that what goodacre is talking about? He didn't mention what the headset was. If it is the Golds (which I own), then no, they aren't bluetooth. I thought he was referring to a new headset that had just come out or something.
I want FLAC support, dammit!
Honestly I find this list to be pretty embarrassing for a "2.0" release that's the main update in an entire year. As someone who owns both systems (and favours the PS4 for my multiplats) this is underwhelming. It looks like the list from a single one of Microsoft's updates which they've been churning out all year.
Is there no Date because it's releasing now? Is this why PSN is down?
Codename Masamune
The wielder of said sword was defeated by Cloud.
Xbone wins Sept confirmed
I get the suspend/resume complaints but not the pause downloads. I just cancel the downloads I don't want and then download them later after one has finished..takes 30 seconds.
Like yeah I get it seems like a trivial feature to add but it's never impacted my ability to enjoy my ps4. The anger over it seems blown way out of proportion.
What, Sony give Microsoft a fight in the OS department? Man, people must have been on drugs or something.
Yeah, OG XBox having custom soundtrack stuff was crazy for the time. Then 360 ramped it up waaay more. I want that stuff back!
Content Area and Library: PS4s Content Area, which shows the latest games and apps a PS4 owner has used, has been redesigned to help make it easier to quickly find and access content. It now shows 15 of a players most used apps or games, and additional items will be added to a players Library. The Library on PS4 has improved filter and sort functions to help organize contented by type (game / app / TV & video), name (a z or z a), recently used, or install date.
Nah, no such luck. EU version of the blog has it down for Autumn.
This all great and all that but where the hell is my DLNA/VIDEO SUPPORT??
Sony come on its not like your company isn't the founder of all things media, is it really that hard to just create a video player or just outsource it?
It's not rocket science
My estimate on release however is last week o Oct or first week of Nov
Even better, put everything in the library and just use pins for the main screen. After that the only major thing missing is USB video playback. I would have taken that over USB music player any day, as I have no use for the latter.
15 is still too many games and apps to go through to reach the Library folder. Give me the option to limit it to 3-5 games, and the same amount of apps and I'm happy. I'd also prefer to have more than one Library folders; retail games, digital games and PS+ games, just like I had on the PS3. The single folder is going to have too many games to conveniently browse further on.
I have personally stated in past blog posts that we listen to our fans. PlayStation has heard gamers....
...when they say they want more ways to find friends to play with
What exactly are you using DLNA for?
Enhanced Voice Commands: The ability to control PS4 using voice has been improved. Players can now say PlayStation to begin commands, and All Commands, to see a list of all voice command options available. New voice commands were added for live broadcasting, including Start broadcast, End broadcast, and Find face."

We have not yet announced a date. That said we dont want you guys playing some of the biggest games of the year without the biggest update of the year.
Hmm..quite nice. If "backup" actually allows everything, including full games...I can finally swap the HDD and not take over a week (non-stop) to download everything.

Guys I have a chance to get a PS4 with 2 controllers and FIFA 15, for 315 shipped to me. Should I do it?
If I was the flip it, how much would I get?
I already have an Xbox one but I'm considering the PS4 but I want the cheapest price possible. Can I get it for cheaper or should I just pull the trigger?
probably driveclub. So what's the next big release?! Call of Duty I think?
