Doubtful. Neo will like he launched in March so dull production would be Oct or Nov. So needs to give PSVR some breathing roomThe neo must be in full production now. There is no way Sony can fit more power into a box that size. The PS4.5 will be coming second but the PS5 will be a new book.
Was expecting something new when I saw this thread back on the front page. It's really doubtful it will be as powerful. Since devkits have been in developers hands for a while now apparently. Plus don't forget MS hasn't spilled all their beans yet and they can now sit back, watch Sony announce Neo and if they want change things if needed.

I dunno how I missed this thread before, but wouldnt a 2x PS4 be more powerful than what MS said Scorpio would be at E3?
No way are Sony launching this thing next year.. if you believe that then ask yourself why Sony would announce a brand new product that will undercut their current product right before the biggest sales period of the year. Also Sony has said they want to take an Apple approach to hardware, which is announce and release shortly after.. I believe the Neo is launching October/November for sure.
There no point to announcing it in September if it's not launching this year.

Now ask yourself why would Sony cut there own throat. So they would texpect for PSVR to fail.
Great does this mean we have a picture showing the Neo? Must of missed that one.

I think its going to look like the PS4, no new design.
That'd be dumb.I think its going to look like the PS4, no new design.
Whattttt? Do you Know that Project Morpheus was announced on March 18th 2014 at GDC? Scorpio was announced this past E3 and at that time it was 1 year and 6 months away from launching? Why can't Sony announce the NEO in September this year and launch it 6 months later? In fact, that would probably one of the quickest if not the quickest transition a piece of console hardware would go from announcement to launch. I'm not sure that you're familiar with history here. There no point to announcing it in September if it's not launching this year.

I hope the Neo will be equal in Power to the Microsoft machine.

It really is very simple. Neo is a slim that has more power and Sony are releasing it like they have previously have done with "normal" slims i.e. announce/release within ~ a month.
I hope the Neo will be equal in Power to the Microsoft machine.
Looks like I'll be skipping PS4 expensive AF if it ends up being 500$. I'll just wait for the PS5 2 years post release that will be a lot better instead for that price.
Slim models have never been priced at a premium though.
Awesome junior bump. I thought something leaked and this thread blew up...

Ditto jnr.I started reading the first post thinking it was from today.
Can someone explain tme why MS and Sony are releasing, and have release upgraded hardware, with a promise it will do nothing for the software?
I dont understand this generation at all.

Sure, but that is why I suspect there will be a PlayStation meeting. To explain the mid-gen upgrade/iteration and to assure current PS4 owners they won't be forced to upgrade or be left behind. Plus Sony might have other stuff to announce we don't know about.
Yeah I agree this is a good opportunity to reveal the slim model as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
Ummmmmmmmmmmm
"It was also made very clear that current games would not be getting any type of performance upgrades by being played on the system"
I was referring to.

Also Phil Spencer was asked about Xbox One S and how it will affect games currently out, and he said it won't.
I dont understand. Why are we getting more power?
I was referring to.

IIRC digital foundry did a thing on the XBO S and there were some improvements. If there were on that pretty sure there will be some on neo.I was referring to.
