The same exact conversation happened previous to the PS5 launch, remember all the talk about poor BC enhancements with PS4? I bet the Pro will do the same to PS5 games.Sony always downplay this shit with wording like "can" and "may", i bet most of the games will get the benefit.
Good point. You think the Pro is up to the task or at this point it's just fiscally smarter to wait for the PS6?A game like TLOU2 running at 4k and 120 fps on a slim ps5? Can you really see it happening?
700 dollarydoos for Ai upscaling would be a terrible purchase if that's all that's grabbed your attention.Good point. You think the Pro is up to the task or at this point it's just fiscally smarter to wait for the PS6?
Nope just ai upscale to 4k,Does this mean it will apply the frame generation method or the games will just run faster with an uncapped frame rate?
Is this like a driver level upscaler? If so, god damn PS4 games going to get a nice boost.
Frame Gen works well for 60+fps titles, you don't use that technology on 30fps limited games. It looks like shi* and adds noticeable lag.I'm guessing it's just Frame Gen.
This is honestly bigger good news to me than just enhancing PS5 titles with non-mandatory patches since I still play a ton of PS4 only titles. So the AI upscaler is basically system wide?
That is huge.
Yeah, not worried about the 7 people playing thier PS5 Pros on a 1080p television. They just disabled the toggle on 1080p panels, with the recent update.
If you're wondering "why the hell would you want that on a 1080p TV to begin with", the feature did absolute wonders for all the soft looking 1080p PS4 games using FXAA, and other similar post-process AA methods.
A true night and day difference, on any panel. Improvement now needlessly precluded for some users for no reason whatsoever.
And if you're wondering "what kind of moron buys a Pro to play on a 1080p TV", you are completely unaware of the amount of people unwilling to separate from 3000Hz sub-field drive Panasonic plasma with completely blur-free image, and perfect near-black performance, experiencing all content downsampled.
Fucking Sony man..
But they did bother to take away something, specifically, from those 7 people for no reason.Yeah, not worried about the 7 people playing thier PS5 Pros on a 1080p television.

They know GAF is a big part of their customer’s entertainment. They deliver. But they did bother to take away something, specifically, from those 7 people for no reason.
As few people as it might affect, it's truly a bizarre decision assuming it really is a decision and not some sort of bug. They just disabled the toggle on 1080p panels, with the recent update.

Nope.Question: Despite being on a 1080p screen, can you still change the resolution in the settings menu to 4k to see if the option returns? For example, I'm on a 1440p monitor but I can still set it to 4k.
Yeah, but those 7 people are bad people. They have done some messed up thingsBut they did bother to take away something, specifically, from those 7 people for no reason.
